This is a pyramid scheme! I wasted almost three hours of my life listening to a load! Not to mention, this was a "friend" of my sisters! Why would I pay $2200 for discounts? Where would the discount be? What REALLY got me was when the guy said, "Don't tell your husband about it. Nothing. He will make an opinion based on what you say, not me." and, "We need to get this thing going NOW!" Why the urgency? I'm not shopping today, so I'm not concerned with the discount right now. OH, I see, it's because someone else will get in "over" me and take my potential earnings. Whatever! Don't be fooled by this scam! In the '80's there were many pyramid schemes that were facing criminal charges. No thanks, I'm nit gonna rush in and pay to be investigated later!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Correction to my first line of my last response. You have yet to admit that Team Naitonal saves money so I guess your response did make sense according to your logic :-)
I don't see where TN saves anyone any money in the real world. You haven't proven anything. A few vague screen shots without stating shipping and taxes, not to mention the high membership fee, monthly fee, on and on. A rip-off!
Yeah, I want to pay into TN, thousands of dollars so I may save $100 on discontinued furniture, Good choice.
Clearly a quick google search will get you BETTER products at BETTER pricing without joining a scammy MLM.
Most sane people wouldn't trust a pyramid scheme like TN.
You have bought into this scam most don't fall for it, you do so enjoy and good luck to you.
"I don't see where TN saves anyone any money in the real world. You haven't proven anything."
-Except for the fact that you could save an entire 2 year membership (from the examples I have shown) back on a single purchase... Does that not count?
"Yeah, I want to pay into TN, thousands of dollars so I may save $100 on discontinued furniture, Good choice."
-Every example I have shown had more than 100 dollars savings from the best deals you could find.. Also TN doesn't cost thousands of dollars if you don't want to purchase a lifetime membership. Try again :-)
"Most sane people wouldn't trust a pyramid scheme like TN."
-Most sane people have the ability to do basic math and know a good deal when they see it. Your nonsense has not helped your cause..
"You have bought into this scam most don't fall for it, you do so enjoy and good luck to you."
-As I stated before (many times) I didn't "buy" into anything... My membership was free. Reading comprehension would do wonders for you!
@Rodney tames
What do you have to say about being $800 dollars off on your "Simmons Sebring sectional" example? Since I exposed your fake and misleading "saving's" example why should anybody take your comments serious anymore? You are obviously living in an alternate reality!
There are no savings by paying $800-$220 to join and then pay all of the other hidden fees and monthly this and that. Your examples are just that, examples of what? Because the TN website says so? I don't believe they pay freight and tax on the furniture items. My SIL confirmed that and she is sucked into this scam. wouldn't believe TN if they told me the sun comes up in the east.
I belong to some great savings clubs. Amazon, Ebay, Macy's, Wal-Mart, Zappos, my local merchants, and this neat thing called Google. I can find almost anything I have every dreamed of and compare prices and selection when I want without paying anyone upfront for anything.
Folks, keep your money and friends. Avoid this shady MLM scam called Team National.
@Rodney tames
"There are no savings by paying $800-$220 to join and then pay all of the other hidden fees and monthly this and that."
-Please elaborate on the “hidden fees and monthly this and that" part of your (weak) rebuttal. I wouldn't want other readers to think you are misleading them with another weak, unfounded assumption...
"Your examples are just that, examples of what?"
-For people that don't understand math and common sense so well, my examples showed how you can save back more your entire investment (on a two year membership) with a single purchase.
"I belong to some great savings clubs. Amazon, Ebay, Macy's, Wal-Mart, Zappos, my local merchants, and this neat thing called Google. I can find almost anything I have every dreamed of and compare prices"
-If this is true then why weren't you able to find a cheaper bar unit, Guamuchil King Platform Bed and Simmons Sebring sectional leather sofa than the examples I posted from Team National? You said yourself that you have all these "tools" to save the same amount of money but yet you still WEREN'T ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING CHEAPER! Instead of admitting that TN has the cheaper prices (compared to the examples that you researched yourself) you then desperately resort to throwing around more and more unfounded assumptions about so called "hidden fees" (that you somehow can't find any find proof of) for the reason that my items were so much cheaper than your examples... Really? GTFOH! What if I was to suggest that all of your examples (from amazon) also had "hidden fees" so none of your examples count either? LMFAO I could do the same lazy ### that you [censored] did but you but I chose substance over unfounded assumptions... Rodney Tames, You not only owe TN an apology you owe the rest of the readers an apology for having to dumb themselves down by reading your uneducated, stupid rants (and unfounded assumptions) )that actually end up making Team National look like an even better deal :-)
There is usually a "freight" charge no matter where you buy furniture (or any other large items) from online... If there isn’t any freight cost then it’s probably already added to the overall price…To suggest that a freight charge is a "scam" is ridicules... I guess Amazon must be a scam too since they also charge freight fees no?
I see now that my last response to Rodney again failed to get posted here (making it 4 times that he has been let him off the hook). So let's just do a quick review of where we are now in this discussion... Rodney Tames started off (and still is) calling TN a "pyramid scheme" without having any supporting evidence to justify this assumption. So I repeatedly asked him to elaborate on what a "pyramid scheme" is and how that relates to Team National... A fair question I think (and one that NEEDS to be answered if you want to have a real discussion about this topic) since it is the premise of his entire argument... However despite multiple attempts (from me asking) Rodney has failed to answer anything about his "assumptions" and just keeps repeating the same regurgitated talking points over and over again (like a 5 year old) in a desperate attempt to smear a Company that he knows nothing about...
So then after not answering his pyramid scheme rhetoric he starts making more accusations. In a recent retort he stated that Team National supporters never give specific examples of the saving's. So after several attempts (with "complaintsboard.com" not posting many of them) I finally got through with 3 specific examples of Team National saving's! Those three random examples that I presented couldn't be found cheaper anywhere... So Rodney then tried to find them cheaper and couldn't even come close... However he was so desperate to bash this Company that he "claimed" to find (2 of my 3) examples at cheaper prices from amazon.com... He didn't say he could find a cheaper price on my bed example because he simply couldn't find anything remotely close or similar in price so he brushed it off as “discontinued furniture” even though it can easily be found (at multiple different outlets) using a basic google search...
In my below follow on posts I'm going to (again) give picture examples of Rodney's misleading and fake claims of what he said were cheaper prices than Team National examples... You be the judge :-)
HD Super Duty Fusion King Size Revolution TN Price $1, 490.50. Compare to $1, 679.99 from another outlet.
-You save $189.49 with Team national
Sheraton Court 4 in 1 Crib
TN Price $396.00 compared to $650.00 at another outlet (pictured).
You save $254.00 with Team National
Human Touch PC-510 Perfect Chair Series 2 Walnut Electric Power Recliner:
-Team National price $1973.40 (free shipping) compared to an Amazon price of $2895.00 (also free shipping)
This time I even posted a screen shot of the “free shipping” image from my TN page as evidence that there are zero additional fees or charges to the shipping.
-In this example you save $921.60 with a Team National membership. That is more than enough (in this single purchase) to cover a 2 year membership of 795.00!
Prescott (leather) Sofa
-Team National price: $968.90 + $143.29 (freight) equals a total of $1, 110.19
-I have again attached my proof of the freight price to display the full price of this TN discount.
-Amazon price is 1, 758.00 (free shipping)
-Wayfair.com price is also $1, 758.00 (free shipping)
-You save $647.81 as a Team National Member
Exeter Shiatsu Chair:
Team National Price: 1739.42 (includes freight cost)
Zentech Massage chars price: 1909.00 (incudes $10 shipping cost)
You save $169.58 as a Team National member
Your catalog says the price is $1479.50. Where does the almost $300 difference come from? Is that freight? Also, you picked out a random massage chair. I can find for cheaper or more expensive. How can you try out the chair before you order? Can you return and get ALL of your money back? Do you have to pay freight both ways? Or just back? I would NEVER buy anything to sit in or sleep on or walk on without trying it out. How can we do this with Team National?
Why would anyone pay $2200 + other BS fees for this scam? You can find BETTER products and pricing on the internet and your local merchants all day long. Your examples of cheap furniture prove nothing because of the high costs involved, and the unsavory reputation of TN type scams. Think Direct Buy another buyers club scam.
Like I said in many past posts TN is a scammy pyramid scheme that only takes your money. Avoid the Team National scam and keep your money, friends, and family.
Sonny07, you do understand that no one other than us is looking at this post right? I only post to get the word out about MLM scam and scammers.
@ Rodney
Hold so you you're okay with shopping at Walmart? Isn't SAMS CLUB a "savings club" as well? Be careful! You may be contributing to another pyramid scheme (according to your own examples) and not even realizing it!
@Rodney
Come to think of it, you better stop shopping at SEARS as well since they are now partners with Team National... I would hate for you to be contributing to such an awful pyramid scheme.
Our Sears just closed.
Also, I have read that any rebates you receive, you will have to pay income tax on that money. True?
BTW you can't be employed by or do business with any major Corporation or you're participating in a pyramid scheme as well.
Avoid Team National as it is a pyramid scheme. The only people making any money are the top tier folks. They sell a $2200 membership that offers a worthless or near worthless product like a dubious buyers club. Avoid this scam.
Yes, Sonny I would rather shop at legitimate stores and websites.
Team National has no connection with these "real" businesses other than "affiliate marketing" programs which anybody can do with almost any website. You sure don't need to get ripped offed by Team National.
Sonny, you do understand that you keep bumping this up in the search engines. Thanks! People can find out what a scam TN is. Your screaming that it isn't a pyramid scheme just affirms that it is! for that, we thank you!
@Rodney,
I keep getting notifications that you're responding to my posts but not seeing any of them on the feed here... So I obviously haven't seen your responses yet but I will say that unless your responses specifically articulate the definition of a pyramid scheme and the connection to Team National then your responses aren’t going to be helpful to this discussion.
Also I have already demonstrated how your past "saving examples" (to refute my examples) were misleading before... You’re obviously going to question the legitimacy of my snap shot images (again, sigh) while at the same time citing some made up or misleading research (with no proof) just like you did last time... Thus continuing a circle jerk of misinformation that is now on “auto repeat mode” which will pro-long this discussion with repeated generic “pyramid scheme” assertions.
I borrowed this from another poster here but it is right on the money with Team National:
Of course it is a scam. Lets address the main points of the supporters.
1) BBB top listing. Means nothing. The local and national BBB's are supported by dues from businesses that join. These businesses are then given very easy and broad ways to keep the top rating by basically just responding to a complaint. The BBB is private organization supported by its paying members. The BBB is not a kind benevolent outfit looking out for consumers. They are a business supported by the dues paying members. Get it?
2) Its not a pyramid scheme. Yes it is. Do you recruit members that you then benefit from their activity? If the answer is yes it is a pyramid scheme. It may be just on the fine edge of legal but it is still what we call a pyramid scheme.
3) Big savings, get your initial fee back quickly on the savings! - Well, not really. If you are bad at math maybe. Can you make sense of buying $8 toothpaste (that is normally $3) at a BIGTN/Walmart website and get fifty cents back. It is all squishy math and moving target savings at best. Big purchases are even more dicey. Think Direct Buy scam.
4) You will get rich. NO you wont. You will spend $2200 buy lots of products that you pay too much for, get small checks every so often, irritate all of your friend and family, sign two or three people up, then quit in 3 years.
5) This is a Christian run outfit. No they are not. They use religion when it suits the selling situation.
6) Attend the convention! It will help you become a better team member! NO it wont. It will put more of your hard earned cash in TN's pockets. Avoid the books and seminars as well. Only TN profits.
7) Work Harder. Prospect more! Don't waste your time. This is a flawed model only geared for the people at the top. The pyramid scheme buyers club concept is an old war horse the MLM game. No amount of work will do the trick. After you exhaust all of your friends, family, co-workers, etc.. you are at the end of the road.
8) It legal! Well sort of. Selling week old bread is too but I don't want to start a business doing it. The MLM is always by its nature at the knife edge of the law. It may be legal but its still wrong, unethical, slimy, etc..
Come on folks. Wise up here and don't lose you hard earned money and damage your relationships. Good Luck to you!
@Rodney,
I will take this time to respond to the post that you desperately had to "borrow" from somebody else since you ran out of substance.
" BBB top listing. Means nothing. The local and national BBB's are supported by dues from businesses that join."
-Source? If what you’re saying is true then why doesn't your logic/theory explain how Companies that DO pay for memberships have low ratings? Everybody knows there is a fee to be part of the BBB that is not news to anybody.
"Its not a pyramid scheme. Yes it is. Do you recruit members that you then benefit from their activity?"
-Recruiting members while benefiting from their activity also describes the entire real estate, and automobile market platforms... Is a real estate and car sale also a "pyramid scheme"? Based off of this "broad requirement" almost anything could fall into that category. Why are you so afraid to use the very definition of pyramid scheme and describe specifically how it relates to this topic?
"Big savings, get your initial fee back quickly on the savings! - Well, not really. If you are bad at math"
-I have provided multiple examples that do just that. Try again
"You will get rich. NO you won’t. "
-That I agree with in most cases... I have met a few people that did become rich by doing this full time. However in most cases people just save a lot of money as I described in my posts above.
"They use religion when it suits the selling situation"
-That is a lie... Nowhere in the selling material do they push religion on anybody. Just mentioning that it's a "Christian based" Company (in the description) doesn't qualify as "selling".
"Avoid the books and seminars as well. Only TN profits."
-Wrong, many of the books that are plugged have nothing to even do with Team National... Example: they always plug the book "thinking big “by David J. Schwartz. He is not a TN member and TN profits in no way for plugging his book. Try again...
"Work Harder. Prospect more! Don't waste your time. This is a flawed model only geared for the people at the top"
-How is this "flawed" model? Please elaborate... It is also the exact same model used in every traditional business (for sales) so that people at the top (and the salesman) of any Company can make a profit.
"It legal! Well sort of."
-Not sort if... It is because it's a proven business model. The Direct selling industry takes in a total (net profit) of 178 billion a year according to the DSA. Over 70 billion goes to everyday marketers (not the Companies). This means that over 200 million a day is paid out to network marketers. You tell me what other business (that you don't consider a "pyramid scheme") brings in that kind of profit?
"Come on folks. Wise up here and don't lose you hard earned money and damage your relationships"
-I refer you to my many examples above that display multiple examples of saving hard earned money :-)
@Rodney,
"Team National has no connection with these "real" businesses other than "affiliate marketing""
-Wrong, not with AT&T and SEARS to name a few examples...
http://www.myteamisteamnational.com/index.php/team-national-presents-sears-commercial/
http://www.bign.com/documents/team_national_att_deal.pdf
If I am already getting 22% off my Verizon bill, will I also receive an additional 15% as shown in the savings guide? I really do want answers to my questions, since the person who showed this to us will be contacting us soon for our decision!
Another Rodney Tames statement I'm going to put to rest...
"Your examples of cheap furniture prove nothing because of the high costs involved, "
-Cheap furniture? You apparently know nothing about furniture (or math) but I will post another comparison just for kicks... This Comparison will be Team National vs. your favorite online savings store (that you keep talking about) "amazon.com". GET READY!
This is a designer bed set... And since you earlier mentioned that $300 was a decent price for a bed set you won't be able to call this "cheap furniture" either... With this example I will guarantee (again) that you won't be able to find another one (brand new of course) online or anywhere for anything close to this price by Team National... If your next response is anything but an example of a cheaper bed then you will be the laughing stock of this thread... However if you do find a cheaper example I will remain quiet and stop posting on this forum for good...Keep in mind that so far you weren't able to find not even one item cheaper or even the same price as any of my Team National examples as of yet despite your multiple statements of "thinking you could". So here we go!
Elizabeth King Bedding Set:
-MSRP: $1, 438.21
-Team National Price: $576.28 (price includes $1.00 for freight cost)
-Amazon.com price $999.00 (free shipping)
-Coleman furniture price $999.00 (free shipping)
You save $422.72 as a Team National member. If you can explain to me how saving four hundred bucks on a single purchase is somehow a "rip off" then you win this discussion hands down :-)
Sonny07, you do understand that this original thread is about a ripoff complaint regarding Team National? By responding to it daily you keep pushing this discussion up the google search. For that we thank you, as more people can see the complaint and the following discussion. I am happy with my position letting people know this is a scam.
But thanks for pushing this up the search engines.
Avoid this MLM/pyramid scheme. Keep your money and shop merchants that you know and that are reputable. Avoid Team National.
@Rodney
"you do understand that this original thread is about a ripoff complaint regarding Team National?"
-Oh wow I had now clue, thanks for the info! I mean I did see that this sight is called "complaintsboard.com" but I guess I just wasn't able to put 2 & 2 together :-)
Now where is your cheaper "Elizabeth King Bedding Set"? I'm still waiting...
How about answering my questions to support your position? Or do you still have a position? You said yourself that more people are going to be reading it now because of all the responses... Don't you want people to see or understand your side of the argument?
"I am happy with my position letting people know this is a scam."
-But apparently not "happy" or confident enough to explain anything accurate about Team National or list examples of how I was wrong.
"But thanks for pushing this up the search engines"
-No need to thank me... It's my argument that people are going to learn from. At least they will be better informed.
@Rodney,
I already explained all you need to know (in my last response) about getting me to stop responding to you... Once I see the cheaper "Elizabeth King Bedding Set" example from you, I will shut up for good and your argument wins hands down. I'm waiting...
Correction to the first paragraph of my "bedding set" example post where I referred to my example as a "bed" instead of a "bedding set". Sometimes I I'm a bit to fast and sloppy in my response but I'm sure you get my point anyway.
Sonny07, I don't believe anything that you or Team National say. No offense but it is a scammy MLM pyramid scheme that is only interested in taking folks money and delivering very little of value to them.
I, like most people are more comfortable shopping at traditional venues online or in person. I don't believe in paying $2195 plus LOTS of junk fees to a MLM operator for discounts that don't exist. It makes no sense. The MLM discount buyers club is one of the oldest pages in the pyramid scheme playbook.
Avoid Team National it is a MLM pyramid scheme. Keep your friends and money!
You don't NEED to believe anything I said because I already posted screen shop examples genius... The "burden of proof" isn't on me anymore as I have already made my case... It's on you for making false statements and NOT being able to back them up with these things we call facts and logic... What makes me laugh is that I know if there was in fact a cheaper example of an "Elizabeth King Bedding Set" in existence you would have already posted it by now in an attempt to have some sort of substance to your argument :-) Instead you're still in denial and appear pretty desperate while (admittedly) stealing other people's responses.
-Oh and BTW I'm still waiting on your example of cheaper merchandise?!
@Rodney,
Nobody cares what you believe... I gave up on you like 234 responses ago haha. I just don't want casual readers to confuse your rants for facts...
Sonny07
Just carry on trying to rip off your friends and family on this MLM pyramid scheme.
Your immature, over the top posts tell most everyone that Team National is to be avoided. We thank you for that!
Avoid Team National it is an old buyers club MLM pyramid scheme. Keep your money and friends, avoid Team National.
@Rodney
On Jan 22nd you posted this:
“She is totally convinced this buyer club scam works no matter how many times we prove to her the pricing doesn't hold up to very basic google searches on products.”
on Jan 23rd you posted this:
"Clearly a quick google search will get you BETTER products at BETTER pricing without joining a scammy MLM"
-So where are your “better products with better pricing”? You have also had more than a few days to come up with a cheaper "Elizabeth King Bedding Set" what happened? Why should anybody listen to you anymore? BTW I think you owe your SIL an apology :-) Cheers!
@Rodney
How am I "immature"? Because I counter your rant's and tantrums with actual facts? LOL
Item: Grand Bahamas XL (SPA)
-Manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) $13, 308.00
-Cheapest competitor’s price found online (from Spa Sauna direct) $9, 059.00-includes shipping
**Team National Member Price** $6, 986.70-includes shipping
On this particular item as a Team National member you would save$2, 072.30 from the cheapest bargain found online... Another compelling example that illustrates enough savings (in a single purchase) to save back an entire Team National membership fee!
Same old buyers club scam. No one has yet to document any real savings on real items available at "normal" stores. Your odd, low end furniture and saunas and spas (really!) examples do not prove anything. Do I really want to pay $2200 for maybe a discount on furniture and spas? That makes NO sense.
My SIL is into this and we have found NO savings. AVOID.
The upfront fee of $2195 is what this scam is all about. It is about TN getting your money. If you are a real sucker you pay for all the other fees and junk they push on you.
Avoid Team National as it is an old warhorse of a mlm pyramid scheme buyers club. No one saves anything, you only lose your money.
Are you just rolling Rodney? Did you just really copy and past this exact response and use it on the other Team National thread? LMAO
*Trolling*
I don't understand how people are determined to continue arguing about something when they clearly know they are wrong. Just because Team National isn't your 'thing', doesn't mean it is bad for everyone. It is a respectable way to save money and make money - if that is something you are interested in doing. I am not a car salesman and I wonder how someone can bargain to see how much of money they will take when I buy a car. That doesn't mean I am going to trash car salesmen. That is their job, not for me. I am not saying a car saleman is the same thing, but just used that as an example. If you truly want to offer your opinion, be open minded and truly review the business to see what all the specifics are. Ask these hard questions of someone qualified to answer them. Then, if you still are angry and want to trash them on social blogs, at least you will have the right information. Some of these posts clearly show you know nothing about how Team National works. I am not working the TN business but I have reviewed the plan. Great opportunity for some people, just not for me. That doesn't mean I am going to trash the company because it will work for those that have determination and the will to make a change in their life. And, people that believe in them will help them on their way.
