This is a pyramid scheme! I wasted almost three hours of my life listening to a load! Not to mention, this was a "friend" of my sisters! Why would I pay $2200 for discounts? Where would the discount be? What REALLY got me was when the guy said, "Don't tell your husband about it. Nothing. He will make an opinion based on what you say, not me." and, "We need to get this thing going NOW!" Why the urgency? I'm not shopping today, so I'm not concerned with the discount right now. OH, I see, it's because someone else will get in "over" me and take my potential earnings. Whatever! Don't be fooled by this scam! In the '80's there were many pyramid schemes that were facing criminal charges. No thanks, I'm nit gonna rush in and pay to be investigated later!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Thanks for your input MamaRobbin! It's nice to see somebody with an impartial and logical response... The guy I have been going back and forth with is also on several other Team National complaint threads (on this website) and continues to respond with multiple vague, opinionated blanket statements while at the same time using no actual facts to make his case... He just continuously responds in auto repeat mode. He even copies his (and other posters) previous statements (from other TN threads) and is very determined to trash this company for some odd reason. I'm starting to wonder if "his sister in law" that he keeps referring too even exists :-)
Hey MLM dude, still hawking the scammy Team National?
This is a scam, doesn't matter how you dress this up, at the end of the day it is a scam. Looks like a pyramid scheme to me ... just rearranged to fool the less observant. First of all, why is it $2200, I don't care who you are, that is a lot of money. Sure we buy flat screen TV's but we get something tangible. You don't get anything tangible with Team-National. The savings you get you can get elsewhere. The only way you can break even or come out ahead is by conning your friends or relatives into purchasing a membership, then they have to spend some time to get their money back. You can put all the makeup you want on an ugly woman but at the end of the day after she removes the makeup she'll still be ugly and after purchasing a membership with team national, at the end of the day when you lay down and close your eyes ... you will still have that sickening feeling that you got suckered. If you can get past that you will have that sickening feeling that you suckered others ... You get nothing for your money and you have to scam others just to break even
@Mitch
Please elaborate on how you think this is a "Pyramid scheme"? Perhaps you could start by defining "pyramid scheme" then showing how that definition relates to Team National... Thanks in advance!
"just rearranged to fool the less observant."
-How? Please explain?
"First of all, why is it $2200, I don't care who you are, that is a lot of money"
-The $2, 195.00 is only one option for the family lifetime membership price... However if you want to try it for 2 years the price is reduced to $795.00. I have clearly shown in multiple (specific) examples in previous posts that you can save back the entire amount of either the 2 year or lifetime memberships (compared to prices on amazon.com, furnituredirect.com etc) in a single purchase... Who wouldn't want to save back more money then they initially invest?
"The savings you get you can get elsewhere."
-No you can't... I strongly suggest you look at the (factory direct) savings examples in my previous responses. I challenge you to find cheaper products if what you say is true.
"The only way you can break even or come out ahead is by conning your friends or relatives into purchasing a membership"
-Wrong again... You do NOT need to sell any memberships to take advantage of the savings... You also don't need to purchase a membership (or give one penny to TN) in order to sell membership packages and create a residual income... The Team National contract clearly explains all of this and is available online (with a simple google search). Next time educate yourself about the Company before you make these false statements... You clearly have no understanding about how this company works but are intent to bash it anyway.
Home Office Richmond 66'' Executive Desk:
Kittles.com price: $1383.76
Home Gallery stores price: $1584.00
Team National Member price: $871.20
-As a Team National Member you save $512.56 from the kittles.com price and $718.80 from the Home gallery price.
-The savings example illustrated here (using either comparison) is more than enough to pay for the whole first year of a 2 year Team National membership.
I am just informing folks here that Team National is a MLM/pyramid scheme. People are free to decide on their own. But shills like Sonny troll and even try to solicit folks here. Yes you did.
The reality is, that this is an old buyers club model that offers very little to most people. This model has been around since the 1960's in various forms. The catch is you can then recruit other people and get a cut of their sales. Classic MLM pyramid scheme. I love when the people scream it isn't a pyramid scheme. Of course it is. It is only on the narrowly good side of the law by offering a "product" which in this case is near worthless buyers club.
Avoid Team National. Keep your money and your friends.
Sonny, what do these odd low end furniture examples prove? I found almost all this junk on Amazon. How is paying $2200+++ to maybe save a hundred dollars on a desk or bed? Who would trust a scam like Team National? I would bet there are lots of junk monthly fees and shipping surcharges and on and on with them.
Avoid this scam. Team National is a MLM/pyramid scheme.
There is nothing "low end" about any of these examples... When did you become the "furniture expert" source? Since when is saving between 5 or 7 hundred bucks (in a single purchase) not significant? And again, the $2, 195.00 membership is just one option... You can also choose the 2 year option for $795.00. Many of my examples illustrate single purchase savings that cover an entire 2 year membership. So again please get your facts straight :-)
@ Rodney,
Please share the prices you found on amazon? Because I did too and I posted many of them to make my case.
Rodney,
How are you "informing" anyone when you are unable to articulate any facts to back up your rhetoric? All you do is troll this thread with the same posts over and over again.
Again, with odd furniture. What are you proving with these furniture examples? All your over the top tantrums prove is that Team National is scam. It is an old buyers club MLM/pyramid scheme.
Normal people don't join $2200 clubs for the right to buy odd furniture!
Avoid Team National. It is a scam MLM pyramid scheme. Keep your money and friends.
And now this from Rodney...
"Again, with odd furniture. What are you proving with these furniture examples?"
-Who are you to determine whether this is good furniture or not? This coming from the guy that thought he could buy an entire brand new (leather) sectional (see attachment) for 900 dollars on Amazon... See the next attachment to view the real price of the sectional after clicking on it (from the Amazon.com site) and are redirected to “figstores.com”.
P.S- all of my examples haven't been only furniture either… However the only reason I posted any of these examples in the first place is because you previously stated you could find “better products with better pricing”… So where are your better products with better pricing?
The third attachment (above) of the leather sectional is the Team National example of the very same couch at a much different pricing... I don't know how any rational thinking human being would consider that couch a low end item or "odd example” as Rodney says... Its leather has two recliners and comes with USB and 110 outlets built in.
Rodney and Sonny -
Thank you for the correspondence. As an Interior Designer, I can tell you that my clients are not "cheap" but if I can save them money and still have a nice mark up then this makes complete sense. I also found with my own research of TN that I can also save money ($1600 annually, Free Estimate of a few of my monthly statements) off my credit card processing not to mention the payroll services! The more that I look into TN as a savings membership, for my business, the more I am intrigued. I can see where this would not work for an individual that is not an entrepreneur, making their own path. I read Success magazine, which is where I found TN featured. I also read up on self made millionaires/billionaires ie Donald Trump, Darren Hardy, Warren Buffet, Jim Rohn and David Bach to name a few. Watch the David Letterman episode with Donald Trump as guest. Donald was asked a question where his reply was booed by the audience but he came back with a wonderful statement.
As my research deepens, I have found that there are over 1000+ scams, pyramid schemes/MLM out there. Only about 200 companies in direct marketing that are legit. Scammers are anywhere and everywhere and we should be cautious of even donations to cancer research causes, shown in recent news. Furthermore Direct Marketing is not for everyone, not everyone is a leader, not everyone can draw up a business plan, not everyone can work on pure commission, however, I have found in my experience, I am paid what I put into my business. This can be said for any direct marketing company. In my findings on TN, this 17 year old company ( unheard of if a scam, scheme or unethical) they do offer great savings IF you are a person who buys items yearly. If you live pay check to pay check and buy nothing if you can help it, you will not benefit from a membership but can opt to sell memberships for a commission ( as in any commission sales base employment ) to qualified personal, at no cost. This is the individual responsibility to represent their company and, in this case, the membership correctly.
I am glad that you both gave your comments. It helped me tremendously. Rodney your responses felt emotional. Where Sonny had produced facts with an intuitive base. I am not a TN member and I do not sell the memberships. I am solely a small business owner and entrepreneur, the road less traveled, looking for the best direct marketing company to heighten my journey.
I came to this site to see if TN would be crossed of my list of direct marketing options but found that, for me, it the best one so far. One quote before I go: " It's crazy, some people feel that 2-5 years in a direct marketing business, is a long time to get wealthy. But don't feel that 40 years at a job is a long time to stay broke" So choose wisely, qualify quality not quantity.
Thanks for the response Savannah77!
Savannah77, your response was, well written like a true TN member/plant. Lets dissect your post
1) you can save $1600 on cc processing and payroll services. Not likely. I use Paychex payroll now have used ADP in the past and they are ultra competitive with each other. No way would TN be able to touch discounted pricing from these payroll experts. CC processing. Come on, if you have even a so-so relationship with you banker you don't need to mess around with TN getting their fingers in the pie. I call BS on your $1600 savings.
2)Success magazine, Donald Trump, Warren Buffet, and Darren Hardy. Are you kidding me. Success Magazine was bought in 2007 by Video Plus for the express purpose of legitimizing direct marketing (read scammy MLM). Darren Hardy is on the board of directors of this propaganda magazine. Donald Trump has been fined and warned by the state of New York to cease and desist with some of his scammy educational MLM stuff. Warren Buffet (just google Warren Buffet MLM and you will get a better picture). So not sure why pointing out these people and scam magazine have to do with anything other than shoddy research.
3) " I have found that there are over 1000+ scams, pyramid schemes/MLM out there. Only about 200 companies in direct marketing that are legit." Really? you acknowledge by your numbers that the vast majority of MLM's are scams. I agree. MLMs are a scam I would say 100% (even scentsy, pampered chef, Tupperware, all end up in the tank for 99% of the participants)
4) "In my findings on TN, this 17 year old company ( unheard of if a scam, scheme or unethical)" Complete BS. Amway which is the granddaddy of MLM scams is still quote strong after name changes, Federal charges, etc. You use the 17 year thing like "they mus be legit if they have been around that long". No, just lots of suckers.
5) You seem to think TN is noble for letting people sell memberships and earn a commission. What? This is classic MLM structure. Sell memberships to establish your upline/downline and you have the classic pyramid scheme.
6) "I came to this site to see if TN would be crossed of my list of direct marketing options but found that, for me, it the best one so far." No you didn't. You are already a member or employee of TN. You hit all the classic buttons. Act like a concerned prospect, weigh the facts, then conclude that the scammy MLM really is legit.
7) My favorite: "But don't feel that 40 years at a job is a long time to stay broke" So choose wisely, qualify quality not quantity." I love this line from MLM scammers. Everyone that works a 40 hour a week job is broke or stupid, or lazy, etc.. More like everyone that gives their hard earned money to TN is a sucker that has been scammed is a more likely scenario.
Thanks to Savannah77 for that piece of fiction. I am glad that Sonny enjoyed it. He is a big fantasy business fan.
To all the readers out there. AVOID Team National as it will only snatch your money and leave you unhappy. The buyers club is one of the oldest scams on the books. AVOID.
@Rodney
Why such a long, emotionsl "disection" of his response when you admittedly know nothing about Team National? That's why you again couldn't base your response off of facts. Nobody cares what you think...
Sonny, you seem to care. For that we thank you!
Common sense and a brain would tell most normal people to run and not get scammed out the $2195.
TN only wants your $2195 for nothing. AVOID Pyramid scheme MLM
Rodney,
I don't care... I just correct faulty & emotion based arguments when I see them. If you can save back more money then you invest (as I have demonstrated with the very examples that you requested) then it passes every common sense test kmown to man... Just because somebody doesn't believe your "theory" and instead pays attention to the facts doesn't mean they are a "team national plant" either. The responses from our back and forth from other readers says it all :-)
Rodney,
As stated I was researching this company. What I have voiced is truth. I will not argue for my opinion and research to make anyone change their opinion. You obviously don't care for direct marketing of any kind. As for my shoddy research, it's mine and for me. I found great information. I take great regard for successful people and their ideas. This is how I started my Interior Design Firm years ago. Now, I am looking towards the next chapter of my life with my family. As far as the quote I found, I do agree with it, that is why I posted it. Not everyone feels the same, as we have seen in your rebuttal.
As always a big thanks to Sonny for keeping up the comments which in turn push this up the search engines. That allows unsuspecting folks to see there are BIG issues with Team National and all MLM/Pyramid schemes. Thank you.
This website is "Complaints Board" so just by the nature of this website it isn't a good thing for Team National. Team National isn't here by mistake. People have been defrauded by Team National due to the fact that it is a MLM/pyramid scheme. Sonny and Svannah77 can shill for Team National but the fact is you are on a complaint website that has called Team National on their unscrupulous business model.
A new discount addition has just been added to Team National... Team National has now partnered with Sprint! If Sprint is your provider you would save 18% off of your monthly bill by being a Team National Member! Check out the attachment for details :-)
Rodney,
You don't believe that the Team National discount for "ADP" is real? Click on the attachment below for details on the saving's plan :-)
Hey Sonny, This is nothing. You negotiate your rates with ADP & Paychex. I didn't like my recent Paychex rate earlier this year and may account manager gave us a large discount for 2015. You don't understand how ADP and Paychex work.
No need to pay Team National for discounts you can get yourself.
Nolan Power Sectional:
Team National Price: $1, 552.10
Furniturecart.com price: $2, 632.75
Total saving's for being a Team National Member: $1080.65
-The saving's is more than enough to purchase a 2 year Team National Membership for your entire household. Keep in mind that this savinig's is just in a single purchase. Image how much you could save with 2 years worth of discounts that big :-)
Sonny, Still with the BS furniture fake savings. Why would I pay Team National $2195 to be able to pay the going rate on furniture?
Team National is a an old buyers club pyramid scheme. AVOID. Save your money and buy your own furniture at a local store or search the internet. AVOID Team National.
Rodney,
Perhaps reading comprehension isn't one of your strengths... I never said that you had to pay "$2195.00" to purchase that coach at that price. As stated above you can purchase the same coach and save (over a thousand dollars) with a 2 year membership of only $795.00. If the "going rate" on that coach is cheaper somewhere else (as you just suggested) then I eagerly await your cheaper example and where I can purchase it! Thanks in adcance :-)
The $795. Membership is only for 2 years then you have to pay it all over again. The shipping cost is outrageous as well. Everything team national sells I have found cheaper elsewhere. And the cash back on the retail stores is a rip off also. You have to pay $99. A year to have the website when you can get rebates at more stores for free with Ebates.com
How is this "fake savings"? Are you suggesting that I went to the trouble of altering or photo shopping all of my (snap shot) examples just to prove a point with you? Bahahaha GTFOH
-Why would I need to do that when you still are unable to provide a logical argument :-)
Sonny, stop with snapshots of off brand furniture. It proves nothing. The whole point of the buyers club scam is to portray the illusion of lots of savings. Your snapshots prove what? I can get that sectional if I pay TN $2195 first? That is absurd.
You seem infatuated with the furniture, but again it is not a smart move to be paying a direct marketing MLM $2195 now for discounts later. That just makes no sense on any level, which is why the scam is hard sold to relatives and friends and on and on. Furniture is a favorite of the buyers club scam as its really a moving target and almost impossible to do a apples to apples comparison.
No. I would never trust Team National as far as I could throw that sectional. Not sure why anyone would ever put their trust in a MLM pyramid scheme like Team National. AVOID!
Rodney,
You're wrong about ADP. I suggest you read the attachment where it states that the team national discount also applies to current ADP customers... The team national discount is an additional discount to the rate that you're already paying.
Sonny.
That is not how it works. I have a high level of interaction with payroll services. Any fake discount from TN would apply to standard pricing. I have checked with my account rep.
AVOID Team National is a MLM/Pyramid scheme. No need to waste your money on them.
Rodney,
What exactly is "off brand furniture"? Can you give us an example "on brand furniture" just so I know what examples I'm allowed to post... According to your never-ending set of random (discussion) rules I csn only post examples that you approve of :-) Who exactly was it who made you the moderator of this discussion in the first place ?
Rodney,
Nobody has to pay $2195 first... As shown in multiple examples they can pay $785 first (expires in 2 years) and then save well over a thousand during the very first purchase (from the factory direct benefit) :-)
**Correction $795**
rodney,
"Furniture is a favorite of the buyers club scam as its really a moving target and almost impossible to do a apples to apples comparison"
-Really? What other buyers club offers furniture at these discounted rates? It's clearly not impossible to do an "apples to apples comparison" when I have already done it several times with a simple price vs price comparison. It's not rocket science when every other outlet offers higher prices then Team National. Just because you don't like the results of the "apples to apples comparison" doesn't mean it can't be done.
Oh my goodness...I am reading all the posts about how this is a scam and i wish I had never bought a membership and i can only imagine how ignorant these people must be. to say this. Here is the deal...I USE our membership, I PURCHASE items and get money sent back to me. The only, and I mean only way this does not work is if you do not buy things or if you don't know how to use the website to order. This is the only way. I book travel through Expedia, buy groceries from Walmart, buy Christmas presents from Target and Best Buy all using my membership and webpage on my Team National site. God help these people...they are too dumb to help themselves and the ones on this side of the gene pool are looking at them and can"t believe the sheer ignorance and anger...listen to the posts...anger, these people have for being short changed in the brain department.
Rodney,
This is directly from ADP Senior District Manager. Team National members get Additional Savings. Next excuse.
http://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/r4rzcel8h1?popover=true
I joined TN on 6/25/15 and enjoyed the savings of 1200.00 to date on a combination of purchases. Sorry one size doesn't fit all!
Let me tell you a little about Team National. This is definitely not a Pyramid Scam . You don't sell this product to people, you refer it. Explain to these people that might be interested in the savings they can receive in different areas of their purchases. There are so many companies that are a part of Team National. Best Buy, Staples, Tiger Direct to name a few. There are many more. You have to take a look at the list of companies involved with Team National to see the mass amount.. Being a member with a website that's offered by Team National for $75.00 a year you have links to all these companies on your own personalized website. You want to make a purchase of an item ? Go to your website and find the company's link and it will take you to their website. You make a purchase or more and you'll get a percentage commission return from that purchase. It's all laid out to what the percentages are that each company involved will give you back as a commission per purchase . You get a refund check sent to you when you hit a certain level of commission . It's not cost efficient for Team National to send you out a $2.00 check every time you make a purchase. Lets say that when you hit $50.00 in commission savings then Team National will send you a check to your home address on the membership account You can actually set the limit to be higher if you want. If you don't want them to send a check out at $50.00 then you can set it to be sent out when you reach $100 or more. It's all accumulated from the different stores you shop at from the list of companies. There are a lot. Trust me.
Team National members also have access to many Factory Direct outlets. This gives the members major discounts on merchandise to everything from furniture, spas, pool tables, cars, custom motorcycles, trailers, and more. Team National also has a Jewelry and Diamond broker involved with them. Markup on jewelry in retail is almost 300-400%. This is satisfaction guaranteed quality merchandise and it's fantastic quality. My stepfather owns a jewelry store and is a member. He inspected the quality of the merchandise displayed at one of Team National's conventions. Many companies involved with Team National will have displays at the conventions. Also, The conventions announce the new companies that have joined the crew. He brought his jeweler's loop with him as he always does and was very impressed with the quality. There are always new companies becoming a part of Team National.
That explains just some of the savings areas that a person can benefit from being a member. Sure, There's a family package that you can get for $2200. This allows everyone in the family to have access to these savings, We're talking everyone from the children and their children and so forth to the in-laws.. They can save on the same items you do. Also, they can shop off your website and you get the commissions. They save and you also benefit from it. Ex: If you was to purchase a family package and put it under your 94 year old Grandmothers name. Everyone down the bloodline has access to use that Team National account for the savings. If everyone in that bloodline used Grandmother's website to make their everyday item purchases then Grandma's going to be a very happy camper from the commissions she's making
There's a singles package for $750 that's good for 2 years. The family package is infinite as long as Team National is still in business, and trust me they aren't going anywhere soon. Companies are coming to Team National and wanting to be a part of it. Team National isn't out seeking these companies. It's all about group buying power and we have it with our members. I'm a member as if you couldn't tell.
I'd get into the earning portions of Team National and explain that area to you, but I'll leave that up to you. If you're ever interested you can always seek more information.
I personally just bought the Team National package for the savings portion of it. There is a earnings area of these packages also.
Feel free to look in to it in depth. It's all there for you to see. No hidden secrets. Go to www.bign.com and research it yourself. I'm happy with everything about it and that's all that matters to me.
Team National is an old school MLM pyramid scheme buyers club. The savings are not real. The money is getting folks to recruit. I love the part about the affiliates are on the right and left of you instead of above and below. That is comic gold!
In 2016 94% of affiliates made less than $1300 in GROSS revenue per TN's own Federal filing.
AVOID, old school MLM.
I've been a member for 7 years. There is no savings. What you pay 75.00 a year for anyone can get for free with Ebates.com
Cult, scam vague with answers, calling people lazy, claim Christian and all around d rude! And this conclusion within. 1 hrs of b.s.! I will not con friends and family! I have morals u like team national!
I went to a "host" meeting yesterday. It was interesting to say the least. You could look across the room and see who was going to be caught. The house wife that does all the shopping looking at the great discounts(which they say are there but can't see), the man saying heck I know 8 people out of 50 I can sign up... 2200 out the door. Selling dreams.
My problem is this they won't let you look at their website for the discounts before you sign up. Huge flag! Second its a privately owned company so you can't see how they generate revenue. Third I need to look at the incentive structure which is confusing but... I am going out on a limb here... The only way it's sustainable is if you sign more people up.
The reason you cant see the website ahead of joining is because its hard to navigate and there really aren't savings. I mean if there were BIG BIG savings wouldn't they be showing them off?
The whole deal is the recruiting and getting the $2200. Its only sustainable if you can sign up 20+ active participants per year. Sounds like a pyramid scheme hey?
AVOID!
It is a scheme, trust me I got suckered and lied to by Russell Terry and Brad Barton
