Beware: Textbook Maniac is a textbook crook
This isn't the first time I've had trouble with Textbook Maniac. They seem to be a textbook crook, as they took my book and held it for a $4 shipping charge. Not only that, but they claimed that the book was severely damaged, and I know that it wasn't. It was in great condition when I sent it, and it was packed carefully in a sturdy box with bubble wrap. But when they got it, they claimed that it had severe stains and water damage. That just doesn't make sense to me. I think they just took my book for free and then re-sold it for a markup.
When I tried to contact them about it, they were unhelpful and unapologetic. They just said, "Maybe it was damaged in transit." But I know that it wasn't. I think they're just textbook crooks who are trying to make a profit off of unsuspecting people. I would never sell my textbooks through them again. They stole $50 from me, and I'll never get it back.
If you want to avoid being scammed by these textbook crooks, I would recommend burning your old textbooks before giving them to Textbook Maniac. Don't let them steal your stuff or your money. Find a better place to sell your books, where you can trust that you'll get a fair price and your books won't be stolen or damaged.
Beware of Textbook Maniac: A Review of Their Scammy Practices
So, I've gotta tell you about my experience with this here website called Textbook Maniac (you can find it at textbookmaniac.com). They're supposed to be one of those places where you can sell your textbooks, right? Here's the thing though, it's almost too good to be true.
Basically, what happens is you sell them your used textbooks and they give you a way better price than anybody else. That's gotta be your warning sign right there, huh? I mean, how can they afford to pay so much more? But anyways, you go ahead and follow all their directions and ship everything off to them.
Next thing you know, you're waiting and waiting for your payment and nothing comes. A few weeks go by and then finally they hit you with the news. Your book got damaged somehow and it's not worth anything to them. And then, here's the kicker, if you want your book back, you gotta cough up the money to get it shipped back to you. If you don't, they're just gonna “keep” it (which is just a fancy way of saying they're gonna sell it to someone else for way less money).
So basically, they've taken your book for next to nothing and you didn't get a dime for it.
Personally, I think these guys are nothing but common crooks and you should definitely steer clear of them if you value your textbooks (and your wallet!).
Positive Experience Selling Textbooks with Textbook Maniac: A Review
I recently discovered Textbook Maniac and was pleasantly surprised to find that they offer great deals for selling old textbooks. I had a book that I was no longer using and decided to sell it to them. I carefully wrapped it in a ziploc bag to ensure it was protected during shipping and used the poly mailer that they provided, which was free when shipped via USPS media mail.
It took a few days for the book to reach Textbook Maniac, but I was able to track its delivery progress through USPS. Once they received the book, it took them about 2 weeks to inspect it and send me payment. This was the only downside of the process, as I would have liked more communication about the progress of the inspection.
I was pleased to receive payment through PayPal, and I received an email notification from both Textbook Maniac and PayPal. This made it easy and convenient to receive my payment.
Overall, I had a positive experience with Textbook Maniac and would consider doing business with them again in the future. While the process took longer than expected, the price they offered for my book was worth the wait. If you have old textbooks you no longer need, I would recommend giving Textbook Maniac a try.
Disappointing Experience with Textbook Maniac: Proceed with Caution while Selling Textbooks!
When I first heard about Textbook Maniac, I thought it would be a great way to get some extra money for all my old textbooks. Unfortunately, my experience was not great and I wish I had read some of the reviews beforehand.
I sent out six batches of books to various textbook buyback places, but Textbook Maniac was the only company that did not pay me immediately. Instead, I received no communication from them for weeks. Feeling curious and a bit annoyed, I decided to follow up and ask what the status of my books was, as they had been marked as "submitted" for quite some time.
After reaching out to them, I finally got an answer - but it was not what I was hoping to hear. Apparently, my books had gone to a mail recovery center because they were "probably damaged," a response which was not at all satisfactory to me. To make matters worse, when I used the company's preprinted label, I was instructed to follow their exact procedure, with no mention of purchasing additional insurance. As a result, I believed that they had received the books, but were not planning on paying for them.
Feeling like I had been ripped off, I expressed my concerns to their customer service team, but all I got in response was a weak apology. They offered no help with either my books or my money, leaving me feeling immensely frustrated and cheated.
So, in conclusion, I must say that my experience with Textbook Maniac was incredibly disappointing. Not only did they fail to communicate with me about the status of my books for weeks, but they also did not pay me and did not offer any solutions to the problem, leaving me feeling like I had been taken advantage of. If you're considering selling your textbooks through this company, I would advise you to proceed with caution.
Shady Business: A Warning about Textbook Maniac's Deceptive Practices
Yo, gotta listen to all them bad reviews cuz this Textbook Maniac website ain't no good. They straight up lyin' about how much they gonna give ya for your books. As someone runnin' their own biz, I know that makin' money is important, but you can't be shady like that. They be tellin' ya that you gonna get a certain amount for your book, but then they come up with some janky reason to pay you less. Happened to me and other homies too. They bettin' on you not wantin' to deal with mailing the book back and just takin' less cash instead. Not cool, man. Ain't buyin' from them no more and hopin' their shady operation goes down the drain.
Beware of Textbook Maniac: My Experience Selling Back Books
Okay, lemme tell ya about my experience with Textbook Maniac (textbookmaniac.com). I gotta be honest, it weren't great. I sent in a bunch of books to sell back to 'em, just like other folks on here have said, and they only claimed to receive half of 'em. I mean, come on now, I sent 'em all in the same box so what gives? They told me it was because of the Postal Service, but when I talked to USPS they had a picture of the dang box in the same condition I sent it in! Something smells fishy here, I tell ya what.
And it ain't just the money, it's the principle. These folks don't seem to care about their customers at all. They just wanna make sure nobody thinks they're stealin' from folks. But what about people like me who lost out on cash? They don't seem to give two hoots about us.
So yeah, I gotta say, don't use Textbook Maniac. There's plenty of other places to sell your books back to that won't give you the runaround like this. And hey, if you're worried about shipping, apparently around the holidays you can ask USPS for a photo verification for heavier packages. So keep that in mind folks. Don't let these guys rip you off like they did to me.
Stay Away from Textbook Maniac: Fraudulent Company Steals from Customers
to delay my payment. They took forever to process my order and once they finally did, they claimed that some of the books were damaged and that they couldn't accept them. I knew this wasn't true because I had just shipped them and they were in great condition.
After weeks of trying to communicate with them, I finally gave up and decided to write this review to warn others. It's ridiculous that companies like textbook maniac exist and are allowed to scam innocent people out of their hard-earned money. I urge you, do not do business with this company. They are unprofessional, unethical, and untrustworthy.
I cannot comprehend why any legitimate website would allow textbook maniac to operate through their platform. They are clearly a fraudulent company that steals from their customers. It's a shame that I had to learn about their deceit the hard way, but I hope that my experience can save you from making the same mistake.
If you're looking to sell your textbooks, I suggest you find another company to work with. You don't deserve to be scammed and lied to, especially when you're simply trying to make some extra cash. Don't let textbook maniac ruin your experience. Stay away from them at all costs!
Textbook Maniac Review: Legit Platform to Sell Your Books & Earn Cash Fast
So, I had to go to my homie Google, and search for some online options to sell my books, because I was in a bit of need for some extra cash. Found textbookmaniac.com and went on there to see how it worked. Decided to give it a try after seeing that they pay through Zelle, because I always like to get my money fast.
Sent my book in by shipping it from Book Deals. Some of the reviews on here had me trippin’, but I had faith that my book was in good condition and all I had to do was follow their rules. The book was not one of the special editions or instructor editions, so I knew that was all good. I also made sure to take pictures of my book to prove its condition, and packaged it well. Used lots of bubble wrap to make sure it didn't bounce around during shipping, and even removed all the stickers and sticker residue from the book.
It took around two weeks for it all to go down, but it was all good. I saw that the status had changed to Awaiting Payment about a week and half after I had shipped it. Then, within a couple of days, got all the dinero sent to my account with Zelle. Straight up and honest. Got the exact amount they said they'd give me based on the book's condition that I had described beforehand.
I’d totally use these folks again and score some extra funds. Way better than trying to sell on Facebook Marketplace, cus’ I put it on there for like a month at $35 and nobody even holla’d at me. But hey, textbookmaniac.com hooked me up with almost $90 for it. They be legit.
Scam Alert: Textbook Maniac Review, Don't Sell Your Books Here!
DO NOT GIVE YOUR BOOKS TO TEXTBOOK MANIAC! Yo, I'm telling you, I wish I looked into these guys before I let them scam me. They said they'd give me almost $150 for my six textbooks, but after waiting for about a million years for them to process it, they told me that three books were missing. Lies, bruh, because I know for a fact that I sent in all my books! And to make it worse, they tried to say that it was 'cause of water damage or something like that. Like, come on, why they gotta be so sketchy? And then they said the box was messed up, but like, how is it that only three books go missing if the whole box was damaged? Shady, man. On top of that, I asked them for proof with photos and they couldn't even give me that. Total rip-off artists, I swear. Don't make the same mistake I did, take your business somewhere else that's legit and won't lie to your face.
Warning: Do Not Sell to Textbook Maniac
I just want to tell you about my recent experience with Textbook Maniac. I wasn't very happy with their service at all. I sent them four books that were in almost new condition, and waited about 3-4 weeks before I heard back from them. They finally contacted me today and said that only three of the books had been received and that I had forgotten to send the fourth. I was confused and a little upset, so I called to try to clear things up.
One of their employees told me that the fourth book was missing, and that the package was probably damaged in transit. I asked to see some pictures of the box as proof, but the employee changed his story and claimed there was no damage to the box. He then suggested that I was the one who lost the book. I knew that this was impossible, because I had weighed the books and the shipping box, and everything seemed to match up correctly.
One of the things that bothers me about this situation is that there are many reviews that describe similar situations to mine. It makes me think that this is not an isolated incident, but is instead a common practice for Textbook Maniac. I'm not really even worried about the money, it's just that it seems like a scam.
I recently received an email from a different employee named Amy, who told me that all four books had been received but one was not sellable. This account contradicted their previous story and caught them in a lie. I am convinced that they are either reselling books for their own profit or just not bothering to return them. I am telling you all this to warn you and keep you from making the same mistake that I did. Do not sell anything to Textbook Maniac.

Stolen Textbooks
I used bookdeals website to sale my used textbooks. Bookmaniac agreed to buys my books for $61. I shipped my books with the USPS prepaid shipping label they gave me. I received a message on my bookdeals account that my 7lb packaged arrived opened and empty. Now based on bookdeals policy they don't have to pay me for my books and they can't send my books back to me because "the package was empty."
Desired outcome: I need to be paid $61 for the books I mailed to Textbook Maniac and that USPS delivered to them. USPS would not have delivered an empty, opened box. BookDeals needs to drop TextbookManiac as a buyer
Selling textbooks to Textbook Maniac: My honest experience
So, I was a bit worried about selling my textbook to Textbook Maniac at first, because I read a few reviews that weren't so positive. But, when I looked around their website, I saw that they were actually offering the best price for my particular book, so I thought I'd give it a go.
I will say, I wasn't expecting much from the process, and I was a little nervous when I sent my book off. But, after waiting a few weeks, I received an email saying that they'd sent payment to my PayPal account.
I didn't remember exactly what the quoted amount was, but I was relieved to see that there was some money there nonetheless. And, honestly, that was good enough for me!
So, based on my experience, I would say that Textbook Maniac is not a total scam! Sure, there might be some hiccups here and there, but if you're willing to take the chance, you might just come out ahead.
Beware of Textbook Maniac: Poor Customer Service and Unreliable Payment
I was going through some stuff in my house and I found some old textbooks. I figured I could get a bit of money for them, so I looked around online for a place to sell them. I ended up stumbling upon Textbook Maniac and they offered me around 60 bucks for my books. I thought that was a pretty good deal, so I sent my books to them in good faith.
I used a tracking number to keep an eye on the package and it seemed to get delivered without any issues. However, when I contacted Textbook Maniac to ask about my payment, they told me that my books had been damaged in transit. I was pretty upset, since I had mailed them in good condition and they were worth quite a bit to me.
To make matters worse, the folks at Textbook Maniac didn't offer to do anything to help me out. They basically told me there was nothing they could do and that was that. I didn't get my books back and they didn't give me a refund for the cost of shipping. I felt like I had been taken advantage of and it left a really bad taste in my mouth.
Overall, I would caution anyone against using Textbook Maniac. They may seem like a good deal at first, but be aware that they may not have your best interests in mind. If you do decide to use them, make sure you keep an eye on your package and ask for updates. Unfortunately, this was a really negative experience for me and I wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through it.

Warning: Terrible Experience with Textbook Maniac - Not a Legitimate Company!
Listen up, folks! I gotta tell you about my experience with Textbook Maniac (textbookmaniac.com). Let me tell you, it was not a good one. I wish I had read the other reviews before I did business with them. They are not a legitimate company, if you know what I mean.
So, I sent in my books to sell to them and they quoted me a price of $49. I was pretty happy with that price, you know? But then, they dropped the price to $0 on account of "water damage". What a load of crap! My books were in perfect condition. I believe this was just another one of their scams to get more money out of me.
Here's the kicker, they won't even return my books unless I pay for the shipping! Can you believe that? They're just trying to get more money out of me. It's ridiculous.
So, if you've had a similar experience with Textbook Maniac, make sure you file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It's time we put a stop to this scam!
Textbook Maniac: A Disorganized Disaster - Customers Beware!
This Textbook Maniac company is a bit of a mess, to be honest. I sent in an order a whole week ago and they haven't done a thing with it - apparently it's just sitting in their warehouse collecting dust. I'm really irritated by this and won't be selling my books to them again. I've used a bunch of other companies like this before and never had a problem like this. It's unacceptable to have to wait weeks after they received my package for them to do anything with it. They really need to get their act together over there at Textbook Maniac! Just read what the customers are saying in these reviews - clearly there's a lot that they need to fix up in how they're running things in their warehouse.
Warning: Textbook Maniac is a Scam!
I wished I could leave them less than one star, but it's just not possible! I gave Textbook Maniac my textbook that was in great shape and I bought from my university. They said that my book was a "fake" and they would not pay for it. I also asked them to return the book to me, but they said that a refund is not possible because that goes against their "rules". After showing them that I had bought it from the university bookstore, they still would not pay me for it or send it back. I would highly suggest that you do not send Textbook Maniac your books because they aren't honest at all. They are criminals and their "rules" are only meant to steal from college students! This is a total scam, don't fall for it!
Textbook Maniac Review: Stay Away, Shady Shipping Tactics & Poor Customer Service
My experience with Textbook Maniac was not great. They gave me a gloriously high payout, so I decided to sell my textbooks to them. But, they only sent me a shipping label for Media Mail. I kind of had a feeling about that but thought, "eh, what could go wrong?" Well, apparently, a lot. Media Mail is infamously slow and unreliable. I watched the tracking information like a hawk and saw it made its way over to their location in Huntsville, AL. But then, the updates just stopped coming. I have a sneaky suspicion that the package was delivered but not scanned. When I reached out to Textbook Maniac about this, they gave me a runaround with their confusing and conflicting responses. I diligently sent a boatload of emails, and still, nothing. So if you're thinking about selling to them, I'd say, steer clear.
Textbook Maniac is a Fraud - Don't Trust Them with Your Books!
So, I was a bit skeptical about this Textbook Maniac website after reading some of the reviews, but I decided to give them a shot and send them my textbook anyway. I made sure to double check that it wasn't a teacher's or international edition, just like the other reviews suggested.
But, as luck would have it, I received an email from Textbook Maniac saying that they wouldn't pay me for my book because it was an international edition. I couldn't believe it! It's hard to understand how a company can just steal from people like that by lying.
I'm warning you guys, please don't send your books to this company. They'll take your books, lie to you about them, and then refuse to pay you. This company is a complete and total fraud!
I'm still trying to figure out why Textbook Maniac would do something like this. All I know is that I wasted my time and energy sending them my textbook. I should've trusted my instincts and avoided this site altogether.
Beware of Textbook Maniac: A Disappointing Experience
I gotta say, I do not agree with the hype that Textbook Maniac is all about. I ordered my copy of the book and boy was I disappointed! The book was not in good shape and looked like it had been sitting in someone's basement for years. It was raggedy and downright gross. And when I tried talking to the people at Textbook Maniac, they basically told me "tough luck, buddy." Like, really? You're not even gonna try to help me out here?
But the worst part was when I found out that they thought my book was a counterfeit. Like, what the heck?! I know this book is authentic - I bought it brand new! But they didn't seem to care. They just wanted to take my book away and give me nothing in return.
I know the textbook industry is a crock of crap, but I thought maybe Textbook Maniac could be different. But nope, they're just another face of the same old problem. They pretend to care about helping students save money, but really they just want to make a buck off of us. I won't be using this company again, and neither should you. Steer clear of Textbook Maniac if you value your time, money, and sanity.
Beware of Textbook Maniac: Unreliable Service, False Promises, and Shady Practices
So, I had this experience with Textbook Maniac and it was pretty disappointing, to say the least. I had six books that I wanted to sell and I got a quote from them for $67.95. Seemed like a good deal so I sent the books out with the label they provided me. However, the label didn't cover the whole shipping cost, so I had to pay $3.50 for shipping. Not a big deal, I thought, since I was going to get a decent amount for my textbooks in return.
But the next day, I was shocked to find out that the quote had been slashed to an insulting $0.47! They didn't even have the decency to give me a heads-up before making such a dramatic change. Of course, I was upset and immediately contacted them through email hoping to resolve the issue. But lo and behold, they don't have a phone number! Seriously, how am I supposed to deal with this now? Anyway, they told me that they only received one book, which was a huge lie. How could one book weighing over 15lbs be the only one that made it to them? It was clear that they were just trying to rip me off.
Sadly, there's nothing I could do about it. The only proof I had was the original quote they provided me, and as it turned out, it was just a false promise. To make matters worse, they never even paid me the measly $0.44 they promised!
In summary, I'm highly dissatisfied with Textbook Maniac and would NOT recommend them. If you're looking to sell your textbooks, do yourself a favor and steer clear of these guys. Their lack of communication, false promises, and shady practices are just not worth the headache.
Terrible Experience with Textbook Maniac: Missing Books and Rude Customer Service
So, I sent all my texty-books to Textbook Maniac about 6 weeks ago. They got the whole lot around 2 weeks ago and all seemed fine until today when I received an email saying they couldn't find a couple of my books. Here we go - they want to reduce my payment! No way, Jose! I got on the phone and that's when the problems really started. This person I spoke to was so rude. Can you imagine, they even called me Karen just cos I was questioning their decision?
I asked for proof - like a picture or something to show that they actually received the box with two books missing. But no, she wouldn't give me that. Then I asked for a manager - but would she put me through? No, no, no! She was the boss and I was stuck with her - but what could I do?
But then it got even worse - she tells me that this happens all the time and that it's nothing to do with her, it's the shipper's fault. Oh, great! Can I have my books back then, please? But they won't do that, you see, so we're at an impasse.
In conclusion, and you'll understand why, DO NOT USE TEXTBOOK MANIAC!
