At first glance this place looks like a stand-up school, however, inside there is a lot more going on. I have experienced countless complaints from employees about unfair treatment as well as negligence. The business owner as well as director do not know how to effectively run a business and it shows. I have also experienced a situation in which one customer/parent noticed that they had been charged twice for one month, and they management staff refused to acknowledge this complaint and made continued excuses when the individual asked for a refund. There is a VERY high turnover rate with employees and they management staff does not prepare the parents for these changes. This makes it very difficult on the children as well as for parent/teacher communication. I have seen teachers just disappear without anyone even informing parents or staff that they will no longer be there. This is a very stressful situation and it make me very wary to even consider enrolling my child in this program. If they can't keep their staff under control, who's to say they are able to take care of my child?

I am Kimberly Kick, owner of The Goddard School located in Orange, CT. I appreciate feedback from prospective and current families (as well as ex-employees) and I would like to take this opportunity to address the concerns discussed. The health and safety of the children in our care is, and always has been, our top priority. We are dedicated to providing quality education and a nurturing atmosphere. In addition, our current faculty is comprised of professionals; all lead teachers must have a degree in early childhood education or a related field. Our School also offers GSU (Goddard Systems University) to support the ongoing training of teachers by providing regional classes each quarter as well as on-site training.

I welcome you, and all prospective parents, to stop by The Goddard School to see our program in action, meet me, our Education Directors, as well as our amazing faculty of teachers. If you should have any questions or feedback, I encourage you to call us directly at [protected]. You may also contact the Goddard corporate office at [protected] or 800-GODDARD.

I'm a current employee of a Goddard school in NC. Full-time, with a BS in Early Childhood and working towards my Master's Degree in Ed. I am also so poorly paid that I qualify for assistance in the county where I live. I've been trying to get another job for about 6 months now, as are many of my coworkers. I wanted to shed some light into one of the systemic problems that affects both staff and parents--and what I feel is the chief cause of the high turnover that so many schools in this corporation seem to be dealing with.

I currently work at the Goddard school located in Owasso, OK. I'm very disappointed with the owner and director of the school. I have an associates degree in elementary education and working towards my BS. I'm poorly paid as a lead teacher with an assistant that has a better earlier shift who does attend school. The employees are rarely allowed time to go to the bathroom throughout the day and most of the time we are out of ratio with children because we don't have the requirement of staff members to have a Goddard running the min. is 25 and we have about 18. The owner makes employees clock out but stay after to work on their room off the clock.. Doesn't make sense to any of the staff and employees are told that their responsible for buying cleaning supplies for their own room. The teachers are poorly paid and not appreciated like they should be. Many of the staff members are looking for new jobs.

I am no longer an employee of the Goddard School in Ft. Mitchell, Ky for many reasons. First, the director and owner of the school have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I personally went to the owner and director of the school to complain about an assistant toddler teacher. I worked with this person on a regular basis and noticed some very aggressive behavior toward the children. I also noticed scare tactics being used as well in order to get the children to listen and behave. There was in incident where this teacher actually used a water bottle to squirt a child who was not listening. I knew that I was the second teacher to make a complaint against this particular assistant along with two parents that complained as well. I was told by both the director and the owner that they would speak to the assistant teacher. After speaking with her the assistant reacted so badly that I was actually removed from the classroom because I could no longer work with the assistant. She proceeded to be so nasty and tell other teachers about the fact that I complained that working with her was intolerable. I spoke the the owner and assistant again and they both told me that they did not want to fire her because they wanted to give her another chance. Really? We're they waiting for another child to get hurt or scared again while being under the care of this assistant. I was eventually moved into pre-toddler but I was not as happy and was very upset with the way the whole situation was handled. I was very suprised the situation was being dealt with in such a way since the owner was already involved an a lawsuit involving neglence of a former student from Goddard. So, I decided to quit and move on to another school. I think it is very hard to work as an assistant teacher at a school that you know that you would never allow your own children to attend.
