We chose Tipping Hat to upgrade / replace our furnace and air conditioner and have been very pleased with the level of service we received
We chose Tipping Hat to upgrade / replace our furnace and air conditioner and have been very pleased with the level of service we received. From the initial visit and qoute to the final instal we have received professional and courteous service from everyone at Tipping Hat. We needed to upgrade our aging HVAC system after finishing our basement. We reached out to three companies to give us qoutes. While Tipping Hat was not the cheapest option, we ultimately selected them because of their professionalism, their service commitment and product line. We strongly believe that you get what you pay for and it is worth paying a few extra dollars to get great service. That has proven true with Tipping Hat. Tipping Hat has provided us with clear communication throughout the process and answered questions along the way. The day of install went very smoothly and the men who did the install were all top notch! We ran into a slight hiccup with connecting our new smart thermostat to our wifi, but we had a follow up appointment the next day and Tipping Hat got it all up and going for us. We highly recommend Tipping Hat for anyone needing HVAC work done in their home.
What a reputable, honest, and trustworthy company!
What a reputable, honest, and trustworthy company! All in all they did a professional job in 1. clearing out the old cast iron in my basement and replacing it with new piping and 2. installing a brand new tankless water heater. All the way from the beginning with Zach who came out did the estimate and figured out what was wrong with the drain overflowing in my basement to Dan N. and Jordan W. who did the actual removal of the old piping and putting in the new pipes. Even though there were some bumps in the project, the guys were completely up front and transparent about any new developments. Zach followed up and kept in contact with me and answered all of my questions in a timely fashion. I really am grateful that after 12 years and spending over $10,000.00 with other plumbing companies, I finally have rectified all of the issues in my basement thanks to the wonderful team at Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating & Electric. It is a relief to find a company that has such honest, competent, and reliable people working for them. I would most definitely recommend them because they will do a quality professional job and I will personally be using their services in the future!
DON'T CALL THEM , THEY WILL S YOU I called to have my furnace cleaned and have an electrician stop by. I set my appointment two and half weeks out for the same day. On that day the electrician canceled. I got my 30 min call from the hvac guy. Instead of the tech showing up to do the job I had a supervisor show up and he pulled the cover off and said I can't do the job today I'm a supervisor. That made no sense to me at all. I scheduled a cleaning and someone shows up that doesn't do cleaning. So it was scheduled the next day. Two guys show up and want to take the whole furnace apart to inspect and clean it. It was scheduled as a cleaning. Since that's all I wanted was a cleaning they would not do it and left. The rescheduled day for the electrician the window was 3-5pm . No one called or showed up. Since they didn't make there window they just don't show up at all. You as the customer have to call the next day to reschedule. Talk about customer service... I had 2 jobs scheduled and waisted 3 of my days with this company. To have had nothing done. STAY AWAY , DON'T CALL THEM This is probably the worst company I've ever dealt with for a service call.DO NOT CALL THEM ... THEY DON'T CARE .Call a local person to help you Save your self the headache
C - very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Fixed a drain in under an hour that we had two previous plumbers from a different company both said it couldnt be fixed.
Tipping Hat Review. My experience with Tipping Hat has been fantastic. I spent some time researching, comparing, obtain quotes from four different companies and am pleased that Tipping Hat proved me right in having selected them for my broken A/C replacement and new unit install in March . I am also happy to say that I have not had one single problem. The communication and response from this company from my initial call has been amazing! I had the pleasure of working with several of their team members, because they always responded no matter what my inquiry was about, receiving replies and follow-up from *** and ***. I only hope I didnt forget a name! After that I received contact from *** notifying me of incentive offers. This helped me confirm they were the right choice. Then I had visits and follow-*** from ***, who made perfect sense of everything for me. She was wonderful from beginning to end and it was clear that she very much cared about quality, and with ensuring that I understood and was satisfied with the product recommendation and ready for the next step. The paperwork and approval process was so streamlined and simple due to them using advanced transaction technology, which I personally always hope for. The equipment install of the A/C, lines, electrical/thermostat and new return air box riser handled by ***, and *** was incredible!Helping to wrap things up for me was *** and ***, all of whom responded with great consideration and professionalism to my crazy questions.I have since referred Tipping Hat to my Supervisor where I work, and I give this company a BIG thumbs up!
Long term customer here, who has decided to find another provider due to extremely poor customer service for the 3rd time now. Most recently, I scheduled an appointment more than two months out (as I was told the annual service appointments could not be scheduled until September). Given how far out the appointment was I followed up periodically to confirm the appointment, with the last confirmation call happening yesterday. Today my arrival window was 1-3 pm, and so I asked my husband to call and see approximately what time we could expect the technician since we were already within the window, and we were going to need to drive to the service address. When he called he was told we were rescheduled to Tuesday. Really? How did they even know we would be available on Tuesday? And when were they planning on telling us about the reschedule? We wouldn't have known about being rescheduled unless we called. Turns out they had us scheduled with a tech that wasn't even working that day, which means I should have been contacted in the morning as soon as the mistake was caught. I found that out when I called to say that I needed them to come today as promised, reminding them I had explained when I set up the appointment that I needed to work around the schedule of those that reside in the home. They said, "your husband agreed" to the reschedule. Really? I called 5 minutes after he said OK (as he wasn't given an option), and found out even if he hadn't said yes there was nothing the scheduler could have done as they had no one to do the work. Normally, I would not write up a review like this after one bad experience, but as this is the third very poor customer service experience where the company doesn't take any responsibility for their poor processes and/or systems or the inconvenience to their customers, I felt it was important to share my experience.

My AC stopped working in the evening on 6/16. I called Tipping Hat on 6/17 -- the person answering the phone (Jamie?) checked for 1st available appointment. She said they must have just gotten a cancellation and could come out the next day (6/18) between 12 - 2. At 2:45 on 6/18 I called to ask why no one had shown up. She told me that they called me at 11:30 to say they weren't coming and I had to reschedule. The next available appt was July 1st. I received NO call from them and don't understand the lie... Why schedule me and then decide not to show up. Poor communication and customer service!
I hAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH TIPPING HAT. THEY WERE TO COME BETWEEN 9 AND 11 TODAY, aUGUST 3. i WAITED UNTIL 11 30 AND WHEN I FINALLY REACHED THEM THEY SAID THE TECHNICIAN WAS HAVING PROBLEMS SOMEWHERE ELSE AND THEY NEED TO RESCHEDULE. I DIDN'T RECEIVE A CALL FROM THEM, AND WASTED MY WHOLD DAY! DO NOT USE THEM- UNRELIABLE!
We were very pleased with our service from Tipping Hat Plumbing
We were very pleased with our service from Tipping Hat Plumbing. Brian responded quickly for our request for an assessment and estimate of replacement of galvanized piping after a crawl space leak. He thoroughly explained what steps were needed, what methods would be used and what the cost would be after checking for available discounts we could utilize. He was thoughtful to suggest creating an in- house shut-off valve, as we only had one in the crawl space. He also chose frost free outdoor faucets and Pex A tubing, which is the most flexible and resistant to freeze damage. He also suggested accessing two outdoor faucets inside the house versus dismantling outer brick wall sections to economize cost and maintain structural integrity. On day one he then explained the job to fellow service pros Elijah and Jordan, who carried out the demo phase efficiently. Elijah and Jordon created a temporary water line so we would have water the first night. The tubing installation of went smoothly on the second day. We were always given updates as to when the team would arrive each day. They worked full days, one day without lunch, including New Years Eve Day. The Team also respected Covid safety guidelines consistently through their work. Finally the whole team was professional, personable and conscientious.
We contacted Tipping Hat for questions and help with inspection - Jamie assisted us. Timely and very helpful. Thank you.
We had Tipping Hat install a new water heater in January and all went well. In May, we needed their service again and scheduled a week ahead of time for May 12 (between 2-4). The morning of May 12 Tipping Hat canceled and we rescheduled for May 15 (between 11-1). They cancelled again. I did not wait for third (strike) before I called them "out". That project was completed with another plumbing source. I now have an appointment with Tipping Hat for June 4. I would like this one to stick.
I made an appointment with Tipping Hat 3 weeks ago for a simple maintenance check on my A/C. They gave me a 2-hour window for Friday, May 28th between 2pm and 4pm. I called them at 3:45pm on May 28th to see what the status was. They said they were too busy to deal with a maintenance call. They had no intention of letting me know ahead of time. They just left me hanging for that 2-hour window. Very unprofessional. I guess if my A/C was broke and they had an opportunity to sell me a new A/C, they would have shown up. I don't know how the rest of their customers are treated, but they left a bad taste in my mouth from this experience. Not cool.
I originally had an appointment set for Friday between 2-4pm and when it approached around 3:30 I called to confirm my appointment. Whoever answered the phone stated that there was not an appointment scheduled and no one could come out. To say the least; I was very upset. However, within 10 mins I received a call that someone would be out within 30 mins. Once *** arrived, he was very professional, confident in what he was doing and very pleasant. It started off with a hiccup; however, ended with a very good outcome. I will definitely be using this company in future for my plumbing needs.
First of all it was a pleasure meeting the team who service my house in which I needed a furnace fix
First of all it was a pleasure meeting the team who service my house in which I needed a furnace fix. Michael the rep went into my crawl space took pictures to show me the problem. He said it's fixable but he also gave me other alternatives to replace my 40 year old furnace, which was the route I took, since the price to fix was practically the price for a new one.but an extra $2000.00 more. So we went new. I choose our product and Michael left my house with a couple of space heaters to keep us going until the install 4 days later. He was very polite and said we will take very good care of you. Four days later the installers Tyler and Jay arrived on time to get started they both showed the quality of professionalism you rarely fine theses days in techs, they both even had a little humor to share in their field of expertise. They both cleaned up well where needed after the work was completed, they answered all our questions and even gave us tips on how to take care of our hot water heater, when that wasn't even part of the project. These guys went above and beyond their install for us with the water heater questions and teaching two senior citizens how to use a smart thermostat. Thanks Michael they did take good care of us. Thanks Tyler and Jay for your hard work and humor. I would ask for these techs again if needed service.
Tipping hat did an excellent job installing a tankless water heater for me
Tipping hat did an excellent job installing a tankless water heater for me. They prefer the *** model, which is what I wanted from the research I did. Of particular mention should be Jessica who always kept me informed on the scheduling and Jacob. Jacob was the installer who showed up on schedule and PPE prepared. He answered all of my questions, and kept me informed all along the way. He was extremely knowledgeable. He recommended a location that would easily allow a good basement finish if I chose to do that later. He didn't rush through anything and his work was absolutely perfect, even making a couple of changes to fit my home specifically. When completed he ran through the system with me and cleaned everything up. During this Covid19 pandemic, the city of Aurora apparently changed to doing virtual inspections, which wasn't communicated to anyone. Because Jacob was so adept at handling everything and never got flustered, he took care of the inspection, explaining and showing everything to the inspectors on his phone. Of course, the inspection was aced. Jacob also installed the *** (remote control) option and even made sure I had it all set up and working before he left. I'm not sure I've seen that kind of customer service in a long time! It was apparent that the quality of service and respect for customers is a theme with this company top to bottom. I will be using Tipping Hat again and wholeheartedly recommend them!
I am looking for a specific brand heat pump to be installed
I am looking for a specific brand heat pump to be installed. Tipping Hat was the first (within minutes) to reply to a Homeadviser.com recommendation. I had them send out someone to get a quote on a Friday and was told they would have it on Tuesday. I didn''t get the quote until over a week later. I asked for a detailed quote on a specific product and what I got was a PDF with a bunch of pictures on two cheap brands and an over inflated cost of over twelve thousand dollars with absolutely no details or break down on cost or products that were to be installed other then things like the filter box and gas valve that never wear out and don't need replacing. I was texted by their salesman asking when they could schedule the install after I replied to the quote saying I wanted a detailed break down of cost and specific model numbers of the equipment they wanted to install. I referred him back to my email. I must add that I'm not at all uneducated and have been in the automotive AC trade for a number of years so I have a very good understand how a heat pump works and what is needed to install one. I also have children that work in the field of installing and servicing in the HVAC industry (although they live in another state) so I know when people are trying to take advantage of me. I will at this point recommend that you do NOT use this company for anything as they seem to be just trying to scam people and charge out of line prices for unnecessary work and product.
I ultimately hired Tipping Hat to replace my water heater system after several other much higher estimates
I ultimately hired Tipping Hat to replace my water heater system after several other much higher estimates. I'm certainly glad I did! From start to finish they did great work. Our installers Jordan S. and Troy were really fantastic! They were timely, knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. They built a new system that looked very professional, paying close attention to all of the details. They definitely knew what they were doing installing a parallel dual heater system. Unfortunately, the recirc pump malfunctioned and even though we had ample hot water in the new tanks, it took far too long to deliver it to our faucets (like 4+ minutes). Tipping Hat was very responsive to our concerns and sent Dominic C. and Austin H.out to troubleshoot the system. Dominic was meticulous in going step by step in order to diagnose the problem on a very large and complex system. The first solution didn't work, but took a day to realize. I called Tipping Hat and advised them and they had Dominic back out immediately. The next step was to replace the recirculation pump which ended up doing the trick! Hot water immediately out of every faucet! I couldn't be happier even though the work took a few weeks from start to finish. Tipping Hat was so responsive and never quit until we were happy with the outcome. I want to give Dominic special recognition as he not only solved the problem, he assured me he would not quit until he did which proved to be the case. His professionalism and integrity are beyond reproach and I would highly recommend Dominic, Jordan and the folks at Tipping Hat.
Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating and Electric did a wonderful job installing our Central air, furnace and hot water heater
Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating and Electric did a wonderful job installing our Central air, furnace and hot water heater. We were vary pleased from the start with Diane's explanation of the services they would provide and the friendly communication back and forth even when she was off the clock. The technicians were prompt and on time even though it was cold and snowy the morning of installation. Sean and James came in introduced themselves and got right to work. From start to finish they were vary professional and respectful making sure they wore a mask and foot coverings while in our house at all times. As they got closer to the time they said they would finish they did bring in some extra hands to make sure the job was completed on time. The work does appear to be done well as there was a small issue with the power blinking off and on immediately after installation. The short answer could have been to give it a day or so and see what happens as they explained this has never happened with any other installation but instead Diane reached out immediately to Ken who sent John *, the supervisor to personally check things out. His finding was that it could have possibly been an Xcel issue. Since then the company has been in constant contact with us making sure things are running smoothly. We have not run the air as of yet, so I really cannot give an update on that and would certainly love to do so once we are using it. Overall I am satisfied with this company and I appreciate their commitment to their customers. I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of their services. Thank you!

Back in the beginning of February our upstairs furnace went out
Back in the beginning of February our upstairs furnace went out. We were faced with decision of repairing it or buying a new one. Buying a new one also meant replace our AC condensor which was hooked up to it and was actually leaking coolant onto our furnace. Just repairing the furnace did not solve the condenser problem and Tipping Hat advised us to go with the replacement as the financially sound move. It then became a question of what to do with the downstairs furnace. It was the same age as the upstairs furnace but did not have the coolant leaking problem and was not experiencing any problems. We decided to replace the downstairs unit too because it would reduce our heating costs, save on Tipping Hat labor and reduce the number of times the county would have to come out to our house for inspections. The upstairs furnace and condenser replacement went just fine, but the downstairs furnace replacement had many problems Tipping Hat was out to our house 5 or 6 times to repair but could not make the new furnace fully reliable so they decided to replace the new unit. It took them less than a week to schedule a replacement even though temperatures were below freezing and Tipping Hat's staff was receiving over 200 calls per day for support. The new team of Floyd and Corey arrived on time and brought us out a higher end, Prestige Series unit. They installed the new furnace quickly and checked it out totally. They were courteous, worked in a very clean manner and answered all our questions. We are very happy with them. Our only question is why the old downstairs furnace was not a Prestige Series model. The unit they installed for our upstairs was. It seems like the two units should have been comparable and that would have saved us all a lot of time and effort.

Overall, we really appreciate the professionalism and punctuality of Tipping Hat!
Overall, we really appreciate the professionalism and punctuality of Tipping Hat! At the townhome that I property manage, Tipping Hat did a wonderful job in getting us a punctual quote & had a new water heater installed for us 3 days later. Everything there turned out wonderfully! Since the water heater install went so well at the townhouse, I had a tech come out and do a basic drain & tune up of our water heater. The tech did a good job with the flush (which was definitely needed after seeing the gunk that came out of the water heater), but problems ensued afterwards. The tech wasn't able to turn the water back on to our house, so he investigated that issue further and determined one of our valves had broken that controls the main water shutoff to our house. He said since it was an older type valve, we really need to have it replaced anyway since those types break easily. Well, he gave us a quote to get both valves replaced (since the other valve was the same old type that could break easily) and that quote was for around $1,000. My husband and I looked at each other and both of us thought "How did a standard $49 flush & tune-up just turn into a $1K bill?" So we asked the tech if he could possibly come back later as we wanted to get a 2nd opinion (thankfully my Father-in-law has built a couple houses in the past so we had him come take a look). Well, my Father-in-law turned those valves both directions a bit harder than the tech did and voila, water came back on to our whole house! I will say, though, that the water pressure at certain sinks in our home has not returned to normal which is frustrating. All in all, I don't think there was anything malicious done and that the Tipping Hat tech really was there to do an honest tune-up. But when he quoted us $1K to fix an issue that wasn't actually an issue, and we're still dealing with water pressure issues, it's frustrating (still hoping to talk more with their supervisors also). Great company overall, we would use again!
Our review starts back in September
Our review starts back in September. We had a maintenance contract with Tipping Hat and asked then to come out to check our furnaces. At the same time we asked to have a quotation for what it would take to replace our furnaces and air conditioner. Tipping Hat found some problems with our furnaces and took action to repair them. We were very happy with their technical services. Fast forward now to February. Our upstairs furnace was not heating and we thought the problem was with our thermostat. Tipping Hat came out the same day and told us that the corrective actions taken in September had not totally worked. As a result our upstairs furnace was not working correctly. We had to decide if we were going to repair the furnace so it could work until it failed again because the root cause was with the air conditioner or were we going to replace the failing furnace. At this time we still had not received the quotation we requested in September. We were shown our replacement options on an IPOD but did not get a print out. The Tipping Hat team was available the very next day to do the replacement and we decided to go with the open window. As a result we did the replacement sorting out the details on the fly. It was a mistake on our part. We have asked sales to call us now after the upgrade so we can be comfortable with the costs but now 2 weeks later we have not received a return call to answer our questions. The technical team was courteous and very efficient. They replaced two furnaces and an air conditioner is less than 8 hours. They added a humidifier and two air scrubbers on the furnaces on the fly. They were very flexible. On the bad side they spilled glue on our utility room floor and then let dirt from the air ducts fall into it creating a mess. It took us 3 days to clean that mess up and we still do not have all the glue cleaned up. We are not happy with that aspect of the installation. Then the downstairs furnace malfunctioned. To their credit Tipping Hat came out every day including weekends to fix the problems. In the end they had to replace one thermostat and some internal problems with the furnace. They never gave up until the furnace problems were solved and showed very good problem determination techniques to find the complex problems. We are very happy with those efforts despite there being problems with brand new equipment. Now that everything is done we are very happy with the work that was done. We would heartily recommend the air scrubbers after inspecting the air filters after only after one week. The filters were filthy Still would be nice to get that call back from sales though. The technical expertise though of Tipping Hat cannot be denied and we highly recommend them.

I have used this company twice and can say they are very professional and get the job done without problems or extra charges.
Our water *** was regularly around $80 a month and jumped to $300 the next month! We found out through a water-meter reading that we had a leak somewhere around our home. *** came on over and did a fantastic and thorough job of finding the leak! *** was friendly, professional, and explained the issue very clearly so even I could understand (I am clueless when it comes to pluming or handling any type of common home issues). I dont usually write reviews but when a person/company goes above and beyond expectations, its definitely something to brag to others about. I definitely will recommend Tipping Hat to all my family and friends for any Home issue that comes their way.
Would not honor website price of $99 for Swamp cooler shutdown. When called and documented web price, quoted 2 1/2 times higher for service, saying price changed weeks ago, even though $99 is still posted.
I don't have a problem with the $18K work that they did I think! Their online customer service stinks, they never respond to your questions. I was told they would schedule inspections for the 2 repairs they did and 3 months latter with 9 email request I still have not seen an inspector. So I don't know if the work meets code!
