Even if you have every thing the warranty ask for they still will not pay, you will have to sue them to get them to pay. Do not fall for this scam.

I purchased my 2016 Nissan Rogue from Naples Nissan on Pine Ridge Rd. in Naples Florida. They advertised that the vehicle came with a lifetime from Total Warrant Service. I trusted Naples Nissan to keep me informed of any issue. Overtime I had put my copy of the warranty with some other papers and put them in my storage. So when my CVT transmission went out on 10/12/2023 I took it back to Naples Nissan to get it repaired. I was told the transmission was not covered, so I had to pay for it out of pocket $5711.66. When I was able to get into my storage and read through the warranty I saw the transmission was covered so I called Naples Nissan, they said for me to get the paperwork sent to them. Then I had to fight with them to turn it over to Total Warranty Service. I was told from Naples Nissan that Total Warranty Service would not pay, but I believe they should go by the Warranty.

Total Warranty Service has denied my claim for reimbursement for my transmission that had to be replaced in my 2016 Nissan Rogue. Even though I have met all the requirements laid out in the Warranty. I have included a copy of the Warranty for you to review, and I have included a copy of my Maintenance Schedule. I was told by Justin the Manager of Naples Nissan that in his 30 years of doing business, Total Warranty Service has never paid on a claim where the customer does his own oil change. This may be true, but the Warranty does not say that the customer can not perform this work on their car.

First denial, I submitted all the information that was required by the Warranty. I also submitted the invoices of the purchases of all the items needed to do the oil change, such as oil and oil filter. I also included the brand of oil, the brand of oil filter, the brand of the spark plugs, air filter brand, and coolant used. This was not required by the Warranty. Then I was asked for the phone number and address of the place, which is a local body shop. So on June 18, 2024 they denied because Jap Autobody is not a registered business with the state of Florida and the invoices showed that they were collecting sales tax. Claim was denied due to insufficient proof of maintenance.

I responded to them by reminding them that I did not have to include the invoices from JAP Autobody, I did so only to show I purchased the items needed to do the work on the schedule I submitted.

Second Denial, On June 19, 2024 they responded to me with the following, the Warranty doesn’t state the customers are allowed to perform the maintenance on their own. They go on to say “TWS is under no obligation to accept service

performed by the customer – it is accepted as a courtesy, and without proper proof of purchase of parts, we cannot accept the maintenance log provided.

I responded that the Warranty does not preclude the owner of the vehicle from doing their own maintenance of the vehicle. The maintenance sheet I have given to you shows all the information on it the Warranty calls for. Please show me the language in the Warranty that says an owner can not service their own vehicle.

They responded on June 20, 2024 the Warranty contract does not state the customer can or cannot perform their own maintenance- yet as stated in our previous communication, the contract verbiage and requirement state the customer is contractually obligated to record with specific information.

I have called and left messages since their last response, but have not received any further communication. They changed the reason to deny me every time I responded to them. I now believe that Total Warranty Service is a Scam. Since I did the first oil change after the purchase of my Nissan Rogue, that means that I have not had protection on my vehicle at all, even though Total Warranty Service and Naples Nissan advertise A Lifetime Warranty. I believe that since I have not had a Warranty I am due a refund of the purchase price of the Warranty cost. I also believe the term of the Warranty should be changed to reflect what is needed if a person does their own oil change on their vehicle.

Recommendation: Do Not Use Total Warranty Service they are a scam.

You certainly gave them a run for their money — literally. Could've been worse if you hadn't been so thorough with the paperwork. Their "lifetime warranty" seems to have an expiration date whenever it's inconvenient for them. At least you've set the bar for what a warranty *should* look like, even if they’re still figuring it out.
