In plain language, I did not receive what I was promised. The deal was changed after I paid my money.
Tripcentral specifies the packages as based on the number of DAYS.
Tripcentral advertised BOTH 7 day and 8 day vacations to the Mexican resort. Each of these were 7 night trips.
I paid a HIGHER amount for the 8 day trip.
I wanted the 8 day trip. I paid for the 8 day trip.
Unfortunately we received a 7 day trip!
The tour company unilaterally changed the departure times to and from Mexico to shorten the trip by a FULL DAY.
Although I relied on the ‘8 day’ trip duration (as advertised), and was very disappointed to find out that we would have a shorter trip than hoped.
I have been since informed by Tripcentral that the advertisement of the 8 day trip was an error. Perhaps it was an error.
Tripcentral could have made it right...they did not!
Tripcentral was not willing to refund the difference between the 7 day advertised price and the 8 day price. Heck, they could of even refunded 1/8th of the trip.
Instead, and only after substantial complaints, I received a $63 per ticket compensation and the brush off. Wow.
When Tripcentral says that they can change the terms of your trip without notice or compensation, they mean it!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Well, that's what you get for booking online right?
I have just recently had a terrible experience with my vacation booked by Trip Central. They are guilty of falsely promoting the resort that I booked through them. The conditions were so bad that I left my vacation to come home a week early. I understand that vacations can be less than what you expect. In my case it was completely unreasonable circumstances. The customer service manager for Trip Central, despite the false advertisement of the resort online, has stated that Trip Central will take no responsibility for the lies they post. She directed me to their terms and conditions and then decided to close my file. I plan to escalate my issue all the way to the owner of the company. Buyer beware, Trip Central is guilty of false promotion!
WORST company I have ever dealt with! Booked a trip with Tammy Beamish. She double charged over 20 people in our group, it was corrected but if we hadn't called its hard to say whether she would have contacted us. She had not given us the option to upgrade our resort and when we got to our destination, was treated like lower class for not upgrading. She greatly mislead us regarding the cancellation insurance and had told us that you could cancel for whatever reason right up until the time of the trip and told us she does it all the time and has never had an issue. When someone did have to cancel due to medical reasons, their trip was only partially refunded due to blackouts Tammy did not inform us about. WORST part is, after contacting customer service AND the customer service manager, 2 months ago we have yet to hear anything from anyone. Next time we won't waste our money with this terrible company and will go through Expedia.
I would score lower than one star if I could.
We made two separate bookings to the Dominican Republic with TripCentral.ca, one for my daughter's family, and one for my wife and myself,
From the beginning, our agent, Yasmin Sosa, fouled up our bookings with incorrect information, and required repeated calls and emails to get things right. She then emailed us itineraries clearly showing the 21st of December as the due date for us to pay for the balance of the cost of our trips.
But on the EVENING of the 15th of December, she left a telephone message informing my daughter that the balance of her trip was due that same day! Apparently she never thought about letting my wife or myself know this; perhaps she just could not give a damn whether her employers got their money or not.
On calling back it turned out she was not even at work to answer phone calls! But a courteous gentleman named Carl at the TripCentral.ca phone number confirmed that the 21st of December was indeed the correct date. Just to be sure, I agreed with his suggestion to be transferred to Yasmin Sosa's number, and I left her a message requesting a call back.
Amazingly, she DID call back, only to insist that the 15th was the correct date. I pointed out that she had put it in writing that the date was the 21st, but she denied that despite my offer to send her screenshots, or copies of the files, that she had issued. Then she claimed that she had spoken with my daughter on at least two occasions, one "just the other day", wherein the date confirmed to be the balance due was 15 December. I knew this to be a lie, and challenged Yasmin Sosa about it. She then said that the balance was due BEFORE 21 December, and so it was due NOW, the 15th - I suppose because the 15th happens to be a date that precedes the 21st!
I paid the balance for both of our trips then and there on the telephone, but I would never, never, never deal with this company again. It has been far more work, and possibly more money, than had we done our own searching and booking directly with airlines and hotels. Even if we did save money, it definitely wasn't worth the panic, the stress, and the discourtesy.
This incompetent and dishonest employee should not be working in any kind of service environment, and certainly not where potential consequences of error are in the thousands of dollars for each customer.
As long as TripCentral.ca continues to employ people like Yasmin Sosa, I urge all readers to avoid TripCentral.ca unless you want to risk kissing your money, and your vacation plans, goodbye!
promised on board credit as thank you for booking cruise with Marie of TripCentral.ca - appeared on invoice and verbally confirmed twice... go on cruise - no credit. Complain? no response. Liars and cheats - beware!
I'm tired of their "Bait and Switch" pricing. On multiple occasions I have found an amazing deal advertised and when I clicked to book, the price DOUBLED! This is criminal in my opinion. It's happened twice now, I will never use this company again. I had booked with them on two previous occasions with no issue, however this is end now.
