Tutoroo Misrepresentation of services offered and failure to deliver in a timely manner.

On Sunday 04/09/22 I was trying to find a CELTA (Cambridge English Language Tutor, Adult) Tutor/Coach for my wife who was struggling with certain aspects of the course. I had message exchanges with a Tutor named ALI/ALEX in Istanbul, but he did seem to know how to establish an online lesson and it was obvious that my specific requests had not been passed on to him.

Due to not being able to achieve any of my specific requests and understanding that I was not getting any support on a Sunday, I wrote to Tutoroo that evening informing them of my wish to cancel any agreement for tuition and that they should refund any monies withdrawn.

I got a response on MONDAY via their message service telling me that ALI/ALEX was not available and offering me two other Tutors. I again replied that I no longer required and Tutors from them and referred to my previous email message on Sunday cancelling my agreement with the company due to them not being able to meet my requirements in a timely fashion.

As with previous complaints made about this company and their reply that it is not fair to their Tutors to simply change your mind and seek a refund, I would suggest that they led me on, misrepresented what they could offer thinking that I would simply write off the 60 something EURO they want for doing absolutely nothing in the way of tuition. Does it look as though I need English language tuition. Therefore, I request that Tutoroo do the honourable thing, cancel the agreement and refund any monies withdrawn, Otherwise I will take this further with the Singapore Trading Standards and Ombudsman if necessary.

Tutoroo i didnt get paid more than 60days

Hello

I signed here as a korean tutor and i didn't get paid after 60days

i already asked a tutoruu about a payment 30days ago they said it took 30days to payment but i didnt get paid until now.

does that mean i did a lesson without nothing? please answer it urgently im really worried that you are scamming company so, i need to get followed up the how the finance system is like and noticed when can i get paid.

please dont take my lesson fee like that

Tutoroo Tutoroo doesn't refund me 50% lesson fees from student

I am a tutor in Tutoroo in Dubai, the agreement between me and Tutoroo is that the student will pay for the first 2 weeks to Tutoroo, then in the future lessons, the student pay directly to me; after 2 weeks, if the student decides not to continue the lesson with me, Tutoroo will give 50% of the payment to me.

One of my students paid 4 lessons for 2 weeks to Tutoroo, I taught for 4 lessons for free. However the lesson won't be continued due to the schedule problems, so we informed Tutoroo about this, and I asked Tutoroo to give me back 50% of the student's payment. Tutoroo provide two solutions for me "Please let us know which option do you prefer:

*1. CREDIT* - Paid in cash or bank transfer by the student on your next confirmed lesson.

*2. REFUND* - Paid via Paypal only and processed within 30 business days."

I am very surprised, because I totally did not expect this! I asked for a bank transaction, Tutoroo told me better to choose Option*1 which is credit, I said I want a refund, Tutoroo said it's not suggested because it takes a long time, then Tutoroo said they have a tutor that she will pay some money directly to me this time, and the rest of the money they will find another way to pay me.

this happened on 1st June 2022, still until today 18th July 2022, I haven't received payment. Totutoo just keeps saying that the girl supposed to pay me is going to transfer the money to me soon, or Tutoroo says the girl has processed the payment but maybe there is a problem, she needs to check with the bank. I asked what if the girl she will never transfer, shall I wait for her forever? Tutoroo said that they will follow up, and there is no deadline. I asked for other means to pay me, they say they can not, because the payment is in process.

I asked for the rest of the money, Tutoroo said will ask another student to pay me as soon as that student come back to Dubai, but don't know when.

this is so frustrating, Tutoroo has hidden refund rules for all the tutors, and that's why all the tutors refuse to teach in the future (we have no ideas when we signed up as teachers in Tutoroo website). Tutoroo has so many different reasons and excuses to not give the money back to tutors, I think i need to call the police in Singapore and Dubai and Philippines. it's not a big amount, but I think it's important to get the justice done.

Desired outcome: I want my money back which is 50% of the student's payment.

Tutoroo Payment upfront but no lessons

On July 12th, I had paid €92 for four lessons of Spanish. Hours afterwards, the tutor refused to provide the lessons as she was not getting paid. I have made many requests for a refund without any reply. It is grossly unfair that I was informed to make this payment upfront only for the tutor to refuse to provide the service and Support not to respond on the conversation. This practice is highly unethical and I request a refund. I am fully aware of consumer law. Please advise ASAP

Hello Tutoroo,

Your policy says that you will offer tutors that are a best match if a tutor refuses lessons.

However, you are offering tutors that charges €60 when I have already paid €92. Do you think that is fair?

Also, you are offering tutors in different geographical regions when I am only available in person.

So in this case you are not adhering to your own policy. Also, I did not see anything on the website that says No refunds allowed.

Again, this service has been very disappointing and under consumer law you are obliged to provide a refund.

Please oblige.

Tutoroo I have made an account but I can’t seem to log in and they already billed me

I already made an account with Tuturoo but everytime I log in, it says error and they already billed $140 on my bank account. And it so hard to reach out to them.

Desired outcome: Please refund my $140 because it’s a big amount and I I can’t even log in to the website.

Update: They never advised Helena or warned her about another payment. There has been no contact made over the last year and she has no job. You cannot expect her to pay for work you haven't done for her. Please fix this problem!

Tutoroo Tutoroo

I paid 120 Euros for 4 lessons of French on May 10, 2022. On May 12, 2022 my tutor refused to do the lessons as she said is not getting paid. I now have 120 Euro paid to Tutoroo and no lessons. This is totally unfair if tutor refuses to do lessons once you made an upfront payment in good faith. It is actually borders on criminal behaviour. Please advise immediately otherwise I will have to taken legal proceeding to get my money back as there are laws on this to protect customers.

Tutoroo No payment received from Tutoroo

I have registered with Tutoroo as a tutor. This year a student contaced me - all worked fine and easy through the Tutoroo portal. My student's circumstances changed and he cancelled tutoring. I contacted Tutoroo as a payment now needs to be made by them to me. That was on 10 Feb 2022. I was informed a payment was made to my PayPal account on 22 Mar 2022. To this day I can not see that payment. I have asked for a copy of the Paypal receipt they would have received on making that payment on several occasions - 23/3, 29/3, 11/4, 27/4 and 4/5. No reply from them.

I fear I will never see the money owed to me.

If you read this and are contemplating registering with them as a tutor - think very carefully about it!

Tutoroo Tutoroo wont refund me

I paid for 2 1.5 hour classes for my son by accident, I changed the class to 1 hour classes with the tutor and also let tutoroo know of the mistake, they said they would refund me. Its been 3 months and I have made multiple requests only to be informed that they have sent my request to the payment team. No one is following up on my refund and I'm being ignored.

Please make it possible to delete a tutor's account. There is no possibility to do it on your home page, which is strange to say the least.

I wrote a letter to [protected]@tutoroo.co with all the information about my account and the request for deletion.

Avoid Tutoroo, they never found me a Tutor, I paid an enormous fee. I.have sent them over 100 messages & emails.

Tutoroo Unresolved overcharge of tutor fees

Dear Tutoroo,

I have hired two tutors through Tutoroo and upon hiring a third I was grossly overcharged. The overcharge highlighted the need to check past invoices (which I have paid) and I discovered that I had been overcharged for all tutors. So that the new Tutor did not have to be dragged into the query, I emailed your finance team direct ([protected]@tutoroo.co) on 1 March after discovering being overcharged for all three tutors.

Although finance have corrected the invoice for the third tutor, they have failed to:

(a) Acknowledge my email

(b) Sufficiently explain the charges of the previous two invoices where I feel I have been overcharged

Your Tutoroo Team insist on not responding to my email sent direct to Finance team and insist on messaging me via the new Tutor messaging service. My query has nothing to do with the new Tutor and it is very unprofessional to drag her into this.

All I am asking for is:

1. A response to my EMAIL (not via the new Tutor)

2. A detailed response explaining the overcharges, which I have calculated in the email.

3. Stop giving me a blanket response via the new Tutor stating that invoice has been fixed. This is not addressing my question.

4. Apologise to the Tutor (Wen) for dragging her into something that should have been addressed via email

5. Resolve the issue professionally

Tutoroo Paid x 2 $52 USD each for 1st 2 wks tutoring in Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam

On February 26 I paid x 2 times to hire a English tutors for my nephew in Ho Chi Minh city Viet Nam ($52 USD each for 2 wks) ! First one for tutor name Ben , but after a while Ben replied that he is already moving out of city and asked Tutoroo to delete him! I did not get refund yet! Then I had to pay another $52 doe first 2 wks with 2nd tutor Zane! But after many hours , Zane did not reply in the group text included Tutoroo ! I am afraid Zane is also not available! And I will lose my money total $64 ! Tutoroo never reply or refund my money

Tutoroo Tutoroo won't refund deposit despite no suitable tutors available

I selected a French tutor in Tokyo based on their location and price, and paid a deposit of 12,000 yen for 6 hours of lessons. The tutor never responded and Tutoroo went on to set me up with another 4 tutors, some of who never responded, or weren't available at a time that suited me, or were not even in the same city.

They are refusing to refund the deposit as they claim there are more tutors available, but I can see from their current selection of tutors that none are suitable based on price and location. I have asked them to stop contacting me as they keep setting me up with inappropriate options which is time consuming, and I can see there are no appropriate options. Also, it was not clear that they would switch to any tutor if the one selected was not available, they seem to think tutors are interchangeable.

They refuse to give a timeframe on how long they will keep the deposit, it seems they will keep it indefinitely.

Desired outcome: Refund of 12,000 yen deposit.

Tutoroo l am a korean tutor and l don,t get pay for my work over three months

November/21/2021 l requested payout Tuition fee for Student Linda. However l don,t get paid for my work until 2022 Feb Today.

l work for this platform casually since 2019 and their horrible system did not change.

They will take your first two-week tuition fee. if not you can,t register on the website. However, they do not pay out a Tuition fee to tutor. when they have to pay.

Desired outcome: Please pay out Tuition for my work.

Tutoroo Deactivate account

I have attempted to deactivate my account since November. I paid for premium for the first month which was October to try out as a tutor. Since November I have written many times to deactivate my account. I received no response and my messages erased. I have been charged every month for three months for a service i don't want and have begged for tutoroo service to stop. I have contacted my bank in attempt to stop payment. I would recommend no one to your service.

In response to tutoroo. I would have sent a screenshot, but any messages sent always gets deleted by your site within minutes of sending. How am I supposed to send proof? I have called my bank and cancelled my card. This has now been an expensive experience for me. Not only from the monthly charges, but now I have to pay shipping cost to replace my old card that was used with your company.

Tutoroo Never got paid

Im a tutor there and for the first time I had a student that After the 2 weeks trail she couldn't continue with the classes because she couldn't pay anymore. The website policy say that the If after the 2 the student doesn't continue with the classes the website will pay you half of the money. The student contact the website explaining her reasons, I contact the website trying to get some money for my work and that was more than 3 months ago they stop replying and no money.

Tutoroo Classes booked but teacher didnt respond.PLEASE REFUND

I booked my Danish classes with a teacher on Tutoroo but the teacher did not respond. I wrote multiple times but teacher didnt respond. There is a profile but apprently no teacher is there.

At last, I requested for refund.
As soon as I requested refund, Tutoroo team immediately deducted the phone.
Now they are forcing me to take classes with another teacher but that is not what I was looking for.

I need my refund back.
This is such a poor service.
Its not my fault that the teacher didnt show up or maybe teacher is not even there.

Please refund my money.

Tutoroo Contact information for a tutor

One week ago, I paid $80 to TUTOROO for an introduction to Chinese tutor Yanxia in Brisbane Australia.
Yanxia's profile said she was available on Saturdays, the only day I have free, however Yanxia told me that she is no longer available on Saturdays because she has started a study course. I contacted TUTOROO, however they did not agree to refund my $80, nor did they offer to off-set the $80 against the fee for the next tutor. Instead they asked me to pay an additional $120 for the replacement tutor. In other words this would bring my total payment to TUTOROO to $200. TUTOROO said I could take 2 extra one hour lessons at a different time during the week. However I am busy and I do not have additional time in the week to take additional lessons.
Also I am informed by others that TUTOROO would be expecting the tutor to work without pay for those 2 hours, ie they keep the $80 for themselves..
I urgently request that my $80 be returned to me. As an alternative, provided there is a replacement tutor available on Saturday mornings, then I could agree for the $80 to be credited to me and then deducted from the cost of introduction to the replacement tutor. I hope you can help. Best regards, Leslie Gray
