TXU called me on Jan. 31, 2008 and informed that the plan that I was on, Flex Protect, was being discontinued and they needed to switch me to another plan. The plan they suggested replacing the plan I was on is called Flex Protect Plus. They also wanted to tell me about their Market Edge plan which is a plan that floats w/the market prices. I agreed to switch to the new Flex Protect plan and was imfactic that I did not want to be on a plan where the prices float w/the market.
When I received my Feb. bill they had switched me to the market edge plan. On Feb 13 I called and asked TXU's customer service to put me on the plan I had agreed to.
When I received my Mar. bill they still had not moved me to the plan I had agreed so I called again. This time I was informed that the Flex Protect plan was not available to me because I had not switched to it when they called me in Jan. and further that I had not called them in Feb. I informed them that I felt they had overcharged me by approx. $50 both months and that if they didn't switch me to the plan I had agreed to that they would be losing my business. I don't appreciate their telephone clerk and the supervisor that I spoke with after her calling me a liar, which they both did.
Sincerely,
Lora Korin

I was just "visited" by TXU Energy at my door. They said that because I had not responded to their offer, they were having to make a house call to get me to change my plan. I had already told TXU Energy many times on the phone to leave my plan alone.
The man and woman form Energy proceeded to tell me and my husband that the flex plan that we are on is being discontinued and I had to change to the flex plus plan.
I told him no, not to switch me. I would need to investigate what I planned to do. He made an appointment to come back next week.
After calling Energy, the service rep told me that I did NOT have to switch. However, once I did switch I would not be able to go back.
This situation is deceptive and needs to be addressed. I have used Energy for over 30 year. I however, will change to ANY other electrical provider, if Entergy is pushes me to!
TXU sucks. They pulled the same thing on me. We were on the FlexProtect plan and they started calling 3 to 4 times a week. They told me they were doing away with that plan and they would put me on a plan that would save me money. My common sense told me that when someone is that anxious to help you save money they're usually trying to do something to make them more money but I didn't listen. Anyway they switched me to the MarketEdge plan. I'm now pay right at 19 centts per kwh. I think with the FlexProtect they were limited on how much they could raise the rate on you for a period of time so that's what their whole campaign to get everyone on that plan to switch was. Anyway, looking for new electric provider. Any recommendations ?
I'm very sorry to hear about this, guys. I hear about the atrocities regarding TXU and Reliant Daily. If you're looking for a solid electric provider, please visit my website. http://hadley.igniteinc.biz/
I personally monitor everyone's electric plan to make sure the plan you get is the plan you keep. Right now, Stream Energy is offering a 12 Month Fixed Rate Plan for 12.6/cents per kWh, and a Green-and-Clean plan which derives its energy from a renewable resource for 12.8/cents per kWh.
Let me know if there is anything that I can do to assist you. Signing up takes 3-5 minutes.
Kindest Regards,
Ryan Hadley
I joined TXU on the Flex plan and my bill doubled. A salesman came to my door promising a cheaper rate. I fell for it and now I am stuck with a large bill. If I cancel before two years I have to pay $200.00. What a rip off! Dont answer your door!
TXU SUCKS! After switching to TXU from Reliant my bill has always doubled. They always add outrageous fees for everything and end being stuck with a large bill. If TXUis every knocking at your door, DONT ANSWER!
Cheated Customer!
TXU Energy is a joke and these people are scam artist from the word "go."
They called me up, asked me if i wanted to renew my plan, and switch to a better plan, and they would waiver my 200 dollar drop out fee, and also give me a $200 credit on my next month's bill. Well, they didn't! It was all a scam. Now I am stuck with these huge bills. When you call them, you get a guy that can barely speak english, living in the Phillipines or somewhere...with their family members yelling and screaming in the background. They give you a name and i.d. but you can never find them again.
They told me twice they would remove this 200 dollars from my bill, but they never have. When I call back, they deny I ever talked to any of these people, nor can they find them either! It is a complete and udder disgrace! I will find a way to change to another provider and until then, I will tell all of my family, friends and co-workers not to use them. I have already heard a lot of them complain as well. This company needs to get their act together.

Use Cirro Energy - they have great plans. I'm locked in at 10 cents per kilowatt hour KWH. They do not offer bill averaging so your bill in the summer will be higher. My bills of course go up and down based on how many KWH I use but I still pay far lower for the total year. I've been with them for 5 years now and they are hands down the lowest rates in Texas. No problems with service and you can sign into your account online.
