University Medical Center of Southern Nevada review: The way I was treated at the emergency room

I called an ambulance this past weekend because of unbearable knee pain I was experiencing and I could not walk. I arrived at the emergency room, was placed in one wheelchair after the other. Knowing I was not going to die I allowed my treatment to be gladly placed as not the most important person that needed to be seen. After X-rays were taken I realized I forgot to ask for an antibiotic that I needed for a wound I had above my right knee. I asked any nurse to please look at what I forgot to mention when I first arrived in an ambulance. I understand that the emergency room was busy yet felt after 8 hours of no response, unable to go to the bathroom because the wheelchairs kept being taken from me; I was hungry just wanted to sit still but still kept a good attitude until a male nurse Sam yelled at me and told me to get up and walk I which point I could not believe I was in an emergency room and I just started crying. Then a security guard who was nice was told to see me out of the premises. I could not believe my ears and that this was coming from the hospital that actually saved my life in 2006 from a broken neck and TBI and after being in a coma for almost 4 months. The security guard who was trying her best saw me outs where I called a cab though I had no money to pay. I can't explain the trauma that this added to my already having PTSD from my accident 18 years ago.

Sincerely SAD, Nathalie Reinoso
