I was on an onshore excursion in Belgrade that involved an hour plus ride on a coach. Terrain was hilly which should not be a factor.
Whenever driver applied brakes there was a loud metal on metal screeching sound indicative of worn brakes.
Additionally, driver was passing on windy roads in no passing zones.
I contacted Uniworld customer service two times alerting them of the situation. The first response from Valentine told me that this was the normal sound of a braking safety feature. And, the question of passing in no passing zones was not addressed.
When I corrected her on her response, I received a followup snow job that was equally insulting.
I am very pleased with Uniworld onboard experience. I don't blame them directly for the condition of the coach or the driver's actions. However, I am very disappointed in the response I received to some very serious safety concerns associated with their contracted services.
First of all, I don't expect to be blown off with a fabricated response insulting my intelligence. Having made these concerns I expected them to be taken seriously and addressed in an appropriate manner.
I requested corrective action be taken. There was no response to this. By corrective action, I expected them to take my concerns seriously. They should institute a requirement that contractors provide safety reports on equipment. And, there should have been some contact with coach operator re safe driving habits. Actually, safety equipment reports should be standard operating procedures.
To blow me off in the manner that I experienced and not address these concerns is unthinkable. Very disappointing response from what I have considered a first rate company.
The gist of the interaction was "Go away. Don't bother me."
Desired outcome: Serious response to my concerns as well as corrective action
