Utopian academy for the arts and clayton county public schools
The teachers(Debroah Allen , Emery Williams ),and Principle (Selina Walton) an few other staff members of Utopian Academy along with Clayton County Counselor Tyshiba Maxie held a meeting against my wishes and lied about the where abouts of my son Jayden Corbin. The school tried to hold me against my will and conduct a meeting with My son Jayden Corbin with a counselor I have never met. After receiving a series of text from Debroah Allen That went from Jayden had a incident with another student but we are having a great day to a claim of possible self-harm after i requested to sit-in on the class. Instead of the teacher calling me they had my son to call me and he did not even sound like he could've made these comments I called Emery Williams and told him to please put Jayden in the front office and no one was to speak with him until i arrived. Jayden stated to me that he heard the office calling for him to the front with “we need Jayden Corbin to the front asap” and the principle and counselor still tried to hold him in this meeting against his will and even after his request for his mother. I feel deeply violated and I feel attacked on every level. This situation has me concerned about teachers and school administration and how far they will go to prove a point. I'm deeply sadden and hurt by this situation. I wouldn’t wish this emotional distress on anyone. I tried going to the level of command for help and relief of this but received correction from the director Pamela Dingle and no response to a urgent meeting from the CEO Dr.Miller. I have been requesting a copy of the policy and procedure from Utopian Academy and Clayton County Board of education as the paperwork I received says "Clayton County Public Schools on them with no luck. This situation is retaliation at Jayden and myself for the concerns I gave via zoom September 1st 2022 about the teacher and school year with Salina Walton and Debroah Allen of Utopian Academy. This is the second time a alarming event happened and I received a text message and not a phone call. last year the sink in the Restroom fell off of the wall leaving my son with a multiple cuts and having to receive stiches. Its beginning to look like all around retaliation. From Debroah Allen conducting inappropriate conversation with Jayden during recess while he watched all the other students play which took a literal conversation to another level. All of these events is upsetting causing my child to miss days of school. The principle told me she refuses to apologize as she would take these steps again. I have requested physical write up and copies of report to these events with no luck again.
Desired outcome: Parties to be held accountable. Charged , Fired , etc
Very Rude Representative "ANGELA" ID# JAC0191
Your Customer Service Representative identified as Angela, ID# JAC0191 has not represented the DOE well. Her tone, and communication "skills" was extremely rude. If I was in office talking to her, please believe, I would've broke her jaw to ensure she doesn't make the fatal mistake of talking like this to anyone again. Please contact me if there's any questions you or she might have, and I would rather this be face to face. I am not a rude person at all. I called in an attempt to understand what exactly our President Joe Biden presented as a relief plan. Before we started, I asked her how long has she worked at DOE only because the last representative I did speak with was very nice; But she had no clue what the DOE had to do with Biden's new Relief Plan. So Angela ID# JAC0191, aka "motor mouth" only behind the phone lines, very candidly answered my questions. I wanted to know how was I different from a large percentage of people who are being refunded their debt, and many times before I can even finish my question, motor mouth is yapping. She literally told me i was only refunded my $64 because that was my final balance. She told me that i will only be refunded if my balance wasn't in Default, and paid in full. When i did get my money refunded, it was in default, so motor mouth contradicted herself. None of my questions was answered successfully, so i asked her for her ID credentials, which she gave with out hesitation, and ended the call with her.
Desired outcome: Find a better customer representative because "representatives" like her will make it extremely easy for a Class Action Lawsuit to be successful against the DOE.

Student loans and financial aid given out
Western Governors University has been filing student loans and financial aid on my behalf and I have not been attending school nor applying for financial aid. This all happen in 2019. I was very sick and 2019/2020 and I am on disability now. Financial aid was paid out and I was not enrolled in classes.
During the entirely of 2020 I had no contact with WGU and partial contact in 2019 but I did not enroll in classes nor accept any financial aid in December 2019.
Desired outcome: WGU should refund all monies that were received by WGU in my name
Penn state course for wfde / ece course
In May 2020 when I filed for F.O. S.F. A and Federal student loan which I have always gotten since 2013 when I first started at Penn State and was found eligible because I claimed my daughter Maria Nicole who is visually impaired and does not work I was found eligible for both student loan and F.O. S.F. A. grants every year since. And since COVID #19 since it was announced in September 2020 that there is a shortage of student loan money and students have to break into their piggy banks to pay tuition has Penn State Main Financial Aide campus acted particular and never told Fed Student loans I needed a loan to apply to Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. I recently requested information of drooping only one course and was told it would not bear and affect on my F.O. S.F. A, however Penn State Main took it upon themselves to drop all courses and completely remove me from Penn State Berks arbitrarily without my approval or consent. This could make up for the validity of not allowing me to utilize my federal loan to pay tuition, which I believe is a civil right. Now I am dis-enrolled in all courses and Penn State Main keep all my 7,000 in F.O. S.F. A grants. WOW this is disappointing. Will you please audit Penn State Main campus to the whereabouts of my F.O. S.F. A. for fall 2020 and enforce the notion I am allowed to utilize the remaining 40 percent of my federal student loan eligibility to complete Penn State. I have only 6 courses to go. I was told I was too old to utilize the rest of my loan and not enough credit to qualify for a personal loan to give to Penn State student financial aid therefore I cannot utilize or qualify for any more grants. I will now follow thru with the United States attorney generals office for closure of this mishap, since it is apparent my Penn State student financial aid has been compromised and mismanaged.. Please contact me back at [protected]@psu. edu or [protected]@berkscareer.com or (cell) number [protected] after 3:00 p.m. EST Monday thru Friday. Thank you for your time and consideration to this matter,
Sincerely yours,

offset of income tax
Recently my entire tax refund was used to pay on my student loans. My wages have been garnished for those loans and I was entering into Loan Rehabilitation through National Recovery Agency. I requested a hearing and have been granted a hardship suspension. While I do recognize this debt, the funds that were taken from me have also caused a hardship. It may not have caused such a great hardship, if a percentage was taken but I have household bills that I was waiting on those funds to pay off. Now I am delinquent and don't know how I am going to take care of these bills. One of my bills that has a March 9, 2020 deadline is for $1, 300.00 and I don't know where I am going to get the funds to pay that. I could ultimately lose the deposit I've already paid to secure the deferred amount of this balance. This offset has greatly diminished my ability to pay my bills for this month and I will continue to have to rearrange other bill payments that I may not be able to afford. This practice of taking people's money before knowing what their financial situation is deplorable. I have a fixed income and my money is budgeted for all of my bills however my anticipated tax refund was figured into those bills but it was all for naught since this offset took all of my anticipated funds.

I am complaining about being mislead by admissions staff of capella university
In 2015, I received a call from a staff of Capella University and was mislead to believe that my credit hours from the University of Phoenix would be transferred toward completion of their Ph.D. program. I have been paying money since 2015 with a GPA of 4.0 only to find out at this point that I may not be able to complete a Ph.D. at Capella. At Capella, we are required to attend three residencies to graduate. I just attended my second residency where I completed all the requirements only to be told that I was given a non-satisfactory without a review of submitted assignments and no feedback was provided as to why. I had already reached out to the residency facilitator and was advised that the Ph.D. topic should be endorsed ( I have emails to show). I feel like Capella Univesity has swindled my money from me since 2015 based on misleading information provided to me by the admissions coordinator. I thought that I was going to school to learn how to become a researcher and not be taken advantage of. I am now 66 yrs old and feel like I have been taken advantage of. please advise and help
Deception with employees
Last week supervisors Myeisha and Alicia told me that they had call Department of Defense to check to see if I was an active duty soldier. The respond was they told me that you wasnt actve duty you were just enlisted. I have been sending emails to the department of education and the proof of me being active duty to receive a refund back of unknowingly taking my tax refund when i was indeed out of country and on active duty status to not receive mail. All other documents that were received were received by email now its not working and they cant pull up the form from the Department of Defense I have been trying to prove this as fault of Department of Education since April my first response back was in July. I got a list of numbers about my account none that have yet to add up to the amount that was taken from me without my knowledge. Please I honestly sick and tired of the run around and not getting any reliable effective help.
transcript accuracy
To Whom It May Concern:
This is in regard to an unreconciled concern regarding a transcript reporting error through Northwestern University, Feinberg School of medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Prosthetics & Orthotics (NUPOC).
An account has been given, as follows:
16 Apr 2019 - submitted requested for an official transcript was cancelled through NU's transcript request interface, Parchment. I was advised to go through the program department (NUPOC) for a copy of my transcript.
18 Apr 2019 - NUPOC confirmed that for all certificate programs, transcripts were to be processed through them and that a transcript would be created and sent by surface mail to my home address.
27 Apr 2019 - received the transcript; sent an e-mail to NUPOC challenging the accuracy of the transcipts. There were errors in grades and coursework.
28 Apr 2019 - NUPOC responded saying that they could not change the grades but could adjust the coursework inaccuracies.
29 Apr 2019 - escalated challenge to inaccurate transcripts to Department Director, J. Chad Duncan, Phd, CPO, CRC. He immediately responded to my inquiry and asked to schedule a phone call to discuss the particulars.
3 May 2019 - discussed my concerns with Dr. Duncan by phone. He agreed that the errors I had identified were correct after confirming with one of my prior professors. He asked for what purpose I needed the transcript. I indicated that I keep transcripts of all my training on hand. I did not have an urgent need to have a copy on hand, but may need a copy of the transcript if / when returning for additional training. He said that my complaint wasn't the first. He mentioned that it was complicated. Lots of paper work to sift through, with details stored on a spreadsheet. He said asked that I keep in touch frequently to ensure the issue stayed fresh on his mind. No ETA on solving was provided.
Follow-up continued by e-mail on: 20 May, 13 June, 12 July, and 1 Aug. During all of these inquiries, no progress was reported. Consistent in responses included such statements as: "still going through mounds of paperwork", "having to go through thousands of files to try to locate the correct materials", and "currently chin deep in files trying to find your information".
I have absolutely no confidence that the issue will be resolved. Subsequent follow-up response time continues to be less immediate. In truth, outcome resolution has been completely unprofessional. How can this institution benefit from government funding if it cannot render an accurate account of student performance and completion of required coursework? I have attached the e-mail thread for your review and consideration. Please feel free to reach my by e-mail or phone.
Thank you,
Nathan Gile

robbery
The U.S. Department of Education is a governmental scam. I Advise anybody thinking of going to school to avoid them at all cost. I had a 20, 000 loan and after 6 years of being garnished 15% of my wages i still owe 19, 000 dollars. The U.S. Department of Education is worse than a loan shark they never plan for you to stop paying them.

On May 25, 2012 I substitute a Science Teacher at Manhattan Theatre Lab HS. The principal wanted to pay me but DEpartemnt of Education refused.
The UFT put an Appeal, which wa sgranted on October 18, 2012.
after it took 10 months to the Cheff Executive Office, Division of Human Resources to aprove my day to be paid( I did not receive the check yet).
So much birocracy and discrimination?
Why one year and 142 days tergiversation?
Sincerely,
I reported fraud to my employee, the department of Education in August. None of my e-mails were responded to. In the paper, I read that about 20 teachers are in the same situation as me. Our pay slips, banking details, ID copies were stolen from the department of education and used for fraud. No-one at the department has acknowledged that their security was lax or offered to compensate us for the costs of getting to fill in affidavits, phone calls to customer lines to try and clear our names from the accounts opened in our names!
Fraudulent billing
In [protected] I went to grad school. I borrowed approx [protected].00. I paid back the loans and extra @13, 300.00 to NYHEDSC. In 1994 someone inflated the loans to 25, 000-30, 000, and the interests made it 64, 000.00. I demanded promissory notes that I signed for all that money. From [protected] or 11, the US Dept of Education refused to listen and continued to charge me that ID fraud money. When I notified Sen. Casey, the DOE cancelled all the inflated student loans on the grounds there were not promissory notes signed by me for them. The DOE then reopened the paid off students loans and is currently charging me for the same loans I paid off. It is refusing to stop taking my Income tax checks and even though the 13, 3000 were for the same loans, it is ignoring that. I have been threatened to have my pay garnished and my income tax checks. I paid an additional [protected] or more for only 7000.00 worth of loans # 3% rate borrowed 17 years ago. I want m money back, with interest. I want to sue the DOE and or go class action with others in this situation. Do you have attorneys? I have a lot of data available. There is too much to attach here. I can send some by email if you give me an email address.
School loan payments
US Department of Education has not applied my December 2011 payment to my account. They have cashed my check (electronically) on December 19, 2011 but will not apply it to my account. It now shows I am delinquent which is incorrect. I have made all of my payments on time. I have spoken with several customer service representatives and two supervisors, all apologizing and stating they will correct this error. Nothing has been done and I feel I am getting no where with these people! I work hard and strive to have great credit and I don't want this held against me.
Incompetent Help
I have recently started repaying my Federal student loans, as a result I had to submit tax returns and additional documentation. I first submitted all of the required paperwork by mail in June, 2011 by the deadline they gave me. In July, I received a letter telling me they never received my documentation. I then faxed the information to them in July, 2011. In August, I received another letter stating they did not receive all of my information, so I again faxed AND mailed the information to the office in Texas. As a result of getting my information, they informed me my payment would go from $167 to $777 due to my joint filing of taxes with my husband. My husband also has a significant amount of debt with Direct Loans as well, he actually has more debt than me. So, I called and spoke with a representative and explained that I didn't understand that I sent in the very same information for my husband's account and his payment was the calculated to be $224/mo and how could mine be $777 when I have less debt and only make $3000 more than him a year. At that point, the representative told me that they would link my husband's account and my account together to show our joint debt owed to Direct Loans and that would mean that my payment would be $320 and my husband's would be $480 a month. The representative said she would put both of our accounts on forbearance until this was all confirmed. This was in August, 2011. Yesterday, September 22nd, 2011, my husband received a letter from Direct Loans stating that his payment will be $470/mo. I then went online to check my payment amount, it said my payment was now $666/mo. Again, this made no sense to me so I called today (September 23rd, 2011) and spoke with a new representative Ashley, she told me that they had no record of my husband having any debt with them and that the $666/mo payment was correct. I then explained to her my last conversation with a representative at Direct Loans and she said that that woman did not submit the correct information into my account, yet she did for my husband's account. So, it was all set with my husband's account but nothing was recorded on mine. So, Ashley said she has to now submit the information to the correct department to get my payment corrected. I am now on another month's forbearance for Direct Loans to figure out what they did wrong. This all started in May 2011 with me submitting the correct information initially, but Direct Loans misplacing it and now we are entering October 2011 after 3 faxes, 2 mailings and at least 7 calls and still nothing is correct with my account. I am now 6 months pregnant and have been stressed out solely due to Direct Loans for my entire pregnancy. How is it that I have done everything requested of me and yet no one seems to be able to do their job correctly at Direct Loans.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had had very similar experience with them! I am now waiting 4 months for them to process paperwork. They cant tell me when this will get done, or why is it taking so long. I am stuck paying a higher amount, since I dont want to forbear as I am a public servant and want the month's credit towards my 10 years of credit. However, this is ridiculous. They have never contacted me, I call them to sort this out. They debited my account twice last month too, almost sending me underwater on my account. No explanation why this happened, either. I just want to pay the correct amount!
Misapplication of Loan Payments
This is a very valid complaint as I too have $475 in misapplied payments and after months of letter writing, conference calls with banks and the Direct Loan Customer Service, I have been conversing with them since June of 2010. I sent a letter to all the officials of the US Dept of Education Student Loan Board and not one individual has responded. The US Dept of Education has so many problems that they can't admit or have the decency to write. Cudahy, WI

Workers Lie and Do Not Do Their Job/Delay in Consolidation-no good reason given
They continue to lie to us on the phone about the real status of our consolidation loans. First they tried to double our daughter's loan due amount..then they finally fixed that. Then they continue to come up with no real excuse why they are not released and finished in consolidating after 4 phone calls from both my husband and myself each about our plus loan consolidation. They say it will be done at the end of the day...and then it is not which has caused problems, though they have been reasonable about it, with Wells Fargo. What a crock this is!

Horrible Loan Consolidation Service
I've been trying to consolidate my loan from ACS to Direct Loans since July 1st, when the new interest rates came out. Originally I was told the whole process would take a couple weeks, but whenever Direct Loans would send out the payoff amount request to ACS, ACS would never receive it. This went on for weeks before I got Direct Loan to fax the request to ACS. Finally a few weeks ago Direct Loans said they got the payoff amount from ACS and that they would send out the amount to ACS on September 14th. Since then I've gotten a bill from both lenders for October 14th. ACS claims they never received the payoff amount while Direct Loans repeatedly claims they did and that I now have a loan with them. ACS immediately agreed to put my loan into forbearance while this gets figured out (actually it was their idea) but I had to speak with three different customer service reps before Direct Loans would put the loan into forbearance. The funny thing is they don't have my loan, irregardless of whether they sent a check or not. Until ACS receives the payment from Direct Loans how can Direct Loans claim I need to now send them money? During all this ACS has been nothing but helpful while Direct Loans has been completely useless. All DL does is go by what's on their computer without even considering that they did something wrong and that's why the whole process has been a nightmare. Tonight I got them to put the loan into forbearance and asked if they could figure out whether or not the payment was sent properly. I was told no. Just no, without a reason or anything. Direct Loans has also given me 3 different time tables for how long ACS should take to receive and accept the payoff amount; 7-10 days, 15 days (after I told them its been over 10), and 30 days now. I completely regret trying to consolidate with them. This is even more complicated because while I've been in the process of consolidating I've made 2 scheduled monthly payments to ACS so now ACS has one payoff amount and Direct Loans has a different amount.
I'm at a complete loss as to what to do now. ACS can't do anything and Direct Loans refuses to do anything, all they say is to keep calling ACS to see if they received the payoff amount. They won't even try sending another payoff check to ACS. Is this really my job to try and figure out? I thought I only had to fill out the paperwork and the two lenders would take care of the rest, especially Direct Loans. I'm going to give this till November and if it isn't straightened out, will try to cancel the consolidation with Direct Loans and stay with ACS. I don't even know if that is an option anymore but I can't think of anything else. I just hope ACS finally receives the payment from Direct Loans.
Can anyone suggest anything? I seriously doubt anything will happen from now till November and the way the customer service reps at Direct Loans talk, I now have my loan with them even though ACS never received the payoff amount. I have two lenders claiming I need to send them payments for the same loan. I refuse to send any money to Direct Loans until ACS receives the payoff amount from them, but like I said Direct Loans refuses to look beyond their computer screen. Their computer is telling them I now have my loan with them. I'm afraid that before this is over I'm going to have to get a lawyer. I'm completely exhausted with this whole experience.
I wish I had read this board before consolidating. Evidently they consolidated my same loans twice with two different servicers. My only servicer was supposed to be Nelnet. However fedloan somehow got the application too. No one at direct loans apparently knows how this happened and now they are "researching" for the second time in a row. In the mean time I have 2 consolidated loans with 2 servicers with the same loans .Clearly, they screwed up. I will never recommend consolidating loans after this experience. Especially since it sounds like personal information is not very secure in the process.
This was my first and last student loan. I started getting charged for my student loan while I was still attending school. The request for payments started in my first month of school. Not only was my school corrupted (Harrison Career Institute) so was this loan office (Direct Loans). In June-July of 2008 I was dealing back and forth with the supervisor Pam Jones at [protected] and was told my student loan was paid in full. I then asked for a written notification so that I could have documentation to send to the credit bureaus, because the loan was still appearing on my credit report as not paid in full after payments and garnishments were made. Pam told me to give it two weeks to receive the letter needless to say she never sent the letter. When I called I was told my loan still existed and it was passed due. When I asked to speak to Pam Jones, I was told she no longer worked there. This has been the worst experience ever and I will never ever deal with them ever again. My school was shut down for fraud I’m wondering why this place has not been shut down as well. Peyton
Can someone please tell me what other options we have to consolidate our student loans? Is this the only option. I just had an anxiety attack over the mere thought of contacting the direct loan phone numbers. I just realized that my on-line application only had 10 out of my 18 loans. Has anyone had that issue? There must be something, someone, that we can contact. I tried calling the U.S. Department of Education FSA Ombudsman Group. [protected] At first they were helpful, but now they revert back to Direct Loan for questions. Anyone out-there with solutions? I understand the DL is horrible. But, I cannot continue to have anxiety attacks, this is literally causing me harm, and I'm quickly falling into depression and rage. I'm angry, frustrated, exhausted, sadden, beaten, I don't think I can do this for much longer. Anyone with suggestions, on who else to contact? Is it worth getting a lawyer involved? If so, with what $ are there any organizations that may help.
Pam Jones is a supervisor at direct loans and is the most incompetent "supervisor". If you ask questions of the person who answers the phone..they never have any intelligent answers and when you ask for a supervisor that are just as incompetent as the customer service reps. Please never use this company for ANYTHING. They are nice at first until they get your money then they treat you as ###.
I consolidated my loans and 2 months later, the website changed and my payment history was gone. In addition, my previous balance of $4007 and been jacked up to $4959. They also claim that I consolidated my loans back in 2005 while I was still in school. They are lying. I never did such a thing. It seems to me that they consolidated my loans but added the original amount borrowed together instead of the principal balances I still owed. I finally got their version of my payment history, but they aren't accurate and they claim that the reason my balance has increased, despite me paying over $800, is because of capitalization adjustments and incentive fees. I don't understand this. I'm basically paying to maintain my same balance. This is ###. My email is shayla.mali@yahoo.com. I'm ready to join a class action law suit.
this company is obviously ill equipped to handle this type of student loan account. they do not have a viable website to handle email, or a telecommunication system that can except calls in a timely manner. you can lose hours waiting on someone to take your call, which now appears to be 2 weeks before anyone can assist, and you may have to keep calling back because of poor information. when i make a payment on their website, i have to call in to make sure that the payment is posted in their system, so that i do no incur late charges. if i dare, i can mail a payment, but they will charge 7 days worth of interest due to time for the payment to be posted to my account, which i do not give money away in that fashion. i believe that it is time for the Department of Education to remove this company as servers for student loans.
Please LEAVE your EAMILS... when writing a complaint. This information can be gathered and used to bring forth CLASS ACTION lawsuits. .
My current issue is with direct loan and ACS too!
I've had such bad experiences with this place, it's hard to believe that they are still around. This place has provided me the single best reason to support anarchy. The first time I tried to consolidate my loans, I overnight-ed the forms on Wednesday. They got there on Thursday, but were sitting on someone's (some chump's) desk, all the way until the following Wednesday. By then my application had 'expired', so the ### forms had to be filled out all over again. I called in to complain to the manager (after talking to several extremely rude and cursing 'customer service' reps), and just 3 days later, my loans were sent into collections (with 18% 'collection fees' accumulated). Obviously, this place decided to abuse it's power, against an openly dissatisfied client. I talked to a few lawyers who said they couldn't help (because basically if the govt. screws you, there is nothing that can realistically be done). ---Anyways, I started paying on all my loans until i pulled them out of collections (via federal rehab program, entered by Obama). Now, about a year later, I redid the consolidation application, and I got a letter to confirm that 3 of 4 of my loans are going to be consolidated. For some reason which wasn't explained, and I find to be completely explainable, expect by the nature of shoddy tasking or political corruption (ie abuse of power), there is a single loan (an ACS Laon), which they are not including for consolidation.
I've been around for some time now, and dealt with many corporations and various divisions of govt., and I have never encountered such blatantly vile strategies, or unfriendly and unprofessional representatives. I urge anyone who's had bad experiences with this place to speak up about it. I am currently looking into filing a more formal complaint against direct loan servicing center.

I am in the process of referring Direct Loans to the New York State Attorney General for fraud, Strongly recommend that anyone considering loan consolidations avoid using this firm. My experience over the past four months has been essentially that they utilize 'bait and switch ' practices and have zero credibility
