I have been approached by this company and am unsure as well. They said they will find the discrepancies in my loan (for 1% of original loan amount) and give to their law people who will then assign a lawyer at $1000 per month (for about 9 months). I have researched the lawyers, the Founders and everything I can. All seems OK...but they are a newbie company. Basically not enough data to determine. The Rep I talked to was knowledgeable and explained well and answered my questions. I would go for it for sure except for...I am afraid of the process where I am not supposed to talk to the lender once the TRO (temporary restraining order) is filed, which means I'm not supposed to be sending the lender money, correspondence, nothing. That is the only part of this whole thing I am holding back on because at this time, I have never been late in my payments. Problem is, everything is going to change and soon--so I have to do something. Also, 9 months (10 if you include the audit the first month) is a long time to wait to see if you are a winner...almost like having a baby! I was told things would get worse before they got better--but they cannot guarantee that we will win. So what to do...what to do.

Thank you everyone! I have been holding off becoming a customer of these guys and am glad I listened to my gut. They were too positive I would win my case, they kept lowering the cost of the audit and raising the cost of the legal services. George Pulvino keeps trying, but the next time he calls, I am just going to tell him we went with someone else (and I did... me!). I've figured out how to make it all work without losing my home or even being late on one payment. By the time trouble comes-a-knocking, when all is said and done, I will be paying less for my house than if I went with US Loan Auditors/My Legal Service.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who did get scammed, I hope Karma bites them ALL on the behind!

keena33,

What do YOU have to do with the company? And who's my boss?

I have no association anyone here, and I've actually been a victim of Predatory Lending. I'm not here to share my experience or argue. I just agree that people have been victimized, and theirs plenty of media support proving this. It seems your purpose here is to attack anyone and everyone. I won't get sucked into your drama, but what i will do is help others avoid Predatory Lending. Enjoy!

Need_Help,

I didn't find your mocking comments funny either. I apologize. I'm also self-employed, unemployed, (no benefits to claim) for over a year now. This to me is a high stress serious discussion. Like I said I'm pissed off! Defining mortgage fraud is either "Constructive fraud"- meaning to make plans to decieve. Or "Actual fraud" the proof. Upon filing a response to the Unlawful Detainer, I gave up and went straight to the District Attorneys office. In less than a minute. A Minute! She looked at my mortgage docs and pointed out my signature wasn't on the income loan application. How's that for a Fraud Investigator. Less than a minute and no fees. You see, I and some people didn't sign up to have our lives ruined by all this. It's not funny when you go from having a good business and home to being broke unemployed, and homeless in less than a few years. I don't want to yet get into details. The District Attorney explained there no way she could stop the foreclosure. That's fine because I'm already foreclosed. California (non-judicial) . I couldn't understand why you attacked me when I mentioned nothing of you. So again, I do apologize for the remark if your being sincere.

Hey guys, stop your pissing contest and get back to the real story here. We don't want to read "articles" unless they have to do with this company. Understand? I realize you are trying to clog up the complaints board, but really now...knock it off. If you have a legitimate concern, let's discuss. If you just like to see your words in a blog, go somewhere else. All we want is info about this company, so, if you have nothing of benefit to offer, please keep quiet!

Does anyone out there have any positive articles ABOUT USLA THAT THEY CAN POST besides the crap they've managed to plant here and there. Something from a reputable reporting agency would be nice!

This is all very interesting. It makes me nervous that I know for a fact that Jay (Jarrod) La Mar is employed by USLA but does not come out and say that he is. How do I know this? I met with him and have his cell number and it is the same number posted here. I'm nervous that if we were to pay the fees and we did have a case after the audit that we could lose anyway and be out about $20, 000. I'm trying to decide if it is worth the risk or if we should just walk.

Need Help - this is not a "forum" for you to enjoy. It is a complaint board. If you have a complaint, lodge it. If not, just sit back and read what others have to say...you may learn something. Otherwise, we don't really care where you formerly worked, or what you're currently thinking. Stick with the facts. Since you have nothing more to offer, stop wasting our time with your rambling.

I would like to answer your questions and address your concerns. First and foremost ALWAYS do your research about any company that you are going to work with (whether that is US Loan Auditors or another company). I suggest consulting another Attorney outside our office.
I would encourage everyone to do their homework on the legitimacy of my company. Remember, that we do have over 200+ lawsuits against banks and brokers, which needless to say, the banks and brokers are not happy about. This alone makes us legit. Anyone who doesn't include their real name on the complaint board could very likely be named in our of our lawsuits. In other words, there are a lot of people out there that want us to have a bad name and discredit what we are doing. Many reasons for this, I think the main reason is because they are jealous, we are winning case after case. That's why we want to help you.

The sad part is that we are legitimately helping people who are in trouble in a way that no other company is doing. Not only are we helping homeowners but we are very active in the community. If not for us people that lost their homes would be starving. This also makes us legit.

Here is a small example of integrity to help the community and the people that are in it:
We have raised/donated $5, 500 to the MDA, $300 dollars to Family First, over $2, 000 in toys for Volunteer's of America and barrels of canned food for the Sacramento Food Bank and our employees adopted numerous families for Christmas. We are already making plans to be involved many more charitable causes for 2010. Yes feel free to call us, we are giving much more money away daily. Another reason we are legit.

Please use this forum as it was intended for constructive criticism. Slandering a company with false accusation in not considered constructive. It's real easy to make unfounded accusations about a company without really looking into the facts. We hope everyone will do their homework and get all the information possible before making a final decision. Free advice/opinions can be the most expensive advice/opinions that one can listen to. And I want to repeat, what you hear in our sales pitch might not be what the paperwork says, but don't worry, it's close. And we are legit.

Let's make a 2010 a great year!

Need Help - I apologize (note - I can spell this word, unlike you in previous posts) for not posting for awhile, but unlike you, I have a full-time job which doesn't provide me the luxury of posting stupid comments on this board, such as you have offered up. Since you are employed by USLA, it wouldn't surprise me if your role in the company was to sit and post empty comments to this board all day. I guess it's good work if you have no other marketable skills.

I think the rest of us have pretty much determined you are an idiot and I encourage everyone to just stop reading any posts submitted by you. Such a waste of our time.

To all others, please go back and read from the beginning of this board...you will find that posts from Keena33 and some from Soleng have now been eliminated. If you don't believe me, just read some of Barkers responses (and others) where they directly respond to Keena 33, etc. When people like "Need Help" pop up with their boring commentary, it just makes me more suspicious as to where all the important, informative posts have gone. Please read from the beginning and you will see what I mean. Mr. Barker's positive posts are there, but the negative posts that prompted his writing are gone. That should tell you something. SteveMusco, you are right..this company sounds like a scam, and we need others to step forward and complain as much, and as often as they can. Make no mistake...I may not be posting as often, but I am always watching.

Kalanio 8 - DON'T BE SCAMMED! If they haven't been truthful in representing themselves here on this board, that should tell you something. All these red flags we are talking about should serve as a warning. No matter how many people come forward on this board and spout about what a great company this is, others have come forward to dispute that. Or, they try and clog up the board with rambling posts that show us just how desparate they really are to keep us from knowing the truth. Read the posts...see if they make sense...all you see recently are posted news articles and rambling posts from USLA employees who think we are too stupid to know better. You've just exposed one of them! We are now aware of some others, thanks to private posts.

Weed through that and find the true stories. Don't let the USLA employees take control of this board. Be warned. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!

"Need Help" - grab your dictionary...I'm going to use some terminology (that means WORDS) that are way out of your league...

TILA or supposed “Forensic” Audits that use standardized check-off lists without providing a mathematical determination of the TILA Disclosure Statement and amounts are NOT Forensic Audits. A check-off list or automated/software-driven TILA Audit describing potential violations as “Serious, ” or “Moderate” is incompetent and useless. A Forensic TILA Audit must provide accurate TILA; Regulation Z citations, case law precendent, as well as actual computation of all settlement service fees properly allocated in the TILA Disclosure Statement or the Audit will NOT withstand scrutiny by legal authorities. Do not be fooled by USLA using standardized check-off lists.

There is absolutely nothing “forensic” about plugging loan data into some software and having it spit out a report. But that is exactly what most of these fakers are doing and they are charging anywhere from $395 to $995 based on what I have seen so far. USLA is charging you 1% or your mortgage loan balance, which is unheard of.

If the loan audit will NOT stand up to legal scrutiny then you have wasted your money and they have scammed you into believing you were paying for something that would help you. Why would you pay for a loan audit that would not stand up to legal scrutiny? What is truly scary, is that USLA will tell you (as others have already told us) that once they forward your loan to an Attorney, that's when the charges begin. However, what they aren't telling you is that your case isn't strong enough to begin with, and you won't realize this until you are waaaaay down the road in the middle of this process, having paid over $15, 000 in fees. What you need to worry about is if USLA files bankruptcy in about 6 months when all these "reimbursements" are due to their customers. From what I can see, the company is so new, no one has gotten that far down the road yet.

The software driven report they utilize serves a limited purpose . A true forensic auditor examines every document relevant to the loan and looks at signatures, dates, parties on the documents, who provided those disclosures or documents and also obtains the story from the client because every loan is a story. It involves people and usually quite a bit of communication between the borrower and the indispensable parties to the transaction.

Hopefully this post will cause those who read it to really do some good checking before they part with hard-earned money.

Bottom line is to make sure you follow your gut. Do your homework, ask questions, ask for references. A good auditor will most likely have attorneys they work for and consult for. USLA has been reluctant in offering names and contact info of their attornies. It sure would be nice if they did, don't think?

I recommend only getting a mortgage audit from an actual law office that can do something if there are predatory lending violations on your loan.

What the heck is USLA going to do if they find violations on your loan? They can’t do much, so don’t do business with USLA or any mortgage broker in order to avoid getting swindled out of your hard earned cash.

The audit helps mainly only homeowners with a primary residence and loans that are refinanced in the last 3-4 years because the laws with the most teeth fall under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA). TILA only cover certain mortgage loans and your loan must qualify in order to be protected by this Federal Law.

If your mortgage is a purchase money loan or 2nd home/investment property, then most likely the audit will not do much good to help you because it does not fall under TILA and the other laws that may have been broken offer very little recourse. But an attorney still can assist you with a loan modification.

The attorneys in the field of loan auditing can go through all of the numbers, dissecting and looking for anything unscrupulous or illegal with your loan. Statistics show that most loans given out in the past five years have had faulty documentation and mistakes, meaning that you might be entitled to a nice loan modification and not even know it.

I will do my best to try and identify local attorney's that would take on loan auditing. I will be more than happy to share with you when that happens.

TMerch777 - I would have to agree with you about Shane Barker. Back in August, I seriously considered using this company. I also referred my parents to them, but my dad saw through all the B.S. and kicked the person out of his house. I really wanted to believe in this company, and spent alot of time looking on the internet to see if there was anything out there that could convince me this was a legitimate company. The person I spoke with on the phone seemed very knowledgable, however, he talked waaay too much, which led me to believe he was just a salesman. I did see them on Good Morning Sacramento, but what irked me is they introduced themselves, and led people to believe they were attorneys, which is what caught my interest in the first place. After talking with my rep, I knew this wasn't the case. Also, they were constantly trying to get me to provide my payment in the form of the ACH, but I was reluctant, as I still wasn't sure if they were legit. I put everything on hold, and just recently decided to check them out again. Lo and behold, I happened upon this website. After all, when you type in U.S. Loan Auditiors, this complaint board is one of the first things to pop up. I was drawn to the title "Anyone else having problems"? I'm glad others have been drawn here as well. I also noticed that the "office" they show on their website, looks like nothing more than a make-shift business park with cubicles that can be taken down in a moment's notice. They try to make it look so prestigious, but it looked so cheap and tacky, that I decided to hold on to my money. Now I'm glad I did. After hearing your story, and many others, I would rather spend my time trying to help others than lead them in to a trap. If my comments get deleted after this, we will all know what's going on. I sincerely believe Dennis was able to get his money back because we all are standing up for your rights. I pray you will get your money back as well. If not that, then maybe a good, positive outcome. We haven't had one of those yet. We serve an awesome God, so hang in there. He hears all prayers!

I've spoken to a sales person and he did say that once you have been accepted by US Legal from the doc's that US Loan sent them, you will be filed in court and from then on you do not have to make a payment. You will have to pay US Loan a fee of 1% of the original loan amount (A LOT OF MONEY) to get the process started from there you need to pay US Legal a fee (roughly half of your mortgage payment...AGAIN A LOT OF MONEY) Please people stop fighting and let's find out what's up with this company are they really helping..?

AFF1 - You are correct in describing the process. The question is, how long will it take them to file in court. We've learned from past posts that it isn't done right away, so you are essentially paying them while they are trying to find an attorney to take your case. It IS alot of money. Some of us felt comfortable parting with that much money, and others didn't. We continue to watch this board to see if there are any positive comments coming through, but we've not been able to find any that were legitimate, so we wait, and read, and hope someone will step forward with a good testimony to share. I think that says enough in itself, don't you?

Shane, thank you for your post. It appears I've touched a nerve! Would you please do us all a favor and give us the names of the Attorney's you are working with so we can do our due diligence and research your firm like the good consumers that we are? Also, could you please provide some active, or complete cases that were successful so you can stop us from "assuming" the worst about your company? If you would just put our minds at ease, I'm sure you wouldn't have to defend yourself and your company on this blog. I guarantee you, if you could provide something positive...someone who has actually been all the way through the program and found success, don't you think that would go a long way in satisfying the masses of people who are looking to this blog for positive information? The longer you go without providing us with any good information, the harder you are going to have to try to defend yourself.

Sorry to upset you, but we just want some good information coming from you. After all, you are asking everyone for an awful lot of money. Don't you think they deserve that from you?

Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Need Help - you seriously do, dude. Just get a job. You're a nuisance. Visual Mute? LOL. We've been doing it to you and it doesn't seem to stop you from being completely obnoxious...which is most likely why you're currently UNEMPLOYED! Good luck with that. Now YOU'RE on visual mute, dude. Gotta love that!

Hey Dennis - great questions for Barker. I sure wish he would address them. I've also thrown some questions his way, but I've yet to hear from him. It amazes me how he can spend so much time trying to defend himself, and yet, not address the real concerns people have. Until he does, this board will continue...and idiots like "Need Help" will continue to post mindless thoughts to defend this company. Go figure.

Good point Dennis! I would have to agree with you. Barker appears to become angry when we ask him the tough, probing questions, only because he doesn't seem to have any answers. Anybody reading this blog should be able to figure that out. You need to keep pushing him for those loan documents, as those are your own personal property. As for his employees, it's a very sad situation. In order to protect their jobs, I believe they are the ones posting the stupid remarks we read on this site. They resort to bullying people instead of offering anything of value. Maybe they are embarrassed. Who knows. Need Help is a perfect example. Resorting to stalking someone's personal webpage (Facebook, My Space, etc.) and exposing them on this site is pretty scary, and would constitute as harassment, so he'd better be careful.

Mr. Barker, we all know you read every one of these posts...could you please answer our questions? Return our documents? Process refunds? Either of these actions will suffice...

Thanks Shane. The questions are pretty straight forward, but if you need time to put your "proof" together, so be it. We all look forward to your response.

Need Help - Why were you even looking at her MySpace page? Besides being an obnoxious idiot who bully's women, your a sick stalker, dude, and that can get you in a whole lot of trouble. Attorneys would love to get hold of this stuff on you if ever necessary. Careful where you tread, my friend. However, keep up the posts! The more you post, the more trouble you create for yourself.

Dennis - I'm so glad you responded. I was not surprised by his sophomoric response. However, he didn't tell the whole story, did he. I'm glad you set the record straight.

And, will someone please tell me why those with legitimate complaints such as Dennis' keep getting deleted from this complaint board and idiots like Need Help stay online? Wow. This is all very interesting. Although, it doesn't really take a rocket scientist to figure out what's going on here.

Just when I thought I had heard it all, this takes the cake. Dennis, thanks for fighting back and telling us the real story. No wonder it takes Barker "time" to put together "proof". He doesn't have it!

I love his comments about having to answer our "20 questions" as if we were overwhelming him. What he fails to mention is that those questions have compounded since he failed to answer the first one. Had he answered them when we asked, he wouldn't be backlogged with a whole "20 questions". I'm not sure he gets that. Forget the other stuff...I'd really like to hear him explain himself based on your recent entry. This I can't wait to hear...And, Mr. Barker, your starting to lose your congenial personality. Whatever happened to your very sarcastic..."have a nice day"?

Hi Shane,

I am having a great day...thank you so much for that. And, as a favor to you, I will stop posting for now, only because I think you need some time to straighten your company out. Others have not posted because they've either been deleted and are no longer able to post, or they've been harassed so badly by others, they are AFRAID to post. You sir, do not scare me. I will continue to post my comments as long as I know the info is helpful to others. Lots of people jump on this board and ask questions about your company. You have not been honest in your responses, as we've already experienced. As much as you would LOVE for me to go away, that just isn't going to happen. I may be silent for a while, but I will be monitoring...

Have a blessed day, my friend!

Geez. No wonder Barker doesn't want to hear from you (or I) any longer. The possibility of this type of stuff coming up in this forum is too great, so he tries to silence us. I find it very suspicious that he would conduct his business that way. He wronged you, so what was he afraid of? That you would show up with an Uzi in hand, or better yet, your attorney?

My goodness, Barker! What is wrong with you? How can you expect to clear your name in this forum when you conduct yourself that way? And prank calling people's homes? Even though that is alleged, it certainly seems suspicious.

You need to cut your losses, stop taking money from people and just settle out what cases you're currently working on before someone sues the pants off you and forces you into bankruptcy. How long do you think you can keep this charade going? Seriously? Are you for real? And, I'm still waiting for your "proof"...

I was thinking about signing on with this company but it sounds too good to be true. And after talking to a friend that is a attorney, if too many promises, and if u pay up front, STOP. And after reading the posts here, why is there not one from a real happy customer? or why not one post about winning a case? Why does everyone that complains say the same thing that it's a big sales pitch, then noting? Im glad we decided to not sign on with this company, why would a company post so many fake comments? good luck to the rest of you that have a case, please inform us of the outcome.
