I purchased 2 pair of glasses on 7/24/2023 from the Blackstone and Herndon Office in Fresno California. I picked them up on 8/16/2023. I live an hour away from this location. I paid $169 for PhotoMax GY for both pairs of my glasses. Neither pair of glasses tinted in the sunlight. I was required to put my old glasses back on because I was driving towards the West and I had to drive directly into the sun. If the glasses are not going to tint down, then they are only good for inside use and should be refunded the $338 that I paid for this feature.

Stanton Optical - Appointments and uneducated staff
I went for an eye exam to get contacts. It was my first visit to your facility. I was told at end of appointment I needed to schedule a 2 week appointment with the doctor to make sure that the contacts worked. I called that following wednesday to schedule an appointment and was told that I did not need to make a 2 week out appointment that I could just go in and pick up my contacts when I got the message that it was available. I received the message that they were available and went in to pick up my prescription. I was told it was policy that I had to get a 2 week eye dr apt now and if I wanted to do a walk I could. I had the previous week trekked to schedule an appointment I don't want to do a walk in because of your guys mistake and be stuck waiting 1-2 hours to see an eye dr. Your employees should be informed on what they can correctly tell people. My work schedule gives me 1 day off a week to deal with things and now I don't want to be stuck waiting 2 hours for your mistake.
Desired outcome: Re education on policies
Stanton Optical - Prescription glasses, and covid-19 safety protocols.
I came in on Thursday, 12/17/20. All was fine, and Covid-19 safety protocols were acknowledged. The original date for my two pair of glasses to be ready was Thursday, 12/31/20. There was delay, with a new date of Thursday, 1/7/21. This was not a problem, considering everything that was occurring with Covid-19 and the holidays. Again, this was not a problem. I did receive two phone calls, first as on Wednesday, 1/6/21. To let me know that my glasses were ready. I then received a second phone call on Thursday, 1/7/21, again to tell me my glasses were ready. I came in on Saturday, 1/9/21. This time around, there was no one stopping you, to take your temperature. People just came in and walked around. Even though it's taped on the walls of frames, NOT to put frames back that you've touched, I watched one particular couple, both handing, trying on and putting back frames. I let one of the employees know, he responded with, when I'm done with this customer, I'll make sure they have a tray to put the frames in that they've tried on. Well, needless to say, he never did this and this couple went up and down multiple aisles, trying on and putting back frames. A minimum of a dozen, and who knows how many total? So, my question for you is, do your Covid-19 safety protocols, not apply to the weekend? And then to my glasses, after two phone calls to let me know that my glasses were ready, only one pair could be found, and I wasn't happy with the tint. I left, I did not try on the one pair, that was found. Why was I called? Not just once, but twice! No safety protocols were adhered to, two pairs of glasses, NOT to be found!
Desired outcome: Can the tint be lightened? I was told, that the tint is at 10%, is 5% possible? I would prefer, that they not be so dark. And this is just on the one pair that I did see.
Stanton Optical - glasses
Went in Sep 21st for an eye exam. 2 weeks later I'm told my order is ready. I ordered replacement lenses and an extra pair of glasses. When I showed up (Oct2nd) only the lenses were in and they said I could leave my glasses and they would be ready for me the next day. I was told they would have my extra pair ready so I wouldnt be without glasses. Because I need my glasses to see I couldnt leave them there so I basically drove there only to leave empty handed. I called again today only to be told that they dont have them and they dont know when they will have them. I paid half of the amount owed and I would like that amount refunded so I can take my business elsewhere. The ads are also misleading. You have to pay an additional $100-$300 just for the lenses.
Stanton Optical - insurance reimbursement - service
I went to Stanton to purchase a pair of regular and a pair of sunglasses with their 2 for 1 special. The place was filthy. Parking was ridiculous. All the frames on display were filthy, and even though it looks like they have a large selection to choose from, 90% of them are basically the same frame. Very few designer frames. The store was packed. There was very little room to move around and look at the frames. No organization in the store, no 'take a number' or sign-in sheets. I had to walk around to find someone to help me, even though there were 3 standing together talking about personal things. After finally choosing (settling on) 2 frames, I sat down with one of the associates (I don't know if she was an optician or what). We determined my options and went over pricing. I informed her that my insurance company (EyeMed) reimburses me 40% on a second pair of frames and lenses. Stanton is part of EyeMed's in-network providers. She said because it was a 2 for 1 sale, I would have to pay upfront and submit a claim to EyeMed for the 40% reimbursement. She called EyeMed, told them it was a second pair, and they quoted her my reimbursement of $105. She gave me an EyeMed claim form. I paid them $427 and left. I found out today that my claim was denied, that EyeMed only pays 40% if Stanton submits the entire claim to them. Stanton should know this is how it works. They are a rip-off. It's been 11 days and I have yet to get my glasses.
You should have gotten more information from your insurance company prior to going. As with most vision insurances, they will only pay for one pair of eyeglasses not two. I have worked with Eyemed for many years now, and they do offer a 40% off a second pair of glasses-- you don't get reimbursed 40% you pay the company where you get your glasses-- so if your total comes to $200 on your second pair, you paid a company who is making your glasses $120, you don't get reimbursed for that. You have the option of choosing one pair of glasses that your insurance covers with co payments that are required and if its an in network company they can bill directly. Your claim will be denied by any insurance if it has multiple transactions for glasses, since insurance companies will only pay for a portion of one pair of glasses. And just because a company might be in network with an insurance plan, doesn't mean they have the ability to bill directly. With a major change in the health care, most health care places won't bill your insurance, you as a third party are responsible to do it. Its up to the patient to know what their coverage is are for their health plans before they go in and gets services rendered. And just a side note go back to Stanton and ask for an individual receipt for each pair of glasses and resubmit the claim to eyemed-- the customer service reps at EyeMed don't like to deal with third party Claims, so they will deny your claim just to make it easier for them. They are required to reimburse you for what your allowance is are under your plan. Best of luck.
First time I went there and I do agree. Parking was so bad .I had to call 3x to check status of my frame made promise that they will call back and. There was no call back at all .. wouldn't even mention the name here... Even picking up the frame they don't have a wiping cloth for the glasses after paying hundred dollars for your lens...? what kind of optical place is this?
