2/3/2023 at 12:00 pm. I took my class of 8 adult students with disabilities inside the store. There was no one in the store and no one in the drive through. One person came in behind us and we asked her to go before us if she wanted. She agreed and placed her order. When we went up to order the cashier Liliana asked us to "hurry up because we are busy and there are only two people working." I counted six people working in the store at the time. I asked her if she wanted us to go to another restaurant and she said yes. I let her know how disappointing that was and that we would go to another restaurant that accepted people with disabilities. Let me be very clear. There were no other patrons behind us in line nor was there anyone waiting for food. She simply did not want to provide lunch for 8 wonderful young adults with disabilities. They have trouble communicating and take a little longer than abled adults. It would have taken approximately only minutes longer to take our whole order and we were refused. We were not asking for separate orders or to go orders. Very disappointed and we will not be returning. We will also be notifying parents, the school district, and the better business bureau.
Desired outcome: The organization needs training on how to not discrimate against people with disabilities. This was the only restaurant we have been to in my ten years of teaching that has treated our students this way.
