These extortionists threaten me several times a day via email. They write to say that unless I agree to pay for a membership with them, they are going to be releasing my private information to the public. I have repeatedly contacted them through their "unsubscribe" button which does absolutely nothing. Today I called them and threatened a lawsuit and a restraining order if they do not cease and desist all further contact with me. My next call is to the California Attorney General's office to file a formal complaint. I fully intend to sue mylife.com if they ever contact me again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Good idea. It's extortion, harassment, and maybe even stalking. All these things are illegal. I'm going to take action here in Canada, where I am subject to the same tactics. Plus, they are upping the ante, saying that an insurance company, with whom I have no dealings, has been breached and my info exposed.
So that begs a few questions right there. The first is whether or not an insurance policy has been opened up under my name. The second, barring the first possibility, is that they are now just making stuff up, doing whatever is possible to frighten me.
