Gold's Gym - customer service

The other day, I complained to the manager (Pat King) about some equipment being out of service for an long period of time. When I brought it up to him, he blamed the service people for the machine for stealing the plugs and said that "They were on top of it.". With that I was dismissed. If they had been "on top of it", the machines wouldn't have been broken for two months. As I was leaving the facility, I asked if the front desk had the manager's card. He came to the front desk a minute later and told me that he had gone into the area in question and all the machines are working (NOT) and that there wasn't even anybody on them so he couldn't understand why I was even complaining. With that he turned and left. Today, I went to the gym and as I was leaving the manager came up to me and said that they are cancelling my membership because I was a "Cancer". I was told that I'm not allowed to go around comlaining to other memebers (I wasn't). I am about 6 weeks into what was supposed to be a 1 year contract and they will not refund my money. What kind of customer service is that? I want to be in a business where you can sign people up and, god forbid, if they complain, cancel their contract and keep the money. That sounds like out and out stealing to me.

I hear you! Owner sucks, the staff suck and the guy named Pat King sucks. This fat slob tries to walk around all hard and stuff thinking he is all tough. I was like? Wtf? You thief, you walk around all hard and stuff thinking your all that. I got news for you buddy, my johnson is harder than that.

Finally golds gym is been held responsible for all their wrong doing,
I had two cases with them, one was my wife's membership and mine.
The gave us such hard time for canceling that I got mad went in and yielded at them to provide the address so we could send the certified letter, one of the girl pulled from the bottom drawer of silly hand writing note that you could barely see. I told them, you have pepper work for classes, appointments, schedule atcs. But not one official form with instruction on how to write the letter and where to send it. That seems that you guys don't want members to cancel. And this isn't the right way to do business in this community.
I'm still waiting for December so I walk in and tell them I'm here to cancel. I can't wait!

Do not do business with Gold's Gym in Oxnard.

They are dishonest.

I signed up for 90 day trial during the summer in 2012. I told that at that time I would not be renewing. That I was going to be traveling in the fall. I was told no problem.

In October 2012 I got a bill. They renewed me for another 90 days and said I owed them $99.00. I had a long conversation on the phone with the billing people. They said that I needed to send them a letter to cancel. I could not walk into the club to do it.

I sent the letter.

I just got another bill. They renewed me TWICE and never notified me. Now they claim I owe $297.00.

I called. They are dishonest!

They say that because I did not send the letter Certified return receipt they do not honor it. They got my letter and refused to act on it.

I spoke with a woman named Belen. She refused to give me her last name. She stated that if I did not pay, they would ruin my credit. That if I did not pay they would refuse to honor a cancellation even if it was certified mail return receipt. They said that even if I send a letter certified mail return receipt and pay the full amount, they will not accept it now, that I have to submit it in May.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

I tried to talk to the manager. His name is Pat King. They refused to transfer me to his phone. Then they said he will not take calls about membership. Then they said he will refuse to meet with me if I come into the facility.

These people are crooks!

Golds Gym Oxnard are crooks! Tried cancelling membership for 1 year and had to jump thru all these hoops, sent in a certified letter, took 4 months to get the pick up notification, then sent me to collections for non payment! Noel is a thief and it's bad buisness! Someone needs to put a stop to it because I am not the first.

Am currently having problems with them. Can't get an address to send a "certified" letter to cancel my membership. Am willing to work with anyone out there who wants to file a small claims or class actions lawsuit or whatever. I was told by manager "Sammy" that I couldn't cancel. Their staff is rude, don't give a crap. They signed me up but I haven't received any offers for trainer assistance or anything. Wish I had read these comments before signing up. Was anyone out there able to get out of the contract?

golds gym is crooked! I agree with everyone here that has gone through this! they are a gang! an illegal organized crime gang and I cannot understand how they have not been shut down yet! people lets bring them to court please!

Golds Gym Oxnard Cal is the worst gym in america... The manager is rude and is a criminal.. They have been billing me for years, and i have tried to cancel my account numerous times and all they do is give me the run around.. i think we need a group of people to get together and bring this guy to court for a large some.. The manager is a criminal.. a crook . He threatened me when I said I want to cancel my account!

I have seen the manager of gold go into the bathroom in the daycare center he closed door went to bathroom did not flush or wash his hands and the lady who does the daycare had to go in the bathroom clean the pee off toilet and flush it. What a sick man what if one of the kids went in there to go to the bathroom and sat in that dudes pee.

Also I have been trying to canncelle my membership for about 3 weeks i also sent them a doc note because i had a seizure and now i cant even work out any more every time i call they say they are looking over my doc note and that they will call me back later that day i have not received one call in 3 weeks.

I totally agree! the only tghing they slim down is your bank account. Yesterday we tried to go work out and when you check in my name came up with a red screen which it has for the past three weeks, but the girl did comething in the computer and still let me in except for yesterday. Talked with the manager Robert, and he said in order for me to get in would be to pay my past due bill which is $29, plus the fees they charge when the payment gets returned totaling$116. I asked them why did they allow me to continue going in the past two weeks if my dues were not paid. He said he didn't know. I told him that if they would have stopped me the first time my bill would not be so high. He said to talk to coroprate. The next fay we called coroporate and they basically said it was our fault for not having the money in the account, so we canceled our membership. whats going to happen kow who knows since I had a year contract. But I believe there should be a class action lawsuit if this is going on to thers.

GOLD's GYM will take money from ALL your checking accounts if you give them to them. FOR MONTHS even if you have complaint many times in many ways. Even if they know it is wrong!
