My Mom purchased a motorized reclining chair (Rooms to Go version of a Lazy Boy) for my Dad's birthday on April 10 last year. She is an older person and forgot to get the insurance, in part because Rooms to Go promised to call back and never did. A year and three months after the year-long warranty ended, the motor went kaput. We went to Rooms to Go and were told, sorry, no warranty no help. They gave my Mom the name of a technician and three weeks later, I finally herded him down. He tried to order the parts and was told she had to order them. She did. Then a month later was told, there was an added cost. To make a short story of it, it is October 24 and she still has received the parts.
My thoughts on this is that you do not sell a product if you cannot provide parts of it. You screen your vendors better than this. When we buy something, the money is withdrawn immediately. When it comes to companies, however, they take their sweet time. One thing for sure, I will not be purchasing ANYTHING at Rooms to Go anytime soon.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
