Avoya Travel / Rev Agency

We and my family have used this travel agent, ilene premer, many times in the past without any difficulties. We paid for a viking cruise in full. The agent agreed to refund $700 from her commission when we completed the cruise. This is a practice she had done with us on several cruises we have taken in the past. She wrote on our contract that it would be a on board credit and i advised her she had agreed it was to be a payment to us after the cruise just as she had done many times before and she agreed by phone. I have evidence that this was the usual way we conducted business and i did not feel it was necessary to get the contract changed to reflect our understanding since i trusted the agent. One week before the cruise, after we had paid in full, my wife got seriously ill and we had to cancel the cruise and thereby forfeit our entire payment of almost $9000. It is my understanding that the cruise line has paid the agent her full commission and i requested the payment of $700 that she had agreed to and she has refused to do so.

Avoid this travel agency. It is a total front with call centers receiving the first call which is transferred to individual travel agents who don't follow up, are disconnected with the Avoya mothership and are not responsible for anything but taking your credit card and booking your travel. The advertisements are misleading, the fine print is nebulous in some cases and they are totally geared towards taking your money with no customer service. I don't want to detail all the calls I made to this shell game travel agency to simply determine the percs promised by their advertisement schemes. The travel agent would never call me back. The Avoya mothership was unresponsive also. The amount of cabin credit promised never panned out and the coupon book was a joke. So, don't give these guys any business. THEY ARE A SHELL CALL CENTER BACKED UP BY INDEPENDENT AGENTS WHO DON"T KNOW SQUAT AND CAN NOT ACT ON BEHALF OF AVOYA . STAY AWAY
