I wrote the following to planet fitness detailing my experience and haven’t received a reply yet!
Hi planet fitness,
You will be pleased to hear that myself and my workout group on Facebook will be boycotting planet fitness based on a single employees extremely disrespectful behavior. Then again, you have continued to employ her despite repeated complaints and so it is clearly planet fitnesses opinion that “Daytona trash” aren’t welcome at your Ormond beach location. Of course, all of us “Daytona trash” would be visiting your Daytona location if it hadn’t been closed for renovations for weeks on end.
I was curious about what those renovations were intended to do for that club but with all the other gyms in the area and your miserably unhappy employee Samantha, who was only too happy to angrily and defiantly tell me her name because? apparently, she can behave like this because this is how planet fitness does things.
What happened specifically you may ask? Well, I parked my car in your parking lot, went inside, worked out, took a shower and returned to my car. I was in my car browsing Facebook before I left when she came out of the door quite literally yelling at me through my window, despite the fact that I had had no contact with her throughout the night. She told me I couldn’t be in “her parking lot” which it apparently is. I told her, “okay, I have a membership, I’ll just come back and check in”. Problem solved, yes? Nope, She told me I had already checked in and exited and so I was not allowed to renter the facility. She then proceeds to further her insult by telling me that us “Daytona trash” are not welcome there.
Instead of fighting with Samanth- at your ormond beach location working the overnight shift, I just left. I’m sending you this message but this will certainly not be the last place I post this story. I’m positive that as many people as possible should know about how you conduct business and as a professional IT technician, I know how to “get the word out” if nothing else.
Don’t worry, “Daytona trash” like me and anyone else I reach that is also “trash” won’t be troubling your ormond location or any other. There are 8 other gyms in this town alone and I would go to any one but yours at this point. Bye bye

Desired outcome: Samantha be replaced by an employee with even the slightest customer service skills. But they won’t because they simply do not care. “Judgment free zone” pshh, yeah right!
Planet Fitness - Television monitor
I returned to Florida in October of 2020. I have been using Planet Fitness since I moved to Florida in November of 2012. I spend my summers in Minnesota. I use my headphones to listen to the telecasts that are available. I like to listen to CNN on monitor number 5. I noticed that the audio on monitor number 5 was not working. I mentioned it to the workers behind the counter and was told that the repair technician had been called to repair it. I have been asking since October and they keep telling me that the technician has been called? Here it is in February of 2021 and the monitor still does not have audio. it's obvious that they are giving me the run around. Do they not want people to listen to CNN? Maybe you can help. Thanks
Planet Fitness - Membership
I called and emailed planet fitness since March or April of this year to cancel membership and did not get a call back. This membership was for my brother and he couldn't attend because the corona virus started then. I am in Daytona Beach Florida, so I have no way of knowing when they would be open. This was a gift and I was paying until the pandemic. They recently took out $4.00 instead of the $10. This seemed suspicious, I didn't know they were open. When I called to find out why the membership wasn't cancelled, I was told that on the 24th of October an automatic payment will be deducted from my account. I couldn't reason with the person that answered the phone. He said the only way to cancel is in person or I should write a letter. I can't email or call, so I told my brother to go there and cancel. I closed my account days before and they tried to take out the membership fee early for $40 on October 2nd, 2020 earlier than they said. I also told them that I was closing that account, so I was shocked that they still try to do this.
Planet Fitness - billing / cancellation
I had wanted to cancel my membership for a few weeks but didn't know when I had to cancel before I would be charged again so I asked one of the employees. She told me that I had until the 10th to cancel or I would be charged for an additional month. So I decide to hold off for another week. A few days later it is June 1st and I am charged the annual fee. I come into the gym on the 2nd and I ask why I was charged and she said it was the annual fee. I ask if it can be waived because I want to cancel my membership. I had only been with this gym for a little over a year and I didn't remember the annual fee date that was in my membership agreement that I read OVER a year ago. She said it couldn't be waived. I promptly canceled my membership immediately. If the employee I asked about canceling several days earlier had mentioned anything about an annual fee coming up I would have canceled sooner. Because Planet Fitness is franchised they don't care if you are unhappy when you cancel because even if you join another Planet Fitness, they don't see any of your money. I am so unhappy and I feel like I was lied to by omission. The first employee I asked about canceling should have told me to cancel before June 1st or I'd be charged the annual fee. This place is horrible.

I PAID $10 AS SOUVENIR FOR MONTH). YOU GIVE GOOD ADVERTISEMENT FOR $10 ( THIS IS YOUR FISH-HOOK), AFTER PAST ONE YEAR, TAKE THE MONEY OF ANNUAL FEE WITHOUT NOTIFICATION( SAID FOR YOUR EMPLOYES). YOU ARE VERY GOOD. THIS IS FORM MAKE MONEY AND NEW GYMS; THIS WAY THE CORP. TAKE ADVANCE LOTS OF PEOPLE LIKE ME. I SEE THIS PF CORP. ISN'T LOYAL, DISHONOUR AND VIOLATE THE INTILLEGENCE OF THE PEOPLE, WHEN PF CORP. STEAL THE MONEY OF ANNUAL FEE WITHOUT NOTIFICATION. BECAUSE PF CORP. STOLE MY MONEY FOR ME. THE POSITION OF PF CORP. IS INMORAL AND ISN'T ETHICAL. SOON NICKNAME OF PF CORP. WILL BE THIEF FITNESS. SOON I CANN'T MORE BUSINESS WITH THE PF CORP. I HOPE YOU TAKE CARE ABOUT YOURS EMPLOYEES, BECAUSE THEY'RE THE FRONT OF PF CORP. I TRUST YOUR PF AND YOUR PF PAID ME THIEVED MY MONEY. IF I SEE ALL COMPLAINTS IN PF WEB SLICE I NEVER GO TO PF. Planet Fitness - billing practices
I originally signed up for the $10 per mont no contract membership for myself and my granddaugter in December. In the end of January, my granddaughter left the state for work and I was diagnosed with a foot injury that required surgery. I notified Planet Fitness that I needed to cancel both memberships. I just got approached by cops for sitting in their parking lot "for too long" cuz guy at front desk obviously had nothing else to do with literally only 1 person in there. Why stay open at all overnight 5 days a week? Seems this gym literally chases members away and banks on their reputation for being rude and unwelcoming. Time to shut down before ruining whole chain.
Great review and very true! Apparently this Sam monster is proud of her reputation for being so rude and Joelle the GM backs her up. Time to go to corporate on this location and shut it down!
