Endless membership on my dime
The whole process of membership was done online. From creating an account to payment information. When you go online to cancel, guess what, you can't. I called the local gym I used and the man who answered the phone said that they need a signature to cancel, that is why it can't be done online. That is ridiculous! You literally cancel nearly every other subscription online! When I said I no longer live close and that is why I'm trying to cancel, He said you can mail us a letter with your signature! Really?! In the meantime, Guess who's still getting charged the fee! What a joke!
Extra Charge without my consent
Don't go to that particular fairview NJ PF location . The manager who I've spoken with was so rude. They tried to charge me extra money which is called " Late Fee" . When I called them , they sounded like they couldn't do anything about it and threatened me to send the bill to the collection if I don't pay LOL. This is how bad they desperate about money from the customers' pocket. Be aware and stay away from that place.

Its freezing out and pf has on the ac
I have been going to Planet Fitness for many years they opened a new one closer to my house in Patchogue NY and from the start, many of us complained about the AC being too cold in the massage sections well now the temps here are cold and the AC is freezing us out every time we complain the staff tells us they have contacted corporate and they tell them but corporate does not send anyone to fix the problem.

30 Minute Workout Area Is Unusable
I have only had my membership for less than a week and I have yet to be able to finish a full workout in the 30 minute area due to inconsiderate people not following the area rules. Today I decided to confront people who were in the way... once, twice, and then when the inevitable third confrontation was inevitable, I spoke to the desk worker. She was very nice and walked back to explain the rules to the rude people in the room, but I was too stressed out to stay to finish my workout. I workout out to relieve my stress but it is an absolute certainty that it's impossible at Planet Fitness.
Recommendation: Don't go to the gym and expect others to be considerate.
Discrimination at Planet Fitness: My Disappointing Experience at the Cranberry Location
I usually go to a different Planet Fitness, but since I have a black card, I decided to try out the Cranberry location. I had an appointment to adopt a cat in the area later that night, so I figured I could get a quick workout in before then. I arrived at the gym around 4:30 PM.
As soon as I entered the gym, I headed straight to the ladies locker room. After changing, I went directly to the stair machine that was in front of the ladies locker room. It was the third stair stepper closest to the entry of the gym. I started my workout and was on the stairs for about fifteen minutes when an employee approached me.
The employee asked me to leave the gym because I had not cleaned the exercise equipment between uses. I was confused because I had only been on the stairs that they interrupted me on. I had not used any other equipment. I tried to explain this to the employee, but he insisted that I had not cleaned the machine and needed to leave.
I felt like I was being discriminated against because of my appearance. I have heavy tattoos and long blonde hair, and I think that may have played a role in the way I was treated. I have never experienced anything like this in the city of Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is a loving community, and I have always been treated with respect.
I was upset and in tears when I spoke with a manager about the situation. He apologized, but said that he didn't have a corporate number to give me. The only solution he could offer was for me to complete an online survey.
I am vaccinated and work as a social worker. I always treat my home gym with respect and would never leave a machine without cleaning it. I felt like I was profiled and kicked out of the gym for no reason. It was a shameful experience, and I hope that no one else has to go through something like this.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at Planet Fitness in Cranberry. I think that the staff could benefit from some sensitivity training and that the gym could do more to ensure that all members feel welcome and respected.
Frustrating Experience at Planet Fitness East New York: Poor Data Management and Inconsistent Customer Service
I've been a member of Planet Fitness for almost a decade now, and I've had my fair share of experiences with their gyms. However, the East New York location in Brooklyn has been the most frustrating one yet. Here are the reasons why:
Firstly, their data management is abysmal. In the past year alone, they've lost my banking information not once, not twice, but a whopping four times. Every time I go in, there's always some issue with my membership. I've had the same bank for five years, and a $10 membership fee shouldn't be a problem. I've even spoken to the manager and provided my routing and account number, as well as my debit card, but it's still not enough. How many people does it take to manage data? Who knows, but Planet Fitness needs to figure it out.
Secondly, the quality of customer service is inconsistent. I've been to two other locations, and they were okay. However, the East New York location seems to have a different handbook on what good customer service looks like. One cold February day, I was turned away from the gym because of an error on their part. The employee was dismissive, rude, and borderline confrontational. The manager was polite and helpful, but their efforts were in vain because my payment information was still entered incorrectly, or the proper steps weren't taken to link their system with my bank.
Lastly, dealing with only your local Planet Fitness when they're the problem is a problem. There's no centralized customer care, so it's challenging to report unsatisfactory experiences or locations. For instance, after providing Planet Fitness with my information four times this year, I started receiving my mother's membership emails instead of mine. I have no idea why that happened, but now you all do, and hopefully, Planet Fitness headquarters does too.
Overall, I'm still a member of Planet Fitness because of their affordable prices and convenient locations. However, the East New York location needs to step up their game in terms of data management and customer service.
Planet Fitness Tigard: Unwilling to Accept Corporate Credit Cards for Monthly Membership Fees
So, I went to Planet Fitness in Tigard to join on May 12th. They had a deal going on where new members could get one free month, which sounded pretty good to me. However, when I got there, the front desk staff told me that they wouldn't accept my corporate credit card for payment of the monthly membership fee. They said that they would ONLY accept checking account information for debiting these payments. I was pretty disappointed because this makes it impossible for my corporate membership.
Not only that, but it also puts members at a disadvantage in the event of a billing dispute. The only way to prevent PF from debiting the dues/fees from your checking account is to close your account and reopen a new one. While the people at the front desk were nice enough, they didn't seem interested in offering a resolution. They just passed me off to an 800 number.
I had to call numerous different referrals to different 800 numbers, multiple departments within each number, and ultimately had to send an email to contact their billing department. It was a real hassle, and I learned that PF has no interest in working with customer needs to gain a new customer. It seems like their motto "You Belong" should actually be "You Belong so long as you do just what we tell you to do".
It's important to keep in mind that it's actually a third party company that handles their billing. Each department you speak to simply blames the other for their inability to work with a customer's need. It's just a ridiculous runaround. Who has time to deal with this BS? Save yourself the trouble and deal with a gym that is professional and has years of experience with billing.
One thing to keep in mind is that companies are getting hacked on a daily basis. As such, wouldn't you rather have a credit card to close and reissue than deal with your checking account exposed to NSF Fees, overdrafts, fraudulent debits? Remember, when you are dealing with PF, at least two companies have your banking information. Double the opportunity for theft. It's just something to think about if you are a business owner considering joining.

Planet Fitness Review: Clean and Friendly, but Music and Equipment Woes
I started going to Planet Fitness in February 2021 after my old gym, the one that starts with "24," closed down. I chose Planet Fitness because it was conveniently located for me. Here are my thoughts on the gym, both good and bad.
First, the positives. The gym is really clean. The staff does a great job of keeping everything tidy. There are hand sanitizer stations and cleaning supplies all over the place, and the staff is always wiping down equipment. They even bring in outside contractors to deep clean the gym periodically. The gym is also well-lit and well-ventilated, which makes for a comfortable workout environment. Another thing I appreciate is that there aren't a lot of announcements over the music system. It's nice to be able to focus on my workout without being interrupted.
The staff at Planet Fitness is also really friendly and professional. They send out surveys to check on customer satisfaction, which is a nice touch. And I love the gym's phone app, which allows for touchless check-in and lets you see how busy the gym is before you go.
Now, for the negatives. One thing that really bothers me is that there are signs all over the gym reminding people to wipe down equipment before and after use, but nobody seems to follow this policy. It's frustrating to see people using equipment without cleaning it first. Another issue I have is with the music playlist. It seems like the gym could easily track the demographics of its customers and adjust the playlist accordingly, but they don't. If you're over 30, the music can be pretty unbearable. Finally, if you have a complaint or concern, don't expect to get any feedback from the gym. They don't seem to address customer concerns in any meaningful way.
Overall, I would say that Planet Fitness is a decent gym. It's not outstanding, but it's not terrible either. It's on par with other national chains. If you're looking for a clean, well-lit gym with friendly staff, Planet Fitness is a good choice. Just be prepared for some annoying music and the occasional dirty piece of equipment.
Disrespectful Staff and Unfair Treatment at Planet Fitness: My Experience
I had a really bad experience at Planet Fitness. One of the staff members, Brittany, harassed me about my tiny nap sack. It was really embarrassing and made me feel intimidated. I've been a member for a year and never had any issues before. I even used to work there at one point.
I was there with my daughter, who is 14 and wanted to learn how to work out. I'm a trainer, nutritionist, and stretch practitioner, so I was happy to help her. We were in a room by ourselves at 6:30 am on a Sunday, and there were only three other members there. I saw at least three people with duffel bags, but Brittany only had a problem with my tiny nap sack.
I told her I would just put it on and continue working out, but she insisted that I leave if I didn't get rid of it. She had a really rude attitude and gave me a blank stare, like a rude teenager. I felt really humiliated and disrespected. Planet Fitness is supposed to be a safe place for people who want to be healthier, but I didn't feel safe at all.
I think the staff members are doing this on purpose to cancel memberships. It's not fair to treat people like this, especially during COVID when we're all dealing with a lot mentally. I'm black and Asian, and I felt like Brittany had a goal in mind when she was harassing me.
I left a small coffee mess for her to clean up, but even the front desk didn't care when I told them what happened. I was banned from the gym, which is ridiculous. I'm a calm person and don't get upset easily, but Brittany's demeanor and energy in front of my daughter was so disrespectful that I saw red.
I also had a bad experience with the hydro bed at another location. I have a lifelong injury from a car accident and need the hydro and massage chair. But when I asked for a cleaner hydro bed, they looked me up and canceled my membership for no reason. The staff is lazy, rude, and disrespectful. I wouldn't recommend giving them any money.

This has to be the worst service I've ever received. I canceled my membership in 2020. Recently, I was made aware that Planet Fitness duplicated my membership somehow, reactivated the account, placed me in a higher membership cost bracket, and began billing my account.
I reached out to see what/why/how this happened. I spoke with Parker who confirmed this was an error on their part and he would request a refund and I would receive an email in 2 business days. He also confirmed no activity on the account.
Well, I received the email, but it said they WOULD NOT BE REFUNDING ME and if I had questions, please reach out to management. Letisha Garza stated that they could not refund just because I didn't use it. I didn't use it because I wasn't aware they PLANET FITNESS created an account in error and then up charged me.
That's not the end of it, I called Planet Fitness Cedar Hill and spoke with Adam who was suppose to be the manager. He said he couldn't do anything and I would have to come into a physical location to cancel the membership THEY created. He also stated that this appeared to be a duplicate account created in error and to contact management. I reminded him that he said he was management and he paused. Yea, gotcha.
He then has me to call customer service, which I did. Spoke with supervisor Cynthia. I explained again what had transpired, and the names of everyone I spoke with. She then stated that the accont was created online and it was nothing she could do. I questioned her because everyone else said it was a duplicate account. She said they were ALL incorrect and it was nothing that they could do. She also said that only way to cancel an account that they created was to go to a physical location. I then informed that I would have to get my bank involved and file fraud charges with the police department. Which is when we were disconnected. That's still not the end?
I received an email shortly after with a form stating that the Planet Fitness account had been canceled.
This is the absolute worst! Now I have to close my bank accounts because of this which is a hassle in itself.
Granted, I should have checked my account to have identified these transactions sooner but still, it fraud. Planet Fitness knows its fraud, have verified on multiple occasions that they created the account in error, and they see no usage. I'm out of $24.96 from 3/16/2021 (Per Parker at PF) to 4/16/22 on top of having to pay my back to stop payment to PF.
Next stop is NBC5 as I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to.
Planet Fitness: Taking Advantage of Customers During a Pandemic
I joined Planet Fitness in March 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I was supposed to pay the annual membership fee of $40 in April, but they froze membership accounts due to the pandemic. The gym near me didn't open until September 2020 and then closed again in October 2020. They sent me emails about the gym reopening, but they never stated when fees would be charged. They charged me for September 2020 for the two weeks they were opened, which I forgave since it was only $10.
I was going to cancel my membership sooner because they required wearing a mask while working out, which I couldn't handle. However, getting into the gym to do anything, whether speaking to the front desk or working out, was a nightmare. Other customers told me they had been waiting for at least an hour.
I decided to cancel my membership another day, but my neighborhood was a red zone in October 2020, which meant that non-essential businesses had to be closed to reduce the virus outbreak. Planet Fitness was closed the entire month, yet they charged me the annual fee on October 1st and the monthly membership fee for mid-October. This made no sense to me, and they didn't give me any warning. I would have been charged overdraft fees if I didn't have money in my account. I tried to cancel my membership, but the gym was closed, and they didn't respond to my emails or calls.
Their company policy demanded a ridiculous letter, which many customers online said PF would pretend not to receive. My friend had the same issue with a different gym called Blink, and she had to cancel her checking account to stop them from charging. I called my bank to see if they could help, and the agent reversed the charges and gave me my money back for these fees. She also told me that I wasn't the first customer who called in about this problem.
Clearly, PF is taking advantage of people by taking their money while the gym isn't even open. They use the "company policy" and "agreement contract" to get away with charging people regardless of the situation and rules that are out of customers' control. For PF, you can sign up online, but there's no way to cancel online, which is ridiculous, especially during a pandemic. I would never sign up with this gym again, and I would advise anyone else to be careful of them. I also won't ever attach my checking account to any service as minuscule as $10 a month to do anything.
Poor Customer Service Experience with Planet Fitness
I recently had a pretty bad experience with Planet Fitness. I'm not one to complain, but I felt like I had to share my story. I'm an amputee and had surgery on my stump back in April. I went into the club and spoke to a manager to ask if I could put my membership on hold or should I just cancel and rejoin when I'm ready. They told me they could put it on hold for 3 months and to let them know when I was ready to come back.
Unfortunately, I had some complications and a second surgery that prolonged my recovery, so I wasn't ready to come back after the 3 months. In September, my wife told me we were charged for Planet Fitness in August. I wasn't able to wear a temporary prosthesis until early September and unable to workout, so I didn't worry about reinstating my membership or cancelling because I was never told I needed to do anything after the 3 months or that there was a time limit on the hold status on my account.
I was busy preparing to go to Florida with the Red Cross so I could be deployed for the hurricane season as soon as I had a permanent leg, so I forgot about Planet Fitness. I was deployed on October 17th to Florida and on Nov 2nd my wife called and said we had been charged again for September. I called my club and told them what I have stated in this letter and that I wasn't able to come in and could they put my membership on hold or cancel it and they said I had to come in to do that.
I explained my situation again to the person and was told there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold. The same person came on the line and said that the manager told him there was nothing he could do I had to come in or send a letter. I hung up and called back hoping to get a manager or another person that would actually try to help me but got the same guy. Again I was told there is nothing he could do and wouldn't let me speak to a manager.
My intention was to see if I could put my account on hold again and see if September and October payments could be applied as a credit to my account when I returned but was never given that chance. I called my bank and they were able to get the funds returned and we put a stop payment on Planet fitness for the amount I was being charged. In December, I was charged for a double payment and a single payment which was apparently able to get past the stop payment because it wasn't the exact amount the stop payment was set up for.
I assume the double payment was to make up for the payments that were returned to me. I immediately went into my club and asked to speak to a manager. He was new and knew nothing about my situation. He cancelled my account and when I asked him if they were going to refund the last payments they took he said he couldn't do anything and to have a nice day. I called my bank and they are working on retrieving those funds.
Overall, I was really disappointed with how Planet Fitness handled my situation. I felt like they didn't communicate well with me and didn't try to help me when I needed it. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future.
Horrendous Experience with Planet Fitness Trainer and Manager in West Palm Beach: Discrimination and Poor Customer Service
I went to Planet Fitness in West Palm Beach South Dixie #0873 in late July 2019 and had a really bad experience with one of the trainers. She was very snappy and sharp with us, and wouldn't let us use a space. She was just very mean and unkind. We had noticed her territorial behavior and odd ways she behaves toward some here like us since she started here a few weeks ago. Although my spouse or I never spoke to her when she mistreated us, my spouse made a comment to me about her nasty behavior and I guess she overheard it and took offense to it. She was behaving in a mean way and seems very hateful and homophobic it seems toward us a married gay couple who have gone to this gym for five years now since they opened. No other trainer here has ever treated us in such a nasty way before.
She told the manager my spouse said a bad word about her. The manager came over to talk to us, my spouse was upset and told her it was not nice how she was treating us as customers and we have a right to defend ourselves from her nasty comportment. The following day the manager called my spouse telling him that his guest member privileges were being revoked and he could never use another Planet Fitness club again in his life and that I as the contract on the membership I could cancel if I wanted since we always come in together to use the gym and actually joined together. We came in and met with the manager who presented me with a form to sign online to cancel and emailed it to my spouse and me. The manager sided with the nasty and hateful employee over long-term customers of five+ years who have never created a problem in all the years and have paid upwards of $1000+ in membership fees over the years. What a slap in the face to us as members.
My spouse also asked why the manager did not give any due process or a second chance, since the employee provoked the entire incident with her mean ways. This gym has deteriorated considerable since this manager took over now the past few months. The employees change every other week, the club is not cared for well, the bathrooms are filthy, the machines need greasing and do not work smoothly, and the employees are ill trained and treat customers poorly or change so frequently. The management and staff here do not enforce the rules for members and allow all to be loud, swear, not break down weights, never clean up after themselves, talk on their phones and sit on machines on their phones not thinking of others.
Since we were forced out by a mean and hateful employee, having my spouses membership revoked and then canceling mine and losing out on 18 days of the gym plus the annual fee, Planet Fitness should have to reimburse us for the time we now cannot use this gym. WE have spoken to our bank to make sure they do not try to charge us more, although we cancelled and have the cancellation; we have heard horror stories about this gym. We believe that this manager and trainer will not last based on how they treat people and their poor leadership. WE do believe Planet Fitness should dismiss them, as you should not have people like them working with your customers. Either way, they will be the cause of their own demise by the way they have been since being at this gym.
The manager is not a problem solver, she is a young kid who really should not be running a business and has no right in a job like that, as she really does not care, and she does not even smile or treat most people well. Many former employees of this gym have told us they all left because of her nasty leadership, so many employees, they all leave, and this says something about this weak and pathetic manager. She would never listen to my spouse and sided with her new trainer who has been on a power trip since she started working at this club.
PF should have a separate training area apart from the areas all people use to work out. Planet Fitness Headquarters needs to step in, intervene, and improve what is going on here. This manager gave a name and email of her superior, and then she called, but the number, name, or email do not show up on any Planet Fitness webpage. Therefore, we are taking the liberty to send our complaint and assessment of the altercation directly to the BBB so PF corporate or regional can address and know what is going on at this club.
Please refund us the portions that we paid of the annual and monthly we were not able to use since you forced us out. We will also look into talking to some lawyers about how we were treated by the employee and manager and how there was never and due process given in this case to use just a revocation. We hope Planet Fitness will take this seriously and improve the management and situation on the ground at the Planet Fitness in West Palm Beach. There is a lot of questionable stuff going on here and customers should never be treated the way we were treated on Tuesday by this employee and then forced out like this by this manager. Please address this fairly and improve the situation here.
Unfortunately, after this horrendous incident with your employee at your gym we could never speak highly of this gym or Planet Fitness as a whole, nor do a positive review, or promote Planet Fitness at all ever to friends, family, and loved one. We are mortified at how we were treated by this manager and your PF employee and wanted to share this review with others. This gym is poorly run now, dirty, and they do not maintain their equipment well here now and employees are ill trained. We hope they can improve and not chase good customers away by their mean and discriminating treatment.
Planet Fitness Review: Great Gym, but Security Concerns Need Addressing
Planet Fitness is a great gym located in Sterling Heights, Michigan. I have been a member for years and have always enjoyed my experience there. The gym is very clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. They have a variety of equipment to choose from, including calisthenics rings and pull-up monkey bars that you won't find at other gyms.
One thing that really stands out to me is how clean the gym is. They have staff members constantly cleaning and sanitizing the equipment, which is especially important during these times. As someone with OCD, it really gives me chills when I see someone cleaning around me. It's a great feeling to know that the gym takes cleanliness seriously.
However, there was an incident that occurred recently that has left me concerned about the safety and security of the gym. On Friday the 30th of 2022, a man with a day pass managed to get into the gym without a physical valid ID. Within 10-15 minutes, he was able to break into a locker and steal someone's car keys, wallet, and other belongings. This is a serious issue that the gym needs to address. It's concerning that someone was able to get into the gym without proper identification and commit a crime.
I understand that this was an isolated incident, but it's important for the gym to take steps to ensure the safety and security of its members. If the criminal had used a valid ID or membership, the police could have easily identified him and charged him with criminal activities. It's important for the gym to have proper security measures in place to prevent incidents like this from happening in the future.
Overall, I still enjoy going to Planet Fitness and will continue to be a member. However, I hope that the gym takes this incident seriously and takes steps to improve its security measures. It's important for members to feel safe and comfortable while working out, and incidents like this can make that difficult.

My name is Ayesha Shaikh. I opened an account for my daughter name Anum Amir. I paid for her for a few months and then she requested at the gym to change the payment method to her own account. After 2 months they charged my account 40 dollar. 20 for fee and 20 for late payment. I called and was told to come to the gym before 10 am, when I did, they told me to call next morning because the supervisor had left earlier. Then next morning I called, they said he is not available and will make sure to call me as soon as he can. Its been 4 more days, no contact again, can you please look into it?

This will be my final attempt to rectify. despite numerous emails and calling the planet fitness in Hermitage, TN 37076. We moved to Guam and cancelled our membership. However, I'm being Billed for a prime and a basic. My banking accounts have remained in a negative due to multiple times of trying to bill me. I have accrued negative balance despite telling management to not bill after i realized it was being continued. I spoke to management yesterday and they assured me that any accounts linked to my phone will be cancelled, and to call my bank to cancel billing. I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the unacceptable behavior exhibited by an employee "Marcus" of Planet Fitness, located at 16852 SW Edy Rd, Sherwood, OR 97140, United States.
There were a couple of us who signed in to use the black card area, and this employee kept talking to someone on the phone without even looking at us. We waited for 10 minutes and he still did not have the courtesy to even acknowledge our waiting.

My local PF located at 3316 Denton Hwy, Haltom City, TX, 76117 was closed on 04/16/24 without prior notification. I made an unnecessary trip only to be informed by a worker that the gym was closed due to equipment upgrade. I was at the gym the day before and there was no signage of notification nor did anyone at the desk inform me of the closure when I checked in. I do not live nearby and do not appreciate being inconvenienced unnecessarily. The closure was clearly scheduled and members should have been notified. I have a very terrible experience with this club, I have signed on 01/2024 for the advertising $10.00 a month , had open my account on line and provided my checking account and debit card #, the amount of $10.70 has been deducted from my bank account for the last 3 months.
Today I received a notification from my bank account that the amount of $93.13 has been deducted from Planet Fitness , when I call them the answer was that is late fee and annual membership.

Sale was made with misleading information. The debit amount was not what i approved and the staff refuse to reimburse and make up excuses that we took extra products which was not what was disclosed nor agreed upon.
No copy of the agreement is provided to the consumer.
