10/3/2023 grooming appt for our dog who received grooming 2 times by same groomer prior this appt. Groomer does a great job with grooming & she was personable the 1st appt, but she didn’t keep a file of ANY info to use to repeat same grooming techniques in future appts. I had to provide this info, but also sensed impersonal connection during 2nd & 3rd (last one) with her. Worse, our very friendly & loving rescue dog that we adopted was shaking when we took him for this 3rd grooming with this groomer. We asked if she gives him cookies while grooming or anything to show caring, but she said only water. She was also charging us higher groomer rates for our very short-haired dog based on being a “long-haired” dog breed. Too impersonal & can’t return based on our dog’s shaking/quivering when returning to this groomer regardless of her quality of work. Listen to your dog. Always. Petco needs to improve groomer’s caring aspects of their jobs, not only for your precious furkids, but in working with the furkid’s parents, Pricing should be based on length of hair at time of grooming services & furkid must feel comfortable/relaxed during grooming. Neither were met.
Desired outcome: Much greater personal relationship with groomer & reasonable charges for length of hair at time of service.
