I have been using PETCO @ UTC, Sarasota FL for many years! The Grooming Service is disappointing caused by unethical attitude and actions of the receiving area. Just as an example, on December 2, 2021 @ 1:55 p.m. I was present for the grooming of my puppy dog as scheduled on the website 3 weeks in advance for 2:00 p.m. The person in charge, a woman without any identification, rejected my appointment for the reason that the website is ' correct' and that only phone calls are the correct ones, rejection with very unethical attitude
This is not the first time the same person has had such an unpleasant behavior. Any time I have to use this service she shows up with very unpleasant attitude and rejection of service. I hope that the store manager (cannot be found) will step up to solve this matter.
Desired outcome: I hope that the store manager (cannot be found) will step up to solve this matter.
Petco - Dog groomer
I have been a customer at the Petco store located on University Avenue in Sarasota, Florida, for three years. I have brought my 13 lb Yorkie Terrier named Mylo to this store several times a year for grooming, bathing, etc. I purchase his food and other pet care items there too. Mylo is a 16-year-old Yorkie and has never been bitten or shown any aggressive disposition towards anyone. Mylo's only problem is that he has sensitive skin and uses a medicated shampoo prescribed by his veterinarian. The bottle is in its original container and has instructions visible on the bottle with an expiration date of Sept 2021. This shampoo has always been accepted and used by dog groomers at this location without any problems. Recently, Mylo's original groomer Hailey left the company and, without our knowledge or choice, Mylo was assigned to a new groomer named Limara. Unfortunately, this is when our good experiences and fair treatment began to decline at this store. Mylo was scheduled to be groomed with Hailey on November 1st, 2020. When we arrived, we learned of the switch, and instead of understanding that we were surprised by the change, she was very sassy and told us that Hailey was no longer there. Limara stated, "Do you want to cancel?" We told her we were already there and would give it a try. The second time Mylo was groomed, Limara made another remark, but once again, we decided to ignore her attitude, and we continued to have our dog's grooming services through this store. This went on for a few visits until last week when Mylo had a scheduled grooming appointment with Limara. When we brought in his medicated shampoo, Limara became very upset and began asking many questions and at one point pulled roughly on his chin hairs to look at his eyes. She demanded we contact Mylo's veterinarian so that she could obtain confirmation that a prescribed medicated shampoo was indicated. Limara questioned them in such a manner that even the veterinarian's office thought she was too excessive in questioning. Limara failed to cut Mylo's hair and left him grossly and partially shaven. Said he didn't cooperate. Mylo was scheduled with a new groomer Heather, but she too gave us the runaround and was also unprofessional. Our appointments were canceled and rescheduled a few times. The last excuse was that he needed a medical clearance was for Mylo because of his age. At this point, was this ever communicated to us or this policy explained. Why the sudden denial of services to our pet? Why the premature and harsh treatment by your employees towards our Mylo and us? Are we the only ones being treated in this manner? We want an answer on how a reputable company can let its employees act in this manner.
Regards,
Mr. and Mrs. Israel Dros

Petco - Horrible customer service
On December 18th we had a grooming appointment at your Cattlemen Rd, Sarasota, Florida store where we've taken our dog for the last year. Unfortunately the new grooming manager is very unprofessional and and absolutely not very dog friendly by the way she was handling our pet. She not only made our pet very uncomfortable she tries to upcharge customers when you choose not to add on additional services. We have a 45lb golden doodle who is and has been charged as a medium dog since day one and this new manager claims he's a large dog and that rate was gonna change. We asked to speak with the actual store manager and while she left to get her I had a conversation with another employee about how they determine size of dog in reference to pricing. She pulled out a laminated guide which clearing states dog 29-51 lbs were medium sized. She then placed the guide away and when the store manager Alicia came in, she took one look at our dog as also said he was a large dog. When I asked how this was determined she said height and weight, so I asked to see the chart. She told me it was only on their computer so there was nothing to show me. I told her I didn't appreciated being lied to and she claimed to not knowing what I was referring to. When I pointed and pulled the laminated sizing chart she didn't know what to say. She refused to tell me what the size chart said because she realized I was indeed in the right.
The weight of our 5 yr old dog is clearly stated on his most recent shot records which they have a copy of and after a year of bringing our dog there we will no longer be a customer of this store unless you have trust worthy employees who value customer service.
