Made reservations. Got to motel. Clerk yelled "no pets allowed"! I said he's a service dog, I'm a disabled veteran and he is my service dog, I have his papers. She yelled "no pets allowed"! Argued with me. Told me to contact 3rd party for refund. Let with no place to stay and had to stay in my car at roadside rest stop. Very upset. Need someone to contact me. Some thing similar happened to my daughter. Made a reservation to a local Baymont hotel in Mason, Ohio in February 25, 2021 for August 22, 2020. Since it was pet friendly, she notified them that they would be bringing a cat along with them and if this was an issue to please contact her. Whelp, August 22 at 7pm she tried to check in and was refused because she had a cat, which the desk person acknowleged that they knew was coming. They informed her that cats were not allowed only dogs and he canceled her room right then and there in front of us. Oh he also sent her an email regarding reason for cancellation and it wasn't because of the CAT, but because there was a problem with the credit card which he never asked for or ran. There was ablsolutely nothing wrong with the card and she has excellent credit for her age. When she asked why they never contacted us or canceled sooner he had no comment and kept repeating NO CATS! Find another hotel! At that time there was a tennis tournament going on in the area so places were booked already. Luckily she ended up at a hotel two or three exits south of her original booking, a La Quinta. There wwas no choice in cost or room just what they had availaable. We paid as much for it with no King size bed, jacuzzie, pool and other anemities and her points for joining the Baymount Wydam group. The worst part is, all they had to do was send a simple email telling her no cats and she would have found another place, no problem, to wait til they show up to check in is unexcuseable, inconsiderate and plain wrong! Getting ready to turn a complaint into corporate. Probably wont do any good, but it's the principal!
Sorry your daughter also had problems. I filed a complaint with Wyndam Corporate and they contacted the Baymont in Tallahassee. They refunded me. I was ready to take them to court and had contacted a lawyer. Customer service doesn't exist anymore. Thx for your comment. Blessings
