PetSmart - grooming

To The Complaints Board:
My dogs were groomed on 6/1/19 and I took the pictures on 6/3/19.
The first two pictures show the bruises on my male dog, Chubbs, who was groomed by Eileen. By 6/3, the face bruise was still showing, but when I picked them up on Saturday night his whole face was a pinkish color. When I asked what happened I was told they had to remove ‘buggers' from around his eyes. I don't have a problem with that but I don't think it was done correctly. When I remove those deposits I usually soften them with a warm cloth before removal. His face looked like they had pulled the hard tears directly off his face.
When I got him home on 6/1/19, I noticed that Chubbs kept walking with his butt lowered to the ground, and starting running around in rapid bursts then would lie down on the tiles. He seemed very agitated but did not cry out in pain when I massaged his stomach or his back. He also didn't seem to want to stand for long periods and gave trouble to eat.
The next day I observed him with the same behavior and decided to call PetSmart on Sunday afternoon (6/2/19) to find what had been done to him and to complain about what I was observing. I found out that an Anal Expression has been done and I wondered if that was the reason for his strange behavior. It was suggested that I bring him in to redo the Anal Expression but I refused. I also noticed the redness near his anus but did not realize until 6/3/19, that the bruising extended all down to between his hind legs. When I forwarded the photos to the groomers, I was told that the bruises were ‘only' razor burns. I have been applying coconut oil to his bruises since Sunday and hope they bring relief as they clear up.
The third picture is of my female dog, Sadie's chest. Sadie was groomed by Trina. Her bruises were much smaller but still visible after three days. She did not show signs of distress but no one wants to see bruises of any kind on their pet. Other than that my only real issue was that her pubic hair had not been cleaned off but I did that myself on Sunday. I have applied coconut oil to her bruises.
The location offered a discount on my next grooming but I will not be taking my dogs back there again.
This is my second try with PetSmart after Chubbs was badly bruised on his chest a couple years ago by a groomer at PetSmart Camp Creek. I started taking him to an independent groomer but both dogs developed a fear of him that I was not happy with so I had to look for another option. Someone told me that the Fayetteville PetSmart was better than the others so I brought them there. I spoke with Brianna at length about my concerns which also included notifying her about an issue Chubbs has with his legs. I was very satisfied with their first grooming which was done by Brianna personally.
Since then, I cannot say that I have been impressed with the quality of the work done on them and this last time has of course been the worst.

Regards,
Michelle Mason-Chapman
