My name is Paula J. Bridges and last Thursday, 1/17/2019 at approximately 6:05 p.m. Eastern Time I left the Kauffman Tire Store Wade Green.
Once I reached my destination which was about 1/2 mile from store, I wasn't able to open my driver door from the inside handle. I immediately called the store and Reggie, Store Manager answered telephone. I told him I was on my way back to store to get a full explanation regarding my car door handle.
The assistant director, Bobby Light met me in the parking lot of store and he was telling me that they always let the customers windows down. I asked him, even in inclement weather because at the time it was a light rain occurring. I asked him why didn't he come inside and ask if I was aware that my driver door wouldn't open from the inside before he pulled my vehicle in the service garage to check my tire. He said he thought it was pre-existing issue. He had his cell phone flashlight looking under driver seat. He & Reggie both said it may be a spring that popped off. I told him that I would have told whoever assisted me in the store to let whomever would be driving my car inside, would need to let window down in order to be able to open door, due to inside handle not working. My handle was working fine when I arrived at store. Reggie, store manager, said there was a customer who didn't tell them not to let one of their windows down and didn't say anything until after it wouldn't go back up. I asked him not to compare me to other people and that I had no reason to not say something if I knew beforehand.
The three of us went inside store and Bobby Light went to computer to look for companies who repair vehicle door handles. I explained to him & Reggie that I already had an appointment with Mercedes Benz of Marietta Monday, 1/21/2019 to get driver and front passenger air bags replaced due to a recall and I could call them to let them know about door handle.
Reggie said to find out how much it would cost or I could get it fixed and to bring receipt to store to be reimbursed. Bobby said he would look into it more the next day, which was Friday, 1/18/2019 and he would give me a call.
Friday, 1/18/2019, I waited until around 11:45 a.m. and never heard from Bobby. I called the store and was told by a young lady that Bobby was off work. I then asked to speak with Reggie since he was there when incident occurred. Reggie seemed somewhat annoyed because I asked to speak to him. I was only calling to remind Bobby that I would be taking car to dealer on Monday and wanted to get my door handle repaired as well but needed to be reassured I would be reimbursed. Reggie once again stated, I needed to find out how much it would cost so that they could reimburse me at the store.
*I advised Reggie that I was shown by company repairing my wheel that the new tire purchased at this same Kauffman Tire store, 11/18/2018 was mounted on vehicle incorrect. I was also advised that I could have been in a serious accident due to this error. He replied that the tire was only using more tread than it normally would.

Called Kauffman Tire store and asked to speak with Reggie. He was in a meeting. I called back and spoke with Corey who gave me telephone number to Customer Service.
I called Customer Service and spoke with Joe and he was going to have Reggie call me after his meeting with District manager.
I received a call from Reggie and he left a voice message stating he was returning my call. I called Reggie back and said, they told me to call you. I have no idea who they is. He advised me to call Customer Service due to stores can only reimburse customers up to a certain amount. I thanked him for information and ended the call.
I called Customer Service and spoke with Sharon regarding incident, 1/17/2019. She advised no one from store had acknowledged the damage to door handle was done by an employee. She placed me on a brief hold and called store to speak with Reggie. She returned to call and advised me that he did acknowledge Bobby Light broke my driver door handle. She said Reggie would need to submit a Vehicle Incident Report. She also provided me with the Regional Manager's name, Russell Gober and assured me once an invoice has been submitted with the Vehicle Incident Report, I would be reimbursed.
*Picture of tire sent as an attachment in separate email.

Thanks.
