Incident occurred, Thursday, April 29th at 113 Mulberry Commercial Park, Richmond Hill, GA 31324 on Thursday April 29th.
I picked my car up after being serviced and once I started driving away I noticed something felt funny on my front passenger side tire. I pulled over, checked, and found that the front of my car was smashed. Naturally, I turned around and went back to Mavis Tire.
I walked in a girl named Brooke kindly asked, "Is everything okay, sir?" I told her that my car had been wrecked. Jimmy, the manager, responds with, "that's impossible, we don't drive the costumer's cars."
I told him that my car definitely got wrecked while it was there, and I would have to see the camera footage then. Then Jimmy continues to talk over me and the other employees any time we try to speak. Also, he keeps saying, "Well, Wednesday is managers day off. I wasn't here." At this point I feel hopeless because I realize the person being rude and acting like it's not his problem because he wasn't there, is the manager.
Then, Brooke says, "Let's go take a look at the car." She agrees that it was definitely wrecked. Then she talked to Will (the mechanic that worked on the car) and he confirmed, there was no damage to the car prior. Then we check the mileage on the paperwork and compare it to the current mileage. We find out that 79 miles was put on my car since I dropped it off at Mavis Tire. Now, the manager is starting to believe me and just starts telling Brooke that this is all her fault. It seems odd because she was the only person treating me with respect, listening to what I had to say, and trying to help me solve the problem.
The cops came, police report was filed.
Throughout all of this I remained calm and respectful even when I wasn't treated that way and I was assumed to be lying about it all. If it wasn't for Brooke being so good with customers, then I don't know how it would've turned out. Pieces of my car are dragging on the ground and rubbing on my front tire, headlights smashed, front sensors broken, the front is busted up. It's been 8 days since the incident, and I've been giving my friend gas money for rides to work every day. He can no longer take me so, I just paid $150 for a rental car.
The police got the camera footage and Detective Maxwell confirmed that an employee drove my car and wrecked it. I asked the police officer if he had any tips for me or what I'm supposed to do. He said contact corporate and get a lawyer. So, that's where I'm at now.
