Longs Drugs - Expired food item

Aloha,

I went to Long's in Mililani Mauka on 12/30/21 at about 5:00pm. We purchased the Frito Lay French Dip for the evening and how embarrassing to have guests start to eat the dip, then have someone say it kind of smelled funny. We find out that it is expired by at least 9 days (12/21/21). It was late in the evening so I called today, 12/31/21 at 2:40pm. When the female answered, I began to explain, she quickly interrupted me to say that I can bring the item back for a refund. I responded to say I don't live in Mauka and she responded by saying I can return to any Long's (tone was not nice at all). This response made me upset as it is new year's eve, you would like me to go out of my way to bring an open/spoiled dip that was sold by you, paid for by me, back to the store to get a $6 refund? She did not even ask if everyone was okay? Did anyone get sick from your mistake? I think I would not have been so upset if she had inquired and responded as if she at least cared and made an attempt to make it right beyond the refund (such as convenience).
