Around 5:04am I came and I was told by the employees they were completing end of shift. A group of customers got upset and very loud with the employees. The employees were basically outnumbered and were trying to deescalate the situation by calming trying inform them of why they couldn't complete there request. I felt the employees were not in a safe workplace and if they aren't allowed to do sales bc they are dropping money into a safe. I think it's only right to let them lock the doors for the 20 minutes of end of shift. All the other 24 hour caseys around the city locks there doors so that this doesn't happen. Why doesn't this Casey's follow the same rule to ensure employees are safe and in a non stressful environment.
Desired outcome: The Casey's should lock the doors while completing end of shift. Having a sign on the door stating that they cannot complete sales due to endo of shift isn't enough.

Concern for change / neglect that has happened at Casey's Store and area around the store -- at 16th St & West Broadway in Council Bluffs, IA.
The store used to be a BP Bucky's Gas Station. It was well taken care of, very busy with customers all hours of the day and night, kept in excellent condition, and all aspects of service were top-notch! NOW, since it has become a Casey's, it has completely gone downhill, service areas are so neglected with NO windshield cleaners filled or clean solution provided, it's just not monitored. The areas of trash at the pumps and the dumpsters are a disaster of neglect. The trash areas are overflowing, piled-up, trash all around on the ground, the surfaces are not clean and nice looking anymore. The walls of the car wash are falling apart, tiles fell off, paint is a mess, the unsightly sides of the buildings are just not maintained. Tried to go fill tires with AIR and a make-shift sign was put up there was no more AIR because the hose end was missing. The person inside at register was inundated with customers and all alone. "We are Hiring" signs were posted ALL OVER THE FRONT COUNTER. The entire outside of store looks a MESS and is DEGRADING THE ENTIRE CORNER OF THE CITY there. This is UNACCEPTABLE and encourages rodents, pests, vagrants to gather (which they were). A company should monitor these things, get a crew in there on a regular basis - to clean up the area and help the one employee. Casey's can afford to take care of their properties or they should close down and sell to someone that can. Stop making our city look like it's gone to the SLUMS. PLEASE, PLEASE check in on these things at all your stores and hire a crew to go store to store to take care of your properties. The 1 or 2 employees can't do it all themselves AND take care of customers. Casey's needs a new business plan and especially new ways of dealing with the deplorable conditions of the store and pumps areas, and the properties. We are not buying their fresh food anymore because if this is how they treat their service areas and buildings, then the cleanliness and condition of their kitchens and preparations for food come into question. Please clean up our stores in our city. We ended up having to go to other competitors stores to get what we needed in cleaning our windows, getting Air, and having a clean environment in which to shop and care for our SUV. We think they should definitely inspect your kitchens the way Kitchen Nightmares does, given the way the other areas of your property look. You all need to get with it -- at the management levels.
