FedEx was supposed to deliver a package today to the church where I work. I waited around for hours because I needed to sign for the package. The driver didn't come until after our office is normally closed, which I knew might happen so I waited for him/her when I could have been doing something useful. The driver apparently just assumed the church was closed and never stopped at all. The driver didn't even pull into the parking lot as far as I can tell. I don't understand what is so hard about checking to make sure that you can't deliver it, why assume?
The customer support person I talked to on the phone emailed me a link to the FedEx delivery manager so I could pass on special instructions to the driver. However, it wouldn't allow me to complete the process because it was only for residential customers, not businesses. I talked to her shortly after the tracking said the driver had failed to deliver the package, I don't know why it would be so hard to call him/her and instruct them to go back and do their job. If I could use the FedEx delivery manager, I could pass on the instructions that drivers should use the West Door (which should be obvious anyway)
Desired outcome: Instruct your drivers to attempt a delivery even if they think the business might be closed. Get it right in the future.
