On August 6th 2019 I purchased two money orders. One for $50 and one for $10. They were accidentally burned. I went back to my branch to see about getting them replaced. I was told I would have to wait 90 days. After the 90 day waiting period I returned to my branch and was told the only way to get my money back was to stop payment on the previous money orders at a cost of $35 each. It is my understanding that after 90 days the money orders would have been void. So therefore there would be no need to stop payment on them. Is there any way I can get my money reimbursed without having to pay the fee for stopping payment on the already void money orders?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
