Working out on Thursday August 17th, I noticed a girl in her pajama bottoms and wearing open toed house slippers. I work out in Shreveport Louisiana at the PF on Southfield and Youree Drive.
I told the folks manning the front desk and was blown off. I got some speech about each gym being individually owned, etc., etc.
When we sign up we get the gym rules to abide by and this gym is really poor at enforcing the rules. And, I report rules that are being abused. My position is that when you let one rule slide, others are soon to follow.
Below is PF's rules about proper gym attire:
**************************************************************************************
Members play a role in supporting both the Judgement Free® atmosphere and safety on the club floor. Athletic footwear and appropriate clothing must be worn at all times.
Planet Fitness strives to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all members. As such, clothing with offensive messages and clothing that may present health or safety hazards or damage club equipment, is not allowed. For example,
Open-toed shoes or sandals pose a safety hazard for members working out;
Jeans or pants with prominent grommets may damage equipment; and
Clothing with hateful, lewd or offensive messaging undermines our welcoming environment
Desired outcome: Have the employees reply to voiced complaints and enforce club rules. The gym attire rule above is only one of several that is overlooked and not enforced at this club. Over 50% of members at this gym are seniors.
