My daughter and I went to have some dinner and the hostess sat us at a table where there was no waiter. We sat there 20 minutes and no one came to the table, I had to ask where is our waiter or waitress. But once we got some service the waiter was very nice, Thing is I'm not sure if I will return to your restaurant because I had to wait so long to be waited one. The people next to us were complaining too. Maybe you should re-train your employees on customer service. Thank You

While I can understand a 20 - 30 min wait to be seated. I asked the hostess if I was skipped by accident seeing how MANY families were seated before mine. I had 3 adults a child and an infant for 5. I was given the response that they were waiting for a table. OK. I waited another 10 min for a 40 min total wait ...when I was originally told 20 mins. Folks I know when the time to complain is...after my wife asked a second time ...we were the annoying customer I am sure...but this is where my real complaint and the reason for this all this lies. We were seated at a table for 4 and were given a sling for the infant right next to...A TABLE THAT SEATED 5 ...THAT HAD 3 FAT ### PEOPLE ALREADY SITTING...THEY CAME IN 20 MIN AFTER WE DID! I AM SO PISSED IT RIUNED MY DINNING EXPERIENCE NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO OLIVE GARDEN TACOMA. This just happened tonight so I have not had a chance to write managment. And to top it off the heavy set hostess staff were giggling like little school girls...FU
This was the worst Olive Garden experience I have ever had. I've been visiting different olive garden locations...on the east side on indy at washington street, lafeyette, and kokomo. However, i visit the castleton location the most. we always have different servers, and always see different ones working. Every time I see the manager, he never respondes to me or my guest, but talks to every table around us. Our server was horrible. We asked for waters, he brought out iced tea. We ordered our lunches and he brought out salad, bread sticks, and soup for myself. He was gone so quickly that i could not even ask him for an extra side of salad dressing. He avoided all of his tables, including mine, every time he walked by. I waited almost 10 minutes to see him come back, and it was with my entire meal at this point. I was still eating my soup and my guest had not finished her salad yet and he just moved it out of his way and set the plate right in front of me. I went to grab for the soup, that wasnt even half eaten yet, and he asked to take it away. After that, we didnt see him for another 10 minutes and when we did, he came back to ask us how it was and we didnt even give him a response before he walked away. He then came up again after some time and didnt even say anything and refilled my water glass right there, spilling it all down the side and not bothering to clean it up or say anything to either of us while he did so. When he came out and asked us if we had room for dessert, he was already pushing the check in my hand. I told him no and continued to eat my meal. He came back 3 or 4 times within 5 minutes, so I finally gave him the cash to pay for it. When I did, he asked if he needed to bring change back, which I find to be highly rude. He brought our change back, with no receipt. So my guest stood up and waited for him to come back around. When he finally did, he simply asked her, "what do you need?" and she asked for him to give us another receipt. He walked off towards the front...and came back after another few minutes and we watched him pull the original receipt out of the trash, all crumpled up, and gave it right back to us. This was the worst service ever and the manager wasnt even around to make a complaint to, but i highly doubt he would have done anything about it because he has still failed to notice his guests. We come in there weekly, if not, at least once in every two weeks. Its a failure to do good business.
Solution: don't go there. When you keep spending money at establishments that treat you terribly you let them profit from their mistreatment of you! I have not returned since our waitress dropped a chunk on parmesean cheese on the floor, then picked it up, slipped it into the grater and asked if we wanted grated cheese on our food! There must be GOOD resturants in your area that would treat you as if they wanted to please you with good service and good food. Spend your money there.
SORRY I have no idea why this was posted to the wrong complaint!
Big deal; they forgot NAPKINS. Mistakes happen. When you realised they forgot the napkins, why did you not check that everything else was there as well? I really do not think there is a need to be so rude over a simple error.
how dare you come off with that 5-star restaurant attitude, on a 2-star restaurant budget !
Also to Margarat...
Did you go for lunch time? Lunch portions are half the size as dinner portions. If this was the problem, we serve dinner portions at lunchtime if you ask for it (as well as lunch portions at dinner time).
And are you honestly going to complain about water spots? It's water. It's not like the silverware was dirty. Do you realize how much silverware we go through in one day? It's not like there is someone eyeballing every piece of silverware for water spots and hand polishing them. Remember... your at the OLIVE GARDEN... it's not a five star restaurant.
We don't serve water unless you ASK for it... with the amount of people who don't drink water, it would be a waste to give out water to everyone if they aren't going to drink it. And if you needed extra napkins... again... WHY DIDN'T YOU ASK YOUR SERVER OR ANY OTHER ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES?
This is what I don't get about the people who complain on this board... everyone seems to complain about things that they never asked their server about... The majority of use are just your average college kid trying to make it by in the world... none of us are mind readers.
You don't have to "write the management"... ask for a manager WHILE YOU ARE THERE. They will comp your meal at BEST and at WORST give you something for free like a dessert and they will usually give you a gift certificate for your next visit.
You never know why the three fat people were sitting at that table... they might have been getting seated somewhere else and then asked the hostess to be seated at the bigger table instead... That happens A LOT and it can really throw off the flow of how customers get seated. But we certainly can't say NO!
Also... infants are ALWAYS given a sling... for SAFETY reasons as well as for convienece.
I am so sorry you had a bad experiance, but next time, please DON'T HESITATE to ask for a manager while you are still at the restaurant. One great thing about the Olive Garden is that the majority of the managers know better than to send a customer home displeased... but we can't help you if we don't know that something is wrong.
And believe me... if there was a 40 minute wait, you were NOT the most annoying customer of the night...
I went out on a date and was completley shocked. The huge plate came to the table with what looked like a tv dinner portion all spread out across the platter as if I was not going to notice that my favorite meal the Tour of Intaly had turned into the Snack of Italy. I left the Olive Garden at 6750 W 95th in Overland Park Ks --still hungry after the meal. At a cost of $39.60 I am ashamed. I had to send back my silverware 2 timesbecause it was water stained- Abigail finally hand washed 2 forks and brought them to the table gleeming oppose to grey and stained from the dishwasher. We did not get water and had to take napkins from the table adjacent to where we were sitting. The manafer tried to look like she had no idea about why we were puzzled with our meal. Here is an idea cut out all the other choices and only serve the best that you have so when customers come they are not short changed. Even the meat was razor thin like a wafer instead of a chicken breast a little juicy. I am 44 years old and have been a patron of the eatery for over 20 years. If I wanted McDonalds I would have went there. No need to dress up Italian fast food with a fancy building named Olive Garden. We are not blind nor stupid. If we have disposable income to eat out we should be treated better than what I have been shown.
So...you hate fat people. We get it. Move on.
Oh, wait, you were complaining about not getting seated for 40 whole minutes - when you didn't have the common sense to make reservations. Wow. Instead of being intelligent and when told you were going to have to wait, did you check for even a second to make sure that your name was put down on the list? Did you even look twice, to see where you might be on the list, especially comparing group sizes?
I've been at a restaurant, told I'd be waiting an hour, was sat in 10 minutes because a ton of 2-person tables opened very quickly. Likewise, I've gone with a larger group like yourself, told we'd be sat in 20 minutes, and waited nearly an hour - not because the staff was incompetent - nor did I begrudge the SMALLER GROUPS that got in before us. Why did I not freak out? Because it took them a while to get enough tables together for my party of 8. I had a good time chatting with my friends and people watching while we waited for our seats. We watched them struggle with where we would be sitting, due to the sheer amount of people who were dallying and whatnot.
It is absolutely mindboggling that pretty skinny ninnys like yourself (since you hate fat people, one can only assume you went to the restaurant to nibble at your salad and say you were full two bites in) don't get how the basic system of a restaurant can seat 3 people before a group of 5 with a child.
Your table size did not open before theirs. That doesn't give you the right to cry about it. Hell, it barely gives you the right to jeer at all the pudgy people who eat at or work at that place.
I hope that manager hung up on you. Seriously.
