I am a renter. A piece inside my dryer cracked and my landlord authorized me to call HSP to have a technician come out and diagnose the issue at a time that was convenient for me. I called HSP on 10/26, had great service, and made an appointment within 5 minutes (which was surprisingly for the next day). On 10/27 the tech came out during the appointment window and found that the part needed was not covered by HSP, but contacted my landlord to have the work approved. The part arrived two days later. I called HSP on 11/1 and spent TWENTY minutes making an appointment for the next day. The appointment window was for 2pm-8pm and I verified the date with the rep because it had seemed like he was a bit confused. The next day, nobody showed. At 8:07pm on 11/2 I called, was put on hold several times while they researched my dilemma, and was told a technician would not be able to come out that night. I was also told I would have to reschedule and did so for 1-5pm on Thursday 11/5. I told them I had already spent most of my day waiting for a technician and was very unhappy. The rep asked what I wanted him to do about it. I said that it would be fair for them to reduce the cost for my landlord since it was taking so much of my time to have this completed. He said the cost was only going to be $30 because it would only take the tech 15 minutes to install. He then said they couldn't negotiate with me because I wasn't their customer. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She came on the phone and I explained what had happened and what I was requesting. I was told, again, that because I wasn't their customer there was nothing they could do for me. I told the supervisor that I wasn't their direct HSP account holder, but I was a potential HSP customer. (I am also a CenterPoint Energy customer for my electricity.) I was disappointed with the lack of concern for the end customer, and the lack of respect for the time I spent waiting for them to honor their verbal contract of replacing the part. I sent my landlord a message briefly describing what had happened. This morning, I received a message back from my landlord stating that they had contacted CenterPoint who had no record of my appointment for the previous day, but they did have an appointment scheduled for Thursday from 8am-12pm. I explained to them that the appointment I had made during the 30 minute call last night had been for 1-5pm, not 8-12. I contacted HSP again at 9:47am today. After sitting on hold for 10 minutes waiting for Customer Service, a gentleman from Sales answered. He transferred me to the Service department. A nice young woman answered and was very nice. She changed the appointment back to the original, agreed upon time of 1-5pm Thursday 11/5. I also asked if the records showed that I made an appointment for Monday 11/2. She said that she could see where I called in 11/1 requesting an appointment to have the part installed in my dryer, but it appeared that the rep I had spoken to had not input the appointment. I asked for his ID number. She gave me [protected] as his identifier.
