View all 34 complaintsMain Street Renewal - Accuracy of Ledger (My overpayment credits missing), and ongoing water concerns since September.
I moved into house on 8/19/23, and starting placing work orders 8/22, 8/27, 9/4 and so forth. Almost daily follow ups required as weeks rolled by. I had to continuous repeat myself when calling in, emails, maintenance ticket being made, escalations, and emails sent to & from every depart within MSR from a mixture of me, different staff members.
It went on for months, that cycle. Technically still is. As water was cut off in September with no notice or warning. It wasn't until reaching out to the local Housing Authorities, and retaining a lawyer that water was cut back on the end of October and all maintenance issues then fixed. Which is unprofessionally unacceptable. HOA reached out to me to inform me "no one from MSR updated her to new tenant, however someone has to pay or sadly I'll suffer. An that water was cut off originally back in July but someone within MSR maintenance team kept cutting it back on".
However, after a few uncomfortable and extremely confusing conversations, the HOA lady (Gail) places all responsibility on me because she claims its unheard of. Thou theres a undeniable disconnect with MSR, and there HOA or vise versa. Where, I the tenant suffer, is at a loss, etc... The HOA lady stated "I do not want to deal with MSR in regards to water payments (Oct 5 & Nov 22). An will continue to seek payment from tenant since it's easier & avoids the evident delay in payments or lack of communication with MSR". Which is not right. Creating a repetitive cycle of my children & I living in uninhabitable living quarters. Yet I'm still required to pay full rent of 1861.67 for 3BR, by 5th or access a late 5% late fee and in less than 10day a letter threatening Eviction. Despite, there lack of communication cost me money and of no fault of my own. MSR shows no humane courtesy, offered no extension due to there failure to fix or address matters in a expedited nature but more added stress & worries. Ive only only been here 3 month and it hasn't been smooth dealings, straight forward help or peace since I moved in. MSR must hold themselves to the same standards or higher, then tenants. With being new to state & MSR Property Management Company and seeing on news stations how the NC MSR property management team falls into slumlord category here. An watching them juggling me all around, even in uninhabitable living conditions. Your new tenant having to make ways for me & my children to wash because we're without water for 30 day (due to no fault of my own) and pipes backing up just 3-4 days prior (took 2wks for them to fix that) is devastating.
Having to retain Lawyer (Letters sent to MSR 9/6/23) because contacting the residents care team, utilites depart, leasing agent after signed or HCV department gives us no timely mannered resolution or proper documentations on account. An here we are again (see attachment from HOA) which is part reason Im in duress, despite my many efforts to resolve, clarify or properly communicate on phone. Im still being disregarded & my attorney for that matter, if water is disconnected again on Dec 1, 2023. These situations have created a ripple of events that has consumed my life, cost me my job since moving in and its overwhelming.
No one should be placed in a situation like I have been since moving into what should have been a good thing, our new start In a new state... To be torn between buying water to wash while living in urine & feces stained filthy carpeted house, spending extra money on gas just to find somewhere we can wash at 4:30-5am or after school hours when kids need to focus on school work Or pay rent & go without because MSR expects full rent to avoid eviction, on top of a HOA company stressors. Meanwhile lacking income due to the juggling of maintenance, drawn out unrecitified conditions and demand of MSR. Do you know how embarrassing this has been, can you put yourself in my shoes? *See attachments*
It's depressing and have been very unprofessionally handled with no honest empathy or accountability taken from Main Street Renewal, the least.
MSR has a revenue of $114M and should embody overall better management, organization and attention in every state. As quick, and thorough MSR is to fill a empty property to make money, get every penny prior and deny us re-Entry into our new rented home til day of move-in. MSR should truly place value in checking information, the facts to confirm house is in fact ready, prior bills have been taken care of, to truly be ready to lease. As well as there Leasing Agents being honestly aware and knowledgeable of the properties there assigned to or pick up. This is me & my childrens livihood, my money given that MSR is happily taking without a second thought to any of the things ive mentioned and I do not take that lightly.
I expected so much better then what I've been through especially because I just moved in. I have never not paid anyone on time or before, bill was due until that month of water being disconnected. An when I have paid early or more with MSR, that disappeared and has been wrongfully debited (another needed correction).
Sadly Im still having the on going water issue. I've requested for someone/anyone higher up to contact me several times. I've even contacted Corporate because if the local office is dropping ball or not doing right by a tenant.
Who else are we suppose to contact but their boss, Headquarters or owner. Today it became very evident no one wants to talk to properly resolve, move at a reasonable timely manner, so we can finally be done with all this. An I can truly be at peace with residing here, under MSR.
Im writing this because I, WE matter and its of Urgency. No ones communicating to resolve but pass around. I genuinely need to speak with someone In a position to fix ledger & water concerns.
I truly need help and hope this can be resolved, without things having to become even worst before better, more months of repetitive reaching out, following up to what should have been my follow-ups with still no resolutions.
NC residents w/MSR needs better quality management service. It's essential for Good Property Managing. I have attached some item for your reference and my authenticity in these matters. I genuine insist that higher up reach out to me, to correct address and rectify concerns.
I could not attach everything for it is alot. However, If pictures, emails, letters sent to MSR from lawyer doesn't provide valid reasons for desired outcomes or more. Please don't hesitate to contact me @[protected], anytime.
Claimed loss: 30 days without running water excluded 2 wks prior. Having to buy over 20 gallon of water for me & my children to clean ourselves, etc. Loss of employment, being put into duress due to no fault of my own.
Desired outcome: Original credits restored to ledger. HOA notified that I'm not responsible for water payments. Lease correction or documentation needed for accurate clarity for I was told they couldn't. Compensation/concession of no less than $300
