I recently took my soon to be 6 month old puppy in for a bath and cut and was very disappointed in her grooming and how I was treated. I first took my puppy in for a consultations to to discuss getting my puppy groomed to ensure that my needs for my dogs grooming would be met. After speaking with employee's during my dogs consolations I was assured that they would be able to properly groom my puppy. When I arrived for my appointment I reviewed with the employee that would be grooming my puppy what I expected and left my puppy in Petco hand. Once I returned to pick up my puppy, I examined her and noticed that she barely had her face trimmed and it did not look like she had any of the hair on her chin cut or around her mouth or ears. I brought this to my groomers attention and it was blamed on her being excited and them not being able to groom her there. The groom then proceeded to tell me that she needed puppy training and should be brought back for classes and be groomed at least once a month to get her use to the process. I felt shamed for my puppies behavior and did not appreciate being spoken to in that manner. I'm also upset to now know that Petco is not capable to handling my dog when that should have been discussed during consultation when employees saw my dogs excitement. I even mentioned my dogs excitement when she is at a place like Petco or the Vet and was not told that her excitement could interfere with her grooming.
I mostly did not like feeling shamed for my puppy's behavior and let like Petco was only trying to get me to spend more money. I'm also curious to know why you accept puppies when you can not handle puppy behavior?
