On April 2, 2024 I bought a few items. The cashier (Nicole) was more interested in what was going on in customer service than servicing me. When I got home I noticed that I was overcharged for 2 of 9 items I bought. There was a long line at customer service the following day. I asked 1 of the cashiers that was not busy if she could help me with an overcharge. She said no. I saw Nicole who was not busy & asked her since she made the mistake could she help me. She said everyone makes mistakes but did not help me. I waited for over 45 minutes. There were several customers that were bringing back groceries finally gave up and left. However, those that needed a money order to pay their bills waited in line. There were comments that it was busier yesterday as they get a lot of people that need money orders. It's unfortunate that Smith's has become a money order bank instead of serving the customers that actually buy groceries from them. I even asked the manager if he could get some additional help. Instead he replaced the person that was going home with Nicole. She was extremely rude, though she found the time to talk to her neighbors waiting to get Money orders about her personal life. I learned she has an autism child & her 2 eighteen year old twins were moving to Phoenix. She hated her apartment & she was getting a house in a couple of months. She was very unprofessional. She commented that they only had 1 computer that worked. The overage of my 2 items was because the produce put 50% off but it rang regular price. The 2nd item was an expired sale item in dairy that the store forgot to take off the sale label. I took a sales advertisement & when I got home saw it had already expired. This is the closest store to my house. However, whenever I have more time I will go out of my way and shop at the Smiths on Eubank, or a different store. The Eubank store is proficient and customer service oriented. I have never filed a complaint but after many mistakes with the Montgomery store management it needs to improve in providing correct prices as well as having employees that service their customers. It is terrible that I had to make another trip that was caused by incorrect pricing & then I had to wait over 45 minutes to be helped.
