I ordered a Canon G9 Digital camera and an ultra high speed SD memory card from this company on Monday 13 October this year and received an email asking me to make a phone call to confirm my order. When I did, the person I spoke to began to convince me to buy an additional battery. I explained to him that the battery that came with the camera would do for me and he said that it has a short life-span of 15 minutes while the one he was going to sell to me at additional cost of $149 would have a life of 5 hours. He said he would also sell me a G10 in place of the G9 that I ordered and give me the battery charger at no extra charge. I accepted his proposal but asked him to send me a pro forma showing an itemized costs and he said he would do just that. After waiting for one hour without hearing from him I called his number but a recorded message told me they have closed for the day so I sent in an email requesting to have the details of what I am purchasing. That email was never responded to. On the 17th I received an email from the company informing me they have sent my order after charging my credit card $544.62 as against the intial grand total of $370.82. It was not itemized but instead presented as a "bundle package deal". I received the camera two days later and discovered that this man is full of lies. First he did not send two batteries as he had promised but only one which I found out from the camera manual was actually the battery that came with the camera and can work up to 5 hours. Again, although I paid $89.99 for an ultra high speed SD 2GB memory card, he sent to me the inferior Dane-elect SD card that is not more than $15 in the market. I have made several attempts to speak with him about this matter but the moment I introduce myself he would drop the phone on me. I have done a little investigation and now know that this man is using two business names inorder to con people and remain elusive. I'll want to reveal his true identity so that any of his victims who wants to take action agains him can do so. His name is Simon Silver and his genuine business name is Megawholesale located at 1151 McDonald Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11230. His order phone number not listed on his fake website (without address) is [protected]. I have seen by what many people have wriiten on your site that I am not the only agrieved person. I have followed the example of some and called my credit card company to change my number. That company is capable of anything. I thank you for this opportunity to make this complaint through your website and advise anybody who reads this my complaint not to buy anything from HD Camera World. They are not straight.
