11/30/2019 at 11:00am I had a horrible experience at the deli counter; 2 customers were being helped and 3-4 of us were waiting our turn (the number counter was empty so no one could take a number). A woman who was stocking outside of and at the far end of the deli near the cheeses asked if the 1 woman counter worker was alone and then noted that there was another counter worker (a man); a 4th worker started walking over (she was behind the counter at the far end somewhere) with an angry look on her face, peeled off some gloves and said she'd help who was next. I asked for sliced meat, she took it to a slicer (there were other ones open to use) and then started cleaning it. While she was doing this, the 2 who had been working behind the counter finished with their 2 customers and took 2 others who were actually AFTER me. ... When the worker seemed to finish cleaning the slicer, she started walking away and when I asked for what I had already asked for--as she was walking away from the slicer, she told me in a nasty tone that she had had to clean it. Are slicers employee-specific? Is there some reason she exasperatedly walked over, took my order and then went to the dirtiest one there? And when she finally gave me the meat, not a word of 'sorry for the delay' or anything. Absolutely awful. Then at the checkout, the cashier told me to scan my Giant Eagle card, which I did and I heard it beep, but when I got home and looked at my receipt, there was no fuel perks on it and it said at the bottom, 'GET A GIANT EAGLE ADVANTAGE CARD TODAY . . . COULD HAVE SAVED $7.71. Why didn't the cashier note that the card reader didn't get my card when she told me to scan it? I want the savings I should have gotten and I hope the poor behavior of the deli counter woman is noted on her record. My Advantage card number is [protected]; credit the account with $7.71 and give me $83.15 worth of fuel perks.
