Menards

Back in June of 2021, we ordered panels, posts and two gates to have a Richmond Vinyl Fence installed in our backyard. The panels and posts came in on a timely basis, as well as one gate. We ordered two gates, and are having much difficulty getting the second one delivered to the store, so our contractor can install it. We have pre-paid for this gate along with our fence, and have the order number and receipt. We are very upset over why the vendor for the second gate is not keeping the store informed about our gate. We were told so many things from the sales people we ordered the gate from. First they said your gate is on back order, then they said the vendor discontinued making your type of gate that fits your fence. My husband went down to the Menards and asked what type of gates did they replace what they don't produce anymore with. He was told they don't have those either, and they would not fit our fence posts. The entire fence is already completely installed, but we continue to have a large open gap where the other gate is supposed to be. I called one of the Menard stores in northeast Ohio and asked for the vendor's phone number so I could contact them myself. They gave me a name of Yardworks as the vendor and provided a phone number. I called it and it was in Canada, and they said they have nothing to do with Menards. I called the salesman back again, and he gave me another bogus number that belonged to an Insurance Agency, again blocking me from reaching the vendor. My husband caught the salesman once in a lie when he said the gates were never seen since June 1 of 2021, and our payment receipt proved otherwise. Every time we speak to a salesman they take our email and phone, and never get back. When we call them back, one of the other salespeople says they are with another customer, or left for the day. I called today and stated we needed the fence gate within a week, to get them on the ball to finding one for us. They said some stores outside Ohio have our type of gate, and every time they phone one place they said the gate sold that morning. It seems they are fully aware that we as paid customers have been waiting for this gate, and they are doing little or nothing to keep us informed, or find a solution for us. This is going now into the fourth month. They keep saying their vendor has not emailed any information to them about our gate. And again, will not disclose the correct vendor or contact number. We are so tired of getting the run around, and know our contract has been breached for seller failure to deliver. The date of purchase for the gate was June 23, 2021. Our order was made at the Brook park Menard's store in Cleveland, Ohio. Our order number is CLEV 64159. Our desirable resolution for this complaint would be to find us a gate that they claim the vendor discontinued making. The store should have had better communication with the vendor if this was to occur, and let the customer know they will be discontinuing certain parts, before we went ahead and had it installed. We absolutely want a gate, or one that fits, or two that match our type of fence. We do not want to have to tear down the entire fence to have to put up another one because of a missing discontinued gate. They claim they still have places that make this gate, and we need to have them find us one in a timely manner, like within a week or so, not another 4 more months waiting. Please give us a solution so we don't have to litigate this issue.
