Chevron - Customer service

Hi There,

At around 5:40pm Oct 28, 2023, I came to the 2281 NW 185th Ave, Hillsboro, OR, 97124 location.

Prime rush hour, my gas tank was near empty. I parked and saw a Chevron employee helping someone fill their car, as this is a full service place. I waited 5 minutes no one came, so I decided to pump my own gas.

It read the card and I picked the type of fuel, and tried to pump, nothing came out. I tried multiple times, nothing. So I rang the "call customer service" button. It is a full service place so I know there is someone available to help with these. I waited another 5 minutes, nothing. I pressed again. I looked over the cashier, this lady was angrily making hand gestures I didnt understand and then finalla "what do you want?!" I tried explaining from where I was and she kept making angrily signs at me. A customer walked out from the store and came to his car, close to mine, shook his head at her in disappointment, and made a "im so sorry" face at me. I went into, the moment I entered, this woman, Phillis (short spiky blonde hair"started screaming at me, on top of her lungs, in front of all the customers. She kept screaming multiple things including"Im busy with my customer, you keep pressing the button and I said I cant come but you keep pressing the button"she made hand sign of"fingers walking"and said I should understand shes busy. Shes already screaming.

I said"Ok but how am I supposed to read your sign language?!"She said"I asked what the issue was and you didnt tell me!"still screaming.

I said"How am I supposed to explain from way over there?"she started screeaming on and on, that shes so busy, and its just her here. Next to her was the other employee, counting coins. He kept looking at me and apologizing.

I said"no actually there are two of you here"she said"yes but hes counting money and I have customers, im not going to leave my customers here for you"The young man, looked at her and said"I can go out and help her!"she yelled at him and said"you stay right there and you finish what youre doing"!

He looked at me and apologized again and said"Just wait, i'll be with you shortly".

I was just really taken aback and really offended. Eventually the line of customers ended, and shes still just yelling at me. saying"I even spoke to the machine and you didnt respond"I told her I didnt hear a word from the machine. She then suggested that I'm lying about it and I purposely ignored it. I asked her why would I have the need to lie about that? She said some people press it to annoy them. I said"ok good to know but thats not why I was doing it, otherwise why would I be standing right here instead of being comfortable in my car?"The she again said, I told you I'm not leaving while I have customers!

This whole time there wasnt a line, and now there were two people behind me.

Shes screaming,"I NEED YOU TO STEP ASIDE, I WILL HELP YOU AFTER MY CUSTOMERS"So I moved aside, and said"apparently everyones a customer here but me"She said"Excuse me young lady! I need you to watch how you talk to me!"Mind you, she has been SCREAMING, loudly this whole time! In front of everyone!

I said"You have been screaming at me, none stop from the moment I entered the place."She said"I need you to leave! I NeeD YOU TO STAND OUTSIDE AND WAIT THERE! LEAVE! I HAVE LOST MY VOICE BECAUSE OF YOU!"I literally responded"then stop screaming at me!"and left. I decided to wait in my car. About 10 minutes later a young man named Quinten came out. He apologized again. I asked him if I was really in the wrong, he said I wasnt and that Phyliss was having a"bad" day. Like that was the reason for her to make my really good day into a bad one, and now Im sitting writing this long post instead.

How she treated me, was NOT ok. How she was screaming in front of others, was NOT okay. I will NEVER go back to that place again, even though its close to my house. she is SO rude, so mean, so unprofessional in every single way and it was clear she was mistreating her co-workers as well.

Desired outcome: I want an apology but honestly, I dont think she should be working in customer service or in a customer facing job.
