Aerotek in Portland, Oregon found me a job. I worked one shift and realized it was not something I wanted to do, the job was too complex for me. I emailed the recruiter and let him know that I did not want the assignment. He called me back with a co-worker of his that was more familiar with the client and they tried to beg me to go back for a 2nd night, I refused. I emailed them the next day to further explain myself and I have yet to get a response. Matt Grothe is the recruiter I was dealing with. When the process started and he told me who my contact was at the company he got the guys name wrong he told me to meet with a guy named Kevin Tatter, through my own research I found out that the guys name is actually Kevin Tadder. One mistake, no big deal, but when I asked Matt to please send an employment confirmation letter to my housing authority he got my name wrong on the letter, instead of my name Donald Zimmerman he put Gerald Zimmerman. The fact that he is refusing to communicate with me now is very unprofessional and childish. I would not recommend doing business with someone so incompetent and unprofessional. I did not walk off the job, I completed my shift and treated their client with respect. Isn't it better that someone says right away that the job is not a good fit rather then let the company train you further and waste more of their time. It just goes to show that Aerotek or at least this recruiter cares the world for the client but does not value the employee what so ever.
Desired outcome: I want to get paid for the one day of work and would like to speak with Mr Grothe's boss.
