My husband and I were going to buy a gazebo that was in our local store for $1199.99. The castle pines hardtop gazebo from broyhill; however, when the employee checked it was not in stock. We drove from salem to albany and it was not in that store…or any store in oregon near us. We were told they did not know when or how many they would be getting. Okay, I get that covid has ruined everything with regards to getting things in the stores, so we waited and checked back and it never came in. We finally asked if we could get on a list for the display. The employee we asked went to get the manager who could not be bothered to come out (yet my husband could hear her in her office about 3 feet away) and she told her employee to let us know there were several people on the list already. We added our name and asked that if they got any in stock or people passed on the display we would like to be called…again we waited and never heard anything. We wanted to get the gazebo prior to the end of the summer so being frustrated we started to shop for another one elsewhere. By the way you cannot even get the gazebo direct through broyhill, yep you put it in and get routed to big lots. Anyway, the other day I was again in the store with a friend hoping to buy furniture when low and behold I see "the" gazebo. It is still on display and guess what? Now it is on clearance for $899! Awesome right? Nope, guess what? Still none in stock. Here is my question. Why do you have items not in stock on display for months? Do you just like to toy with your customers? Why do you put people's names on a list and never call? Why don't you just say if you want this you'll have to come to the store daily to see if it is here because we will never call? Why does your management not care about customers? The first time she could not be bothered to come out and then when we called asking about the fact it was now on sale and to check if they had any or if we were still on the list for the display we never heard anything. Here's the thing we found and already have up another gazebo that cost much less, but just wanted you to know you lost a big sale due to the extremely poor customer service.
Desired outcome: Someone to read this an actually try to change something about how you do things as a company.
