I purchased a mother of the bride dress from David's Bridal on 10/31/20 for an event on 12/21/20 - transaction ID 03116897. David's Bridal had limited selection of dresses both available for try on and available for delivery within this timeframe. Due to the limited time available, I reluctantly selected and paid for a dress I did not get the opportunity to try on, assuming that I would have the opportunity to try on and accept the quality and sizing of the dress once it arrived. I left feeling unsure about the situation, and afterward found a more appropriate dress online through another retailer that could be shipped in and that I was permitted to try on at home and return if needed. When I informed David's Bridal that I did not want the dress that I had ordered, they informed me that the 7 day window to return my dress had passed. David's Bridal could not and did not provide the dress within those 7 days. I never saw nor tried on the dress and assumed there would be a window to return the dress after the dress physically arrived. At no time did an associate inform me that my return window would expire before my dress arrived. This is an unfair business policy. I requested a refund to my original form of payment both from store and corporate. I was informed that I could only get a merchandise credit that can only be used for in-store purchases - not even online purchases. I don't have another event coming up for which I would need this merchandise credit. I will never use David's Bridal for any future events, but I ask that something be done to protect future consumers from this unfair business policy. I also ask that consideration be given to return funds that should have been provided to me in the form of a return rather than a merchandise credit they know will likely never be used.
