On 9/16/19, in Abilene Texas, I purchased items totaling $49.13. I paid by check, but because the computer suddenly stopped working the transaction had to be started over on another register. Once everything was rescanned, the clerk tried to run the check again but it was considered "duplicate" and wouldn't take it. The manager said I needed to "give her another check and then on Monday, (2 days later), call the bank and if charged twice bring bank statements back and they would find someone to authorize a refund on one of those". I was not comfortable with this (and I had to work Monday), so I asked her to cancel the transaction and she said that was fine.
I left with NO merchandise and the blank check with nothing on it.
On Monday I checked my bank statement and it was charged the $49.13 check #4856 on 9/16/19! Now I have no merchandise and the bank said they cannot cancel the check as the check has cleared. Basically, I was charged 49.13 for merchandise I did not receive. I would like either my money back, or the merchandise I was declined.
I have been a very loyal customer of PetSmart since it opened in Abilene. I shopped there frequently as I have multiple pets. Even after PetCo opened, I only shopped at PetSmart, but now I am unable to return to this store for fear of having my money stolen again. I'm hoping your integrity and ethics would look into this store and even if you do not return my money, prevent other customers from loosing theirs.
