I go to the Winco in Arlington often and I know some of the regulars. And since I have gone at different times of the day and night I've seen some very disturbing behaviors from customers against the staff. I've even had to step in a couple of times because the customers have been so awful.
This last occurrence has swayed me from returning to your store EVER again and made me feel so sorry for the staff having to take such abuse because you don't have anyone sticking up for them. The fact that I, a disabled person, had to step in while a customer went off on your employee and all she could do was take it because there was NO MANAGER, NO SECURITY, and NOONE coming to her side is just disgraceful. This is a normal occurrence at this location that I finally got tired of the vulgarity used by other customers that get away with it EVERY TIME I've cross paths with them at the store. When this lady got mad at the cashier for NOT bagging her groceries she attempted to use the racial card and threaten this young lady trying to do her job. I kept waiting for someone, a manager, an LP, or a security guard to come to her side, yet not one single individual came. The cashier just stood there taking the profanity name-calling and threats the customer spat out. I finally told the woman that she had to bag her own groceries, and she replied that if she spent her money there the cashier should bag her groceries. She continued to yell, threaten and even tried reaching over the counter at the cashier. At that point, I went up to her and asked her to leave or I was calling 911. She got right in my face to threaten me for taking up for the cashier, stating "You wanna be a f'ing b***h and not mind you're own business, I'll kick your a** too." My reply to her, "Bring it." She turned to walk away yelling profanity and even held up the line by moving very slow bagging her food and still saying words.
The fact that even after I got involved there was still NO MANAGER present to help the employees. That alone made me finally realize that not even I was safe shopping there since the store obviously didn't care about their employees much less a customer, like me, sticking up for their staff.
This incident was NOT the worst one I'd seen at your store. A man came within inches of hitting one of the other cashiers another time. He threatened to beat her to death because she wouldn't sell him alcohol and throwing things at her while walking away. I've yet to see a manager on duty at this location, much less anyone toss out any and all customers that pose a danger to your staff or customers. By the way, things are going at this store someone will get hurt either employee or customer, but I'm guessing your company doesn't care as long as you keep collecting the FOOD STAMPS from people like that.
I've NEVER shopped at any other grocery store that allows such vulgar people abuse the staff over not being able to buy alcohol or bagging their groceries. All the employees could do was stand there and take it.
Desired outcome: Where are the nighttime managers, security, or someone with a backbone to prevent things from escalating as they have been?
WinCo Foods - bulk bin dog treats
I see one other complaint about this from 2013, I tried out some of the treats from the bins yesterday and an hour later my dog could barely stand up. We'd call him over, and he would struggle to haul himself up on his hind legs, then a minute later staggered and stumbled forward. He laid down for some minutes as I called the vet at night. Watched him for some more minutes and he got up just fine and normal again..
He ate three little cheesy rolls. The treats were the only variable changed that day, but I don't know... I'd stay away from these just to be safe.
