Vitaliy was great and very pleasant.
It was the financing department I have a problem with. The lady, knowing I didn't have proper ID at the time, didn't bother to tell me she couldn't sell ME the car, however she could run MY credit 5 times?!? yes, these were hard inquiries which go against the credit I have worked to improve for the last 5 years. My partner, (whose credit was not run) is the ONLY name listed on the loan application where, by the way it does NOT ask for ID information (marked NA) and the secondary name on the application doesn't have any space for ID information at all. STILL doesn't have MY name on it. My partner was not the one purchasing the vehicle, did not put any money on it and will not be paying for it yet HIS is the ONLY name on the vehicle. I did some research and called DPS and THIS is what I learned
Texas does not require a license to buy a car at an individual level or a dealership. If you buy a car from a dealership without a license, you cannot test drive the car or drive it away. However, you can still purchase the vehicle in your name.According to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, you do not need a driver's license to register and plate a vehicle. Unfortunately, you need auto insurance to register a car, and in order to get auto insurance, you need a driver's license.
Yet the lady Angela? told me she could not legally sell it or put it in my name. And FYI my name IS on the insurance card.
I have yet to take possession of the vehicle due to a seatbelt safety issue. And after finding out there was no valid reason that my name should not be on the vehicle, I'm not sure I want to continue with the sale. I made a down payment of $3000 and have not taken possession of a vehicle.
AS for financing, she did not run my partners credit, but I believe she put it in his name because he has a significantly lower credit score. (Which she also lied about telling me my score is 609 when it is 683 I had the credit report in my purse to be sure I had the correct info) because she could charge an outrageous interest rate (24.5%) and a financing acceptance fee ($3500)
But the fact remains she is putting the Title and financing in someone else's name that is NOT purchasing the vehicle.
Desired outcome: My NAME on the title. Or refund my down payment AND a letter to the credit bureaus removing the inquiries off my reports.
