HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest - negligence in treatment of head wound

22 year old Leo Menifee was brought to Northwest Memorial Hospital with a gun shot wound to the head and was still talking upon his arrival. Once the family made it to the hospital we were being informed by the police that he was deceased. His guardian was called to the back and asked about donating his organs, different news stations were reporting his death as a 19 year old black male being killed. Later into the night the staff supervisor came out with Leo's older brother advising that Leo was hemorrhaging. We asked if he was going back to surgery and they advised that he could not be moved and that they had to stabilize him. This went on into Saturday, 11/23/19. Around 10 am CST they advised his older brother/POA Timothy Menifee that they needed to request medicine from the medical center downtown to proceed with a needed test to check for Brain activity. A little after 1pm/2pm they came back advising that he had failed the test. The family has requested to see said test results and or x-rays or CT scan results and they have not been able to produce. Timothy Menifee asked to have his brother Leo Menifee transferred to another facility capable of handling his condition and was told they would oblige but after waiting 2 to 3 hours the Doctor on duty either declined to release him or painted Leo's condition as there not being anything more that can be done. The family is confused because they are not providing anything to support his condition and it doesn't appear to us that anything has been done to address the trauma to his brain or the pain he has to be enduring. They have him on IV's and things to keep him alive but they are not treating the problem. The staff is rude and very unprofessional and have no empathy for Leo or his family. I'm asking for someone to looking into this urgently as time is of the essence and Leo's life depends on it. If you need to reach me please feel free to call or email, my information can be found below. You can also reach his brother Timothy Menifee at [protected].

Sincerely,

Jamaica McQueen

They use the propofol to kill you(they say sedation to treat) then they give you meds to show viable viable vital signs (the organs must be preserved) the brain death test with water down the ears and a napkin across the eyeballs will give you the answers.
