I brought my mother into the ER suspecting a UTI or dehydration. I informed the nurse and doctor that she was not being treated well at her Personal Care Home, and that I was filing a report with APS on that home. I was very clear that her condition was because of her lack of care at the home. The doctor applauded me for getting her out of there. She was admitted with a UTI. He told me to be back at the hospital by 9-9:30 this morning so that I could speak with dr and a social worker would help me find her another home. I got there at 9:30, sat with my mom until 11:00 when Dr. Berry came to visit and informed me that she did not have a UTI and would send case management in to visit. About 30 minutes later Sandy comes in and tells me they are discharging my mom today, in the afternoon, she will have to go back to the place that was abusing her or I have to take her to my house. She offered NO help whatsoever, was very rude, and scoffed when I told her how much my mom could afford to pay. I left, found a home, visited it, loved it, requested clinicals and referral. I notified her that she is pending admit and asked if they could wait to transfer mom until she’s admitted. She then told me that mom was actually discharged this morning, that there was nothing they could do, asked for a another address to send her to, which I don’t have one, she hung up on me. That was the 2nd time she hung up on me! She kept saying her boss wouldn’t let mom stay. I don’t care who said it, they chose to return my mother to a place that she had been mistreated! That is unethical and absolutely frightening that they would do this to an elderly lady, ridden with dementia and no where else to go. I will be contacting a lawyer.
Memorial Hermann Health System - Billing and insurance departments
Visited The Woodlands hospital ER with a work related injury. Before I could get them the correct workers comp insurance information, they billed my private insurance and are insisting I pay the balance. I sent them all the information from the Labor Dept. (Which is workers Comp for USPS) but they have not done anything to correct their mistake. The Emergency Room Doctor (Akron Billing Center) correctly billed workers comp and were reimbursed. Only Memorial Hermann Hospital has not corrected their mistake no matter how many times I have sent them the information and explained the situation to them!
Desired outcome: Reimburse me for what I have paid unnecessarily
