I enrolled in the MA program but Remington lied to me. I completed an MA program in Mission Texas from a college school. I showed my diploma to the program chair at Houston North Campus and she stated, "You did just the basics and this program will help you". I called my school in Mission Texas and they confirmed that I completed the course. They said that your company took advantage and that I should not pay for something I already received training and completed my hours. I honestly
Desired outcome: I want my loans to be sent back and for me not to owe anything because Remington just wanted to take my money.
Remington College - Medical Assistant Program Houston campus
I attended Remington in 2005 in the medical assistant program. The whole experience was a nightmare. From the beginning it was a mess. I was young, a single mom, and went in for information. Within 5 minutes they were shoving papers in my face to sign, and I was stupid and that's on me for not reading them, but they were admissions papers and financial aide. They never explained any of the financial aide to me, what they were doing to apply for that on my behalf, or what the price was for the program. The teacher that started the program suddenly left and for weeks we were basically left to figure it out ourselves. They eventually got someone else in to do the class, but this "instructor" refused to assist with one on one in lab. I was having issues with the blood draws (at the time it was required to have 50 successful sticks) and could not feel the difference in a vein. I asked multiple times for assistance and extra help-asked for little tricks and whatnot that could help me and asked for additional time after classes or to come to night classes thinking maybe one of the other students could help me, but was denied every time. I quit the school, because what was the point. Two days later, the admissions office called and told me that I needed to complete the program or I would have to pay back the money. I advised them that I couldn't get certified or graduate because I could not get the blood draws. I was told that my grades were great and that if I completed the class time (2 mods left) that I would not owe any money. I did what I was advised to do, I signed papers and came back to the program so that I would not owe the monies for the tuition. After completing the classes I never heard from them again. Fast forward to 2019 I applied to go back to school and transcripts were requested and denied saying I owe money. I contacted them and tried to find out what was going on and was yelled at and told that I was lying and they wouldn't do anything about it. I did what was asked and returned to the program so this wouldn't happen and it still happened. My grades the entire time were PERFECT. I just couldn't draw blood due to poor instruction. I still have not received any communication or a detailed bill which I asked for. My address, my email address, and my phone number have not changed at all and I still have not heard back from them about what I requested
Desired outcome: I just want my transcripts so I can go on with my life. I was deceived and lied to and I did what was advised in finishing out the time. I don't feel that they should've gone back on their word and now say that I owe the money.
Remington College - poor educational service
Parents (Think Twice):
Classrooms are over crowded, there has been allot of THEFT in the time our daughter has been there, which is almost one year now! The campus has made no attempt to put a stop to the stealing and there are no lockers to lock up equipment. Apparently when students leave for lunch and lectures anyone can walk in and steal the students equipment... and the STUDENTS are expected to replace what's taken!
The holidays are not really holidays and the students and staff are expected to come in on weekends in order to MAKE UP CREDITS. My wife and I are really disappointed and hope things change but so far they aren't off to a very good start! (Higher Education? Please!)
